Tbh, I like the play style of the Lebrun brothers. people say they rush opponents by serving fast. but that's much better than those slow servers that break momentum of the game. Lebruns get straight into the game, and makes for great viewing.
@@nobody3432 this is how it is, the player that is serving has the right to decide of the tempo. Referees are starting to make that rule more obvious to everyone by giving yellow cards for time stalling. This is very logic to me, allowing aggro strategies.
They are annoying arrogant and obnoxious - and border on cheating. The ‘it touched’ in this game is a good indication. It wasn’t that clear that you stop the point and assume you’ve won.

Another performance showing maturity beyond his years for Felix, although you could argue stopping in the point where he thought the ball had touched Lee's shirt showed the opposite - you finish the rally and then say you think it hit the shirt, never stop. What a player this young man is.
One of the most exciting matches I haven’t seen in recent years. It almost feels like the final~ Tbh, both players have been terrific. It’s just Felix has got this resilience and AQ mentality and made him like a steel toward the last two matches. His unreal rpb, his close to the table quickness and his ability to rally far away from the table, not to mention his thousand varieties of highly disguising serves, just made him a complete package. He is the one reviving penholds in table tennis after Xu Xin. And I am really thrilled and honored to see this penholder coming out of a non-Chinese country. Plus, most people have totally neglected the fact that he (and his twin brother Alex) are the rare world professional tt players that wear glasses! (I was about to say the “only” tt players but was afraid that I have missed someone in history). As an amateur player who wears glasses, I have always doubted the existence of top players that wear glasses for YEARS. And now the two brothers have proved me wrong HAPPILY! Wearing glasses 🤓 is no longer seen as an unbreakable obstacle to make top 10 players in the world! Thanks to the Lebruns!!!
Felix has deadly serves variations and stay on the table very efficiently.. Today he impressed me with his adaptation skill that we didn t see before..this is the trademark of the Champions ...He can handle pressure very well bc we feel that he is enjoying playing his sport more than winning after all..
Winning vs a very good LEE Sang Su who in 1/8 round before had beaten the world number 1 is very significant of Félix's enormous progress over the last 3 to 4 months! Félix is humble and intelligent (as are the two Lebrun brothers), he learns and knows how to correct his mistakes very quickly, he has a very good mentality and never admits defeat, and all that at only 17 years old ! Hum, his progress is therefore not over...
@@cookiebot3369 We don't care about your Chinese statistics from the past which only suit you and your idiotic conclusions. Big respect for Lebrun and his performance so far. Ma Long might be one bridge too far though... and so is Wang Chuqin. I don't think he'll win but he already has made so much progress for a young player. Soon enough he'll be at the top for sure
Felix Lebrun is without the faintest doubt now the #1 penholder and #1 non-Chinese player on the tour (much as I'd predicted many moons ago). Félicitations to all French fans for your fiery and fantastique phenomenon Felix! Happy dragon hunting (and slaying) tomorrow🔥🔥🔥

I guess he must be inspiring! There might be a surge of penholders thanks to him (and he can also attract way more Europeans than previously to this kind of style showing it is not reserved to Asians)
For the last point, if you slow down the video at 29:00, you'll clearly see the ball changing direction after it touched the shirt of the korean player. It's not imposible Lee Sang Su doesn't feel the ball on his shirt, and it's hard to see from the umpire point of view. Felix should have finished the point instead of stop it like that. During the match against Dang Qiu, two times the ball touched player's shirts and both players said it spontaneously. So I think Felix is fairplay about it. It's a little unfair to blame him for his attitude, especially in this case where he is right.
That's exactly the point I was just explaining to some fellow french countrymen in the comments: both are right, Felix is in the best position to judge the ball's trajectory, and Sang Su's shirt is floating since a while now, starting to jump of his short, so yeah he can't feel the ball that touches the textile only, not his body. But... it's a match point, so no fair play anymore right ? ;-) since Liu Guoliang made everything possible to ban the VAR, there are too much refereeing issues. Fact is, there's a country that cheats with rules, China, and that same country dictates the WTT their own rules because of Liu Guoliang: hidden serves, hand raised every 2 or 3 points when they're trailing, and even flashes from smartphones in the chinese fangirls corner, Sang Su has seen it before the match point vs FZD, just like Simon Gauzy saw it at the match point vs Xu Xin in 2019 WTTC. Same shit in WTTC Durban when Alexis Lebrun complained in the double's decider. China in general, chairman, coaches, players and fans included play dirty, mind game. Some rules must be enforced, and each time a fan raises his smartphone, he should be banned from the arena.
Agree with that, really think Felix saw that ball touching the shirt. But for me, even frame by frame (use dot and coma shortcuts) I'm unable to tell. He should have completed the point nonetheless. And yes he's fairplay as is Lee who would have acknowledged if he thought there was a touch.
Felix has the composure that Alexis has never had. Down a match point against a jacked up Lee Sang Su still fuming from beating world #1 and playing like a madman.
