"Full House" ran more reruns in the 90s than "Friends" does today. Watching the unaired piolet is odd for several obvious reasons. However, seeing "Danny" hug a taller "Jesse" is really odd. Part of Danny's charm was that he was a tall, "string bean looking" guy who loved to clean.
This and Family Matters was the best friday nights with family. It was the only time for a full hour that our family was never mad, arguing, fighting, for whatever, ever!
I always loved the lifelong friendship of Danny and Joey, their great comedic timing together and with Jesse, and my favorite episode to this DAY is the Disney World 2-parter:) ALF definitely landed in the garage of the WRONG Tanner family as far as I'm concerned;) I can't believe that Dave Coulier wasn't ALWAYS the voice of Venkman, though, since he sounds like Bill Murray--namely the "We came, we saw, we kicked its A$$!"
Full House showed that what was cool in the late '80s to early '90s was actually '50s and '60s nostalgia (e.g. Elvis, The Beach Boys, '50s diners, leather jackets, etc). It's kind of like how '90s stuff is cool these days. I expect that the '00 fashion and pop culture will make a return in the next 20 to 30 years.
True, but I always thought that the music Jesse liked had more to do with the cost of the music rights. Singing a few bars of a contemporary hit would have probably been more than the budget of the entire episode.
But you are correct, in that 60’s music was almost more 80’s music than 80’s music. It was in everything, but again, you have to wonder how much of that was about money and cost of music rights.
It's interesting that if you were going to have single parent families in sitcoms in those days ('80s to '90s) they would more likely be - unusual for real life - single fathers. Different Strokes, Silver Spoons, Blossom, My Two Dada, and of course Full House
5:32 I always know him as ruining the Real Ghostbusters because Lorenzo Music was doing just fine as Peter Venkman. Another example of ABC ruining a show by fixing something that wasn’t broken.
I can only think it aired on Sunday on Australia because the censorship board needed time to make sure USA wasn't hiding propaganda in the show and it took them until Sunday to verify the safety of the show 😅😂
In 1987 i had discovered Beer, Chicks and Motorcycles so I didn't even know this show existed. I never saw a single episode but I definitely don't feel like i missed out
Hi Minty, Good to see you! Your videos are fun to watch. I didn't watch Full House all the time. While some of my friends did. It was a good show. I still watch reruns. A long with Fuller House. I was more hooked on reruns of Knight Rider. It was a happy fun show for family. It is a good show to watch.
Minty also forgot to mention some of the touchy moments that other Sitcoms wouldn't dared to show, Like I remember an episode of "Punky Brewster", Punky and her Best Friend Cherry were being offered Drugs from a group of Girls, and they Refused, also I remember an episode of "Family Matters" when Laura Winslow was thinking about buying a Gun after being bullied by a Girl and the girl took her shoes, until she heard a commotion and a Gun shot, and a Girl was shot when she refused to give her jacket, also I remember on an episode of "Full House" when DJ decided not to eat any food, so that she wouldn't want to be embarrassed by her friends at a pool party, also I Remember on another episode of "Full House", a Boy that was in Stephanie's Class, had confide in Stephanie that His Father had been Abusing Him, and made Her Promise not to tell No-one About it, until She was informed by her school teacher that the boy's father was abusing him again, Until Stephanie told Uncle Jesse about it, and he had did something about it.
Fun fact ... if you've seen Better Call Saul ... John Posey (the pilot Danny Tanner) plays the handlebar mustached Judge Casimiro, who is the HHM mediator in Season 6
Love this upload and grew up watching it. Still holds a special place in my heart. However, I know earlier on it was referred to as the "Brady Bunch of the 90's." But I would argue that title should go to Step by Step. Exact same premise as The Brady Bunch with a little more, albeit not much, dysfunctionality.
I always found it interesting that they wanted Bob Saget for the role, considering he was more raunchy than Eddie Murphey in the comedy section. Would also like to see more vids about 80's/90's sitcoms! There were so many good ones!
