I think he got a realistic view of war after the first battle of Saratoga. William is a humanist and he doesn’t take well to death. It was Rachel that helped him to reconcile the experience he had eliminating the man who robbed unsuspecting borders. It didn’t help he lost his best friend in battle. It should be interesting to see how he evolves in the show. He’s in love with Rachel. That sets up an interesting dynamic with Ian and Rachel. Rachel is in love with Ian. Rob Cameron is a smooth operator. Buck saw through him immediately. The problem is Jemmie didn’t go back to the past through the stones. I wonder how Roger finds out in the past.
You don’t recognise Buck McKenzie because in Series 5 he was played by Graham McTavish and Jemmy’s psychic link with Mandy was first introduced when Jemmy said she could travel through the stones when she was a baby. Also we’re up to 1981 now which was the year Phil Colin’s released In the Air tonight. Come on ladies!
It's true, there are a lot of things this season that I wonder if I hadn't read the books, would I understand what was happening. I saw S1-5 before reading the books and didn't question much. But the storylines, and the connections that hold them together, are getting more complex and if the viewer doesn't get part of the back story (or doesn't remember way back to season whatever when it was briefly set up and then never mentioned again), I can see how it could be confusing. A kilt definitely, always, helps! 😍😂 Of course Jamie is not dead. Yeah, and I don't think that's any spoiler. I am really looking forward to the follow-up scene to that shot! And a couple of others that I think might be coming up in the next episode!! and looking forward to hearing your reactions :)
Next episode communication to the past. Jamie described his prophetic dream last episode season 6 of an analog 1970s phone - my opine. Absolutely love this series. I must have watched every episode of every season 5-6 times on my tablet in bed before sleep :)
