Restoring Vision : A 7-Month Journey of Home Therapy for Vision Loss Caused by Brain Tumor

Three years ago, this 8-year-old girl was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent surgery promptly after confirmation of the diagnosis to remove it. Unfortunately, the surgery resulted in decreased vision due to optic atrophy in both eyes. Last year, during an episode of Influenza A accompanied by high fever, her vision deteriorated further. Her right eye became completely blind, and the left eye retained only limited vision.
After seven months of combined home vision therapy (AC STIM and V20 light therapy), there has been a remarkable improvement in her condition. The central vision acuity of her left eye has increased from 0.15 to 0.5, and there has been significant improvement in peripheral vision as well. Previously with no light perception, her right eye can now discern fingers. This progress has allowed her to engage in play with other children once again.