Thought danny was the straight one out the 3? Never thought Danny was the straight one. I always thought they would have a episode about him coming out the closet.😂
Jesse's twin boys were not a regular on Fuller House - only in a few episodes. The twin boys wanted to live a normal life which is why they didn't want to be actors
16:28 just so you know there's also another one about saved by the Bell and I think there's also another one too but I can't remember what show I think it was Melrose place
So, just a few more “things you didn’t know”, in the opening credits they are playing and having a picnic in a park. That park is in front of the “Painted Ladies” houses in San Francisco. Many people assume one of those houses was where they lived. The real house used for the outside shot is about a mile north of the painted ladies. I couldn’t find this anywhere, but I believe in an interview, Jeff Franklin, or Bob Saget (or both) was a little mad at Jerry Seinfeld’s tv show, because it’s what Full House was originally pitched as before becoming more family oriented. If so, it also didn’t help as Jerry Seinfeld had been reportedly being paid a million dollars per episode.
Dang Minty! Here we go. Dave Coulier is pronounced cool-e-yay. Kimmie Gibbler is the character played by ANDREA Barber, not Amanda Barber. Candace Cameron's married name, Buré, is pronounced boo-ray. The Mary-Kate & Ashley direct to video movies were made during FH, not afterwards.
Fuller House was just a rehashing of the original show. I have seen them. Nothing really new persay. Some episodes are obvious copycat versions of original ones
Why did ABC suddenly cancel Full House after 8 seasons? Because they were going in a different direction. In fact, when the cast taped the final episode of Season 8 they didn't know the show was cancelled
I loved Married with Children. I saw a number of episodes for Full House, but by 1990, I was about to hit my teenage years and Full House felt too sappy.
this is an all-american great show. you know back when they had the milkman, the paperboy, and evening TV? whatever happened to predictability? you know like some random goofy dudes raising up twin babies. a literal full house, but atleast utilities wouldnt be that bad split up. and that backyard though. and that backyard though.
Joey was always my favorite character, and I was always irritated that he tended to get the least development of all the characters over the show's run.
Good Job Minty on doing a video of one of my all-time favorite tv shows from the 80’s/90’s. BUT 2 things I would like to correct you on: 1. Dave Coulier’s last name is pronounced cool-lee-a 2. Candace Cameron Bure’s last name is pronounced bur-ray. Other than that, great job.👍
What we really need next is a 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Minty! Let’s get to know our host for these awesome videos! Where did he get his love of movies, what was his childhood like, what was life before UA-cam like for him, if he wasn’t doing this type of stuff what would he have been doing? It’s the one video we couldn’t actually find answers to anywhere else!
Fuller House wasn't that bad in my opinion. The major thing that I liked about the newer show was now it was about the daughters been adults and also single parents....who are around my age now! The humor is where I felt like it was flat and try to add some old-school humor from the original show Full House
*Do 10 Things You Didn't Know About Married With Children next!*

this is an all-american great show. you know back when they had the milkman, the paperboy, and evening TV? whatever happened to predictability? you know like some random goofy dudes raising up twin babies. a literal full house, but atleast utilities wouldnt be that bad split up. and that backyard though. and that backyard though.
Joey was always my favorite character, and I was always irritated that he tended to get the least development of all the characters over the show's run.
you should do 10 things about Webster
Good Job Minty on doing a video of one of my all-time favorite tv shows from the 80’s/90’s.
BUT 2 things I would like to correct you on:
1. Dave Coulier’s last name is pronounced cool-lee-a
2. Candace Cameron Bure’s last name is pronounced bur-ray.
Other than that, great job.👍
Thanks for that episode I learned more about full house 🏠 Care to try home 🏡 improvement that was another show I used to watch as a kid growing up
I Only Watched for Stephanie. Had a HUGE Crush On Her back then.
Bob Saget was a monster.
