I'm glad I'm not the only one taken aback by the Leftwich/Hamilton graphic. As a Black Patriots fan, it was a rough one. If they go back to Josh McDaniels I don't know what I will do.
Important correction I think a lot of people seemingly don’t realize. Vrabel never hired Matt LaFleur lol that was an arranged marriage by Jon Robinson and Vrabel and LaFleur hated each other lol Also while Vrabel should get credit for promoting Arthur Smith to OC, he also only knew about him because he was a carry over from the Mularkey staff!
Thank you for saying what every Bears fan should be thinking. McCarthy is not a bad coach but he isn’t going give you success in after December. He benefitted from bad divisions his entire coaching career. He would come in the NFC North that had 3 playoff teams this year to contend with!
Seems like the Giants are taking a play out of the Bears playbook where they should clearly move on from the leadership team they have now and align their GM, Head Coach, and rookie QB contract, but instead they'll draft a QB with a lame duck staff and likely fire everybody after 2025.
I love you guys, been listening to you Mays since the Grantland days, but if they hire McCarthy, I am going to give up football, and as such will have to give up this podcast. It is so disparaging.
Cowboys are going to hire Jon Gruden methinks. Needs to be a big name and someone who’s been a HC before. I don’t think Jerry would care about the whole e-mail scandal situation. Would just mean more media attention.
The Pats interviewing Pep and Leftwich was done intentionally. They had their guy. I understand the importance of the Rooney rule. I think it's the moral way to go. But it creates division imo. Leftwich and Hamilton were never getting that job. They were only interviewed so NE would be in compliance with the rule. That's a problem. That's causing division imo. I don't know the solution, but having to interview people of color doesn't feel right to me. I also understand why the rule is in place
Don’t get me wrong, I think Ben Johnson would have power with the Raiders. But that situation compared to others he reportedly turned down, like Washington, is a bad situation. Routinely dysfunctional franchise, division is stacked with winning QBs and coaches. If I were Johnson give me a couple of other spots to make my own.
Stop it, as a cowboys fan. Hiring prime time would prove how unserious of a franchise the cowboys really are. Please please no. Give me John Gruden, nobody loves football more
Hasn't it already been proven that the Cowboys are an unserious franchise? Let's go back to Jerry saying he was "all in" this past offseason, then not taking a single action in support of that. I don't see Gruden getting hired. The slow drip of nasty bigoted emails he sent would begin again.
The first time playcaller bit is just a level of granularity I would expect from sports journalism. When Ben Johnson isn't able to replicate his success behind the Bears line what will the excuse be next time?
That New York media guy in the middle does not act like a journalist. He shouts, rants, his arguments consist of mocking, ridicule and laughing at anyone debating his logic. That's schoolyard behaviour... All he focused on was blame. Embarrassing to watch.

This show is always great but it's at it's best when Robert is ranting about the Bears
This is a great show! Wish youtube put it on my feed earlier

Don't forget that Jerry Jones hates wasting money most of all. He won't eat 110 million to move on from Dak

I’m going to be very sad if Ben Johnson goes to the raiders, feels like too much going on there with the Vegas and Brady of it all

Sure, is this what happened to McVay, and LaFleur, and OConnoll? Why are y'all so afraid of trying for the best?
