    I love Ms. Pat's shirt...a very wonderful message to get across. I love Ms. Nika style of interview it's very in depth and she does it in a way in which it doesn't come across as condescending.

      There are different types of mindsets as well as mentality ...What I admire about Ms. Pat is that she gave the origin of where things started for her which is where the compassion comes in . I'm not sure where this mentality originates from but unfortunately I've noticed that when it comes to melanated women they are not given the same type of compassion as with other races/cultures of women. Instead they are judged as a whole ....hence statements such as...But too many "black" women.....

      Donald Trump is Ghetto Trash Until we *know* better, we aren’t gonna do better. We need it where we *are*, not where it’s so far removed from our thing it’s not real. You feel there’s “no excuse.” It’s *not* about excuse: It’s about “this is my world. This is *my* reality. I don’t know anything but this shit. There are no books of any kind in my house. There is no one doin’ anything but hustlin’ because bottom line is we *all* do what is in our best economic interest regardless of our income bracket. (We just don’t have millions of corporate welfare.) There’s SM to pimp for my living. I may realize there was a black family in the House, but they might as well be on Mars because I’m just tryin’ to get through this day with my kids.”
      And the last damn thing imma do is blame the victims-because that’s what you’re doin’. Nobody “secretly craves this type of dysfunction.” Screw that: Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
      Stop holding up the exception as this is whatchoo can do if you *wanted to*. Nobody aspires to be poor and a minority. No one wakes up one day and says, “Yeah, I’mma sell my pussy/drugs/go to prison.” Maybe we wanted to be astrophysicists, maybe we learned the beauty of a base pair of amino acids called DNA: G=C, A=T. Maybe we stopped the teacher after class and said, “Hey, this is DNA? This is it for every cell in our bodies?!” Maybe they blew our ghetto mind that day even though we was up most of the night with the adults partyin’. Who knows, but we come to school hungry for food, OK? And the learnin’ happened to be a side effect.
      Start where people are *at* and work your way forward from there. Bein all up on your lofty perch is above our street level. All’s you’re doin is shamin’ us. People don’t need that crap.
      I hear you and I do appreciate your thoughts. This isn’t about right or wrong or up and down.
      It’s about being human with all our human ignorance (dictionary def: Not Knowing) but about our human frailties and failings. We all got ‘em. You too. But please don’t lecture because nobody responds to that.
      Thanks for your thoughts. I truly do wish we all started at the same Starting Line, but we don’t.
      And I know you meant well. But you forgot reality.

    She explained the sexual abuse so well. When it happens the victim definitely knows it happened but isn’t always sure it really happened the way it’s remembered. I think our conscience mind tries to protect itself by disconnecting.

      SolasRuinedMyLife That is some nasty gaslighting, Ms. Hathaway. You hold onto your Truth like it’s your life raft.
      Because it is.

    • @tundrawomansays5067
      @tundrawomansays5067 5 років тому

      Damn. All of us need to know right down to our souls it takes a special kinda evil to do a child like that.
      Abuse of any kind is never about us, it’s about our abusers taking their shit out on us by stealing our innocence and trust in the grown ups around us.
      The shame is their’s alone.
      Tell yourself your Truth…doesn’t matter if anyone else believes it because we *know.*
