  • Northern Soul classic guitar lesson. The double-stops in the linchpin lick are: E on the G string and A on the B string then slide down two frets then proceed to the C on the D string and the E on the G string.

Not only are your lessons great and I want to thank you for them. But there's something else; through the songs you've chosen to cover it's introduced me to a whole lot of music that I missed out on growing up in the 60s and 70s. And of course the artists---such as Tyrone Davis---whom I was totally unfamiliar with. I had heard a few things by Al Green, but thanks to you I picked up his album "Gets Next to You"
and I think have worn the CD out. A masterpiece of the late 60s, in my opinion. So, I hope you keep on doing what your doing; there's a whole lot of us who value it so much.

Damn these video lessons are so good. I know I can pause and replay, but I try not to even blink when the Maestro is playing.

Not paint it's cornstarch. He taught that trick years ago & I've been passing it on ever since. Thanks again for years of inspiration @mnaicck

Awesome... another favorite after Can I Change My Mind as done by Buchanan. A word of advice though: try and stay away from the nose whiskey. When you're covered in it, you are in too deep.

Nose whisky, that's a little harsh. Are u referring to the left knee. Probably bread making flour, sanding dust or an old faded pair of jeans. Maybe it's foam dust from hand shaping a surfboard blank.

@@SmeeUncleJoe I got the idea from seeing Ray Flacke a couple times with Marty Stuart though I'm pretty sure Ray uses baby powder. I prefer corn starch. Either are better than Finger Ease (if that's even still around)

@@mnaicck I can't remember if it was Clapton or Beck that I was reading a few days ago. He ordered necks without varnish as the new finishes were intolerably sticky.

I don't rightly know. He was all around TD in that era and he wrote Turning Point which was another hit for Davis. So all I can say is I wouldn't be surprised
