It's ok Josh, we've all had these " Wait I can actually do that ? " moments in games we thought we knew like the back of our hands.
That's what makes a great game, still finding new things 20 years later.
I was about 80 hours into Skyrim, when I discovered you can sprint. WHO PUT SPRING ON ALT KEY?!
not me, I have for example never forgotten to equip the job stone in ffxiv then run around in a dungeon wondering why I dont do damage...
Was top player for a specific weaponclass in NA on a certain game, and I didn't realize I could save myself cumulative hours interacting with their shops by just hitting "enter" instead of clicking the dialogue prompt every item purchase. It gets us all. xD
@@TitanMarkus At least you took the time to enjoy the view xD
To be fair, this chalks up to a greater power (once a day) vs lesser power (unlimited) confusion. Anyone who's played Morrowind or Oblivion has had it happen.
Honestly, it’s dumb. This shouldnt be a cast to begin with, but just an innate. Unfortunately I haven’t played morrowind; why did they do it that way? Engine limitations?
@@TomJacobWAside from one of the Temple quests REQUIRING you to drown yourself (meaning Argonians would be entirely unable to complete that quest) but past that I can't find anything about it; it's possible it's just an oversight or something, but I'm guessing making the entire Temple questline impossible for them was the main cause.
@@TomJacobW I doubt it. Other races, like Bretons, have magical effects (like Fortify Magicka) with constant effects on them that are triggered simply by *being* a Breton. They could have used the same system to give Argonians Water Breathing by the same token.
@@TomJacobW There's no engine limitations here. Races are perfectly capable of having passives in Morrowind.
Actually, there may be an engine limitation. In Daggerfall, Argonians had a permanent passive that increased their breathing capacity underwater. In Morrowind, afaik, you either breathe underwater or you don't, as in, the breath meter is hardcoded.
@@dosbilliam Nah, in Daggerfall Argonians had increased breathing capacity and weren't outright able to breathe underwater. I assume the breathing capacity in Morrowind is hardcoded, so giving them a racial spell was the next best thing they could do without outright making them fishes.
Know a guy who got all the way to the Tree Sentinel outside of Leyndell before he learned you could run in Elden Ring
I'm gonna need a link, pretty please.
No...
I know someone who after exploring all of limgrave only discovered in the underground that you can double jump on Torrent...
it's me. i was that guy
Back in the day (2006), I solo-grinded myself up as a Black Mage in FFXI to level 14 on my XB360...without knowing about macros. I was selecting spells from the menu...
Idk if I can ever look at Josh the same. This incident has shaken me to my very core, and I doubt I will ever feel whole again.
I didn't sign an NDA
You were very drunk
No Direct Amounts
Ngl this controversial incident will remain in my memory for years to come and deeply affect my opinion of Josh´s character and intelligence.
We hate to see a king fall like this....
When a beloved king falls, you hand him back his crown.
It took me 150 hours to realise you can sprint whilst healing in Monster Hunter World.
Wait you can? Oh god…
You can also sprint while healing while crouched, useful when recovering from bleeding.
no no no no no
wait really ? Im pretty sure that feature was marketed and even in trailers..
@@CR-og5ho now THAT, is something that I don't believe
Disgusting. Betrayed my trust. Will never listen to again. 10/10
Josh is a treasure, I love him, he needs to be protected at all costs to continue to flourish
Josh: "I'm gonna ask that all of you leave the room now"

