I understand that what you're talking about is referred to as keyword cannibalization... How does someone avoid this? And how do we create topical silos?
You make sure that every article has a focus related to your business, but never 2 articles targeting the same keywords. Just like Niel explained in his video To elaborate, if you own a fashion website, you could make a blog about yellow clothes, red clothes etc. Then another series of different styles of clothes, then another on fashion trends. So they all are related to your business and fashion but they all focus to their own group of people with their own keywords. In these articles you should add links to other articles.
@@vincentkuiper8682 But Neil said to have a page and keep updating that page. Will that not make one gigantic page/article that no one would like to read? I'm just trying to learn too.
i do agree, but topical authority is majorly important, and thats only achieved by multiple posts around that topic
True, but you need to make sure the topics you're going after aren't going to compete with one another.
@@neilpatelcan you guide us how we can differentiate each page from another while doing topical mapping
Makes sense! Love the Wikipedia reference. Thanks!

Neil you nailed it ❤
Wow! You're neil, surely you will make our day better :)

Don't target the same keyword in multiple pages.
If my website is in three languages, should I do off page optimization for all the three languages
Yes!
What about topical authority approach then?
Yes that's important!

What if one or two of the sub topic / sup keywords similar to the other article?
You need to make sure that they aren't producing the same results in the SERPs otherwise they will compete with one another.
Rare moment where i didn't understand what you were saying here. can you elaborate more in a full UA-cam video?
Thank you for the suggestion :) Noted!

Here's a post I wrote that dives into that neilpatel.com/blog/topical-authority/
But isn't that what topic cluster is all about?
Great question! Topic clusters are different than going after the same keyword on multiple pages.
@@neilpatel Ok thanks 🙂
