- The centre-piece of TM Krishna's recital at the FEA-curated CROSSROADS festival was a rendition of a Muthuswami Dikshitar kriti called Kshitija Ramanam in Ragam Devagandhari.
Krishna was accompanied by HN Bhaskar on violin, B Sivaraman on mridangam and KV Gopalakrishnan on kanjira.
One only has to close eyes and to forget politics to feel this soulful rendition of this song!
Brilliant rendition of Devagandhari and the composition itself, wonderful support by Bhaskar sir, Sivaraman sir and KVG sir too
Excellent rendition A lot of thanks to Shri TMK sir Sivaram sir and Kvg sir
Mridangam !
This is an unique concert of Vidwan TMK without accompaniment of violin.
Sivaraman Anna. At a loss for words.
Why doesn't anyone appreciate or even recognize HN Baskar, Sivaraman and KV Gopalakrishnan effort. The point is Sivaraman and Gopalakrishnan played an excellent thani avartanam , and beautifully crafted korvai ,no one talks on that? I Understand Krishna is the main artist but is he the only person on the stage?
@FEA, Consider this as a request from a fan. When Thani Avartanam is played please mention it in the video title or description. Music is a teamwork and everyone needs to be respected and recognized.
Well said... I understand where this sudden like for accompanists and hatred towards main artist, Mr. Krishna is coming from. :)
@Shreyas K . With respect, if you are concerned with the words 'main' artist and 'accompanist' why don't you give a shout out to the @FEA that, why Mr. TM Krishna is being highlighted more than the other ' co-artistes'. When you highlight an 'artist' from the other 'co-artiste' then you are referring that artist as main. So my question is, what is wrong when the word 'main' artist is used to describe Mr Vidwan TM Krishna because the video portrays that isn't it?. What i am trying to convey is TM Krishna is not the "Concert" rather TM Krishna is a "Part of the Concert". Also Kindly look into the description, it says "Krishna was accompanied".
@Shreyas K . Yes We have become habituated to these kind of naming convention and i am sure it won't change in the coming years too. My point is, @FEA can at-least highlight the Mridangam and Kanjira artist when the ThaniAvartanam is played. The artist put their mind and soul into the ThaniAvartanam. It is not that easy to craft korvai for songs that are not sung frequently. See Kshitija has been taken on the start of 3rd beat in 2-Kalai adi Talam, 2nd speed . When we craft korvai it should properly fall into the place and that happens on stage. Please recognize this @FEA there is lot of hardwork and timing into it. I hail from a music family that respect all artist and that why it bothers me
@@dilipwarrier5199 Exactly. This buildup against him is there for sometime
@@dilipwarrier5199 you said it
Great rendering 🙏 sir.Devine
At 30:04 the mrudangist stopped !!.......and got nice ideas later
Thats something that happens when you start composing stuff on the spot. It happens sometimes. But it is a part of life long learning in Mridangam. And stuff that B. Sivaraman Anna plays, decades of practice will be insuffucient to acheive it.
As pure as driven snow,.....⛄
Also for grand following of Bhaskar sir
TMK- great!
Sorry, I should have said, with modest use of violin accompaniment. I observed later on.
Great, all of u
Excellent performance
Amazing
అద్భుతం
Can anyone help me.with the lyrics of this krithi?
Soulful
Hello does anyone know what the stotram was that was sung by Shri Krishna during the song? or was it part of the song? I think not. Any thoughts? Thx!
It is the virutham - Hemantha Kaale
He looks like young Gandhiji with pearls in his mouth. Pro bono.
I agree with Karthik. The quality a little bit declined. We have to accept it
Appears like he is performing natyam sitting down instead of singing.A wonderful talent wasted with warped ideas and secular thought which is unfortunate.MDR sang in this tempo but had a voice to sustain the profound effect. Music is an experience which is lacking both letter and spirit. A honest personal feedback.
