The chemistry Michael and Jermaine had on this song was nice. I love to watch the performances of them doing this record. The choreography was dope.

What made the Jackson 5 so immediately iconic was that for those of us who were kids and teenagers then and bought a large percentage of popular music, they were us. When their first single "I Want You Back" came out in late 1969 the Jackson 5 ranged in age from 11 to 18 (Motown's media machine said Michael was 9, but he was 11). Consider that before the Jackson 5, most of our musical heroes were adults. Unlike today, even though when the Temptations and Supremes came out in the 1960s they were young adults in their early 20s, they seemed so much older than us. They wore suits and gowns--grown people clothes. The Jackson 5 dressed like youth, and also influenced our fashion. Sly & the Family Stone dressed "hippie-ish" too, but they were older. Music acts today of the same age seem younger because they don't dress that way, even if they're in their 30s or older. The Jackson 5 were us, were our age, and therefore relatable. But adults liked them too. I remember adults commenting on the song on the B-side of "I Want You Back," "Who's Loving You." They said things like, "How is that little boy singing like he knows about love?" because Michael Jackson was singing his *** off like he was feeling the pain of lost love like Otis Redding or Wilson Pickett or somebody. That's another example of the mature style of musicians back then. Looking back, Otis Redding seems so old, but he was only 26 when he died. How big was the influence of the Jackson 5? The Osmond Brothers were famous in the 1960s. They were regulars on the Andy Williams TV show. The older Osmond Brothers sang lead, and little brother Donnie was kind of just there for the cute factor. After the Jackson 5 broke out, the Osmond Brothers put Donnie front and center. They put out the single "One Bad Apple" with Donnie singing lead that was so much in the style of the Jackson 5 that at first, we thought it was them. That's not shade on the Osmond Brothers. They were smart to follow the money.

The third of four straight Number One hits at the start of their career in 1969-'70.

The whole album is CUTE. These are the first Jackson 5 songs I remember hearing. Lawdd, I feel like an old dinosaur 🦖🦕. Jermaine and Michaels voices took over the whole track

JJ , "Oh Baby Give Me one More Chance" is from " I Want You Back" which I think was their first single. Saw them premiere it on "The Ed Sullivan Show". I was a big fan at the time. It actually might have been what introduced me to Motown. It's harder to listen to Michael's voice that young now than before. I liked when they switched off from Michael to Jermaine and then back to Michael again. I remember how huge the Jackson 5 was when I was in the 8th grade and all us girls were asking each other who their favorite Jackson was and we all said Jermaine. He was closest to our age. It's amazing what memories music triggers.

Not sure u really comprehend the context. It wasn’t merely another“dope” classic record, it signaled a paradigm shift for the entire music and entertainment industry, if not American Culture itself 👌🏾🔥👊🏾

Hey JJ, IMHO this track is one of my favorites from the Jackson 5, back in the day they just took off as a young musical group and the rest is music history!!!

I was exposed to the Jackson 5 very early on in my soul/funk/disco journey and dismissed them at first except for 5 songs or so maybe but man... did time prove me wrong, it might honestly be my favorite Motown discography, nothing comes close to the quality of content these 5 boys and their musicians' teams have accumulated. In terms of pop music, the melodies are all so great and their covers often surpass, to me, the original. They really outdid themselves and all their albums except for a couple of songs maybe (Dancing Machine and Hum Along (the Temptations' psychedelic anthem cover)) but, looking back to 12 years ago when I was first exposed to them, the rest is just perfection!

Many of the songs on this album were covers of recent hits by other artists. It was a common practice at Motown to do this. The Love you Save was their third hit single in 1970.

This is one of the few J5 songs MJ sang throughout his career.

Great reaction!!! Tito is the base voice of the group. Takes after Joe Jackson. Was always around the J5 as a kid.

The Jackson 5, especially Michael, had me glued to the t.v. when they came on! I even watched their cartoon. LOL. Miss Michael so much. Have you heard Rockin' Robin?

Had this album as a kid. Loved this album because it had more original songs. But, the songs they covered were fire. The passion that little Michael Jackson had was unmatched at the time. As I pointed out before, the counterpoint harmony they used was Great!!! Bubble gum song made great by these 5 talented brothers. Another point that was spoken of in the comments, but begs to be repeated, is the chemistry between Michael and Jermaine's vocals. Smokey Robinson's "Come Round Here" was never the same after Michael sang the song. Classic, absolutely Classic!!! ❤❤❤

The album ABC by the Jackson 5 was the first album in music history to produce 4 #1 hit singles from the same album. Not even the Beatles achieved that feat!