I think one of my "wait, I can do that?" moments after thinking I knew the game my entire life was realising I could spindash over short gaps on flat ground in Sonic Adventure that you'd normally have to manually jump over.
He’s honestly one of the most humble UA-camrs. Amazing radio presenter type voice to boot and he’s does the work by telling us what mmos were worth trying.
It really just doesn't make much sense for an argonian to cast water breathing. It's literally in their nature. The gills are built in.
It didn't used to be. Back in Daggerfall, they could just survive much longer underwater, but not indefinitely. They only became fish in Morrowind and later, and that's only because they foolishly hardcoded the breath meter, so they were incapable of extending it for Argonians. This was the compromise, and any lore about them being able to survive indefinitely underwater was made up after the fact to justify it.
Had the same happen to me with night vision as a Khajit. Had to accidentally spam it to realise I could use it as often as I want with no cost whatsoever and it certainly brightened up my day.
Brightened up your night too.
You can also just enchant 2 rings with the life regen spell and be immortal to everything, drowning included, this game has so many interactions its crazy.
Yep. I still get these moments sometimes. Even on old games like morrowind
Learning is the most humbling experience a human can go through. "Wait I was wrong? But it hurts my feelings. I will remember that..."
I like how chat delay made all "yea" responses to "can I cast water breathing as often as you want all the time" show up after Josh asked "have I just been really dumb the entire playthrough".
"POINT AND LAUGH" in the chat as soon as he said to not comment 😆😆
Ayo graphics looking good, which mods are u running?
I remember when I played BotW for the first time. The first 50-60 hours I didn't realize you could fast travel from anywhere. I always walked to a fast travel point and travelled from there.
I thought this was gonna be a reaction video to comments on your Pay to Win video - wasn't disappointed though.
If this was asmon he'd have banned his entire chat
I do like how the underwater passive on argonaians is useful on this game I wished they made more underwater stuff on Skyrim
Oh hell, Josh was wrong AGAIN!? mY tRuSt Is BrOkEn
instantly humbled
funny af. love josh
LOL TY FOR THAT
It's okay, I had a friend who was playing a twin stick shooter, and discovered the second stick functionality about three hours into the game.
is Josh streaming a morrowind run recently? is there a place i can watch the VODs?
JoshStrifeReplays channel :)
@@karoljabonski6772 thx
Classic gamer moment 🎉😂
This is unacceptable, I demand a ukukele apology
"No comment!" 🥰
How can someone so entertaining and eloquent make such a folly? Was this all a lie? Have we been watching a complete and utter fool? I'm flabbergasted, Josh. How could you hide it from us for so long? I don't even know you anymore! 😭
What happened, was he casting the alteration spell instead of the argonian spell?
Argonians get this spell from the start but in form of a normal spell, not as "Power" ability which you would only be able to use once every 24 hours.
@@mercenarymudcrab ahhh gotcha, thank you
Pretty much.
He thought the Argonian water breathing was a Power (i.e. like most Birthsign spells, which can be only used once a day, though silly him, those don't cost mana), so he was using a spell that cost as much mana, but had quarter the duration.
LOL handled like a true Chad
Its ok, I kept forgetting you could heal while blocking In Elder Scrolls Online.
You think that's bad? I didn't figure out that the Mako in Mass Effect had a main cannon until my second playthrough, I just used the machine gun.
self-imposed challenge run = activated
yes, the ability is rather breath taking :)
To be fair, if you can cast it as much as you want. Why not just let argonians breathe underwater without it
This was added in later games but didn't work in Morrowind because of a quest requiring you to drown
@@ndchunter5516 Yeah I remember that quest. It had me stuck for a little bit, since I am used to by nature, that if you die ...you're game over, lol.
I know this is a doozy in the other way but recent FF14 has been taking a crack at Savage 4 man dungeons, Basically its a marathon where you and 3 others cannot make a single mistake, get hit by mechanic, not properly mit/heal the other mechanics, and not do tons of damage if any of you fail at any point you go to the start. The entire dungeon is on an enrage timer around 24 minutes, an add room, followed by a boss, followed by an add room, followed by two back to back bosses. With about 7 minutes to go our tank types "can I ask a question" some time goes by because we cant really type mid combat and risk throwing the run, so between the two boss pulls he types "If we make a mistake does the entire thing reset" and we proceeded to clear on this mans first attempt where he didn't even understand the stakes till the last boss
Back when water breathing was actually useful 🥲
Clipped
It's okay to be wrong
After my first playthrough, i cant play argonian or khajiit because they cant wear boots, every play through i need boots of blinding speed.
Stupid question, but what game is this?
Morrowind
@@DREADDWELLER thank you
this changes everything
what game is this? some modded elder scrolls?
It's Morrowind.
Of all the things you can do in the game and you didn't think to try it?
It’s okay, I beat Mass Effect 2 without ADS once
For some reason I read that as "without AIDS" at first lol.
ADS? Sorry, it's been a while since I last played ME2. What are ADS?
Aiming down sights, so they essentially only used hipfire on their weapons.@@hellraiser217
@@hellraiser217 Aim down scope. The first time I played ME2, I didn't pull left trigger to look down the scope...and used the sniper rifle a lot. If you're in cover, it'll scope for a split second before the shot goes off

... embarrassed Josh looks really cute 😳
Whoa!
Next thing you're going to tell me is that Josh doesn't know about the "Drain Intelligence 100 for 1 sec" trick?
I don't . What does that do?
@@remliqa so your max Magicka amount is determined by your Intellect. Any effects boosting or lowering attributes recalculate the parameters determined by them.
So you Drain Intelligence on yourself by 100, making it 0 and your max Magicka is set to 0. After 1 second your Intelligence is restored and so is your max Magicka, but you also get your Magicka bar full, because you had it "maxed out".
tl;dr "Drain Intelligence 100 for 1 sec" = "fully restore Magicka".
Any little thing that you say or do. I won't... I won't comment on you.
but why did he take dmg at the end tho
Door was trapped

HE'S ONE OF US! HAS BEEN ALL ALONG!
Self report
beaveycakes, you were seen
A perfectly reasonable reaction given that this "passive biological function" is something translated to the player through repeatedly casting a spell, unlike in Oblivion or Skyrim where Argonians outright breathe normally underwater with no player input.
In before his twitter goes private for committing such a travesty.
God's Smartest British "Person"
I will ignore it. But only because you have a gigachad name.
i rescind my last comment about water breathing :/

lol
HAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
Love the way chat most go''yep'' but didn't say anything about it before. NPC culture is strong
Exposed
cringiest creator out there
Wait until he realises that socialism is wrong
... WHY would he think he COULDN'T cast it whenever?
He thought it was a power like the Redguards' Adrenaline Rush
A lot of racial abilities have a cool down, so not that weird
you cant cast it when you have zero mana so isnt he right? you in fact cant cast it all the time. even if it only costs 5 and he has 200 max mana. even if he had 50,000 max mana by "cheating" you still cant cast it at zero mana afterall
Probably just starting spell confusion.
A lot of spells you get for free during character creation are strong, but only able to be used once per day.
So it'd be easy to assume that the argonian water breathing spell works the same.
