    I like this. May I add that when you push down on the Bowden Tube to seat onto the back of the nozzle, unscrew the nozzle a half turn, push down on the tube all the way, then tighten the nozzle back up. This ensures that it gets set nice and tight against the back of the nozzle to prevent clogs and under extrusion.

    Nice video from this guy! I wanted to add a couple of things. All the video's I watched talked about the Blue Bowden Tubing, so I bought 3 sets from 3 different EBAY sellers. I replaced the tubing on my Creality Ender machine, using the new ends that came with the tubing. My problem was a clicking noise from the extruder, and it seemed like very little filament was coming through the nozzle. The clicking noise was from the filament geing blocked just before the nozzle, and the problem was that I didn't shove the new tubing all the way down to the nozzle. When I took the Bowden tube apart and pulled everything out (after I heated up the nozzle first), I found that the filament actualy had wrapped around the inside of the heating mechanism like the rope on a noose! it bottlenecked the filament between the end of the Bowden Tube and the nozzle! I kept on trying to get the Bowden Tube through the adapter with the press down peice and it wouldn't go through! Turns out, the new press down piece that came with the new Bowden tubing had a smaller hole towards the nozzle, and the Bowden tubing wouldn't go through that hole! I installed the old one, and it solved my problem. You have to check the new fittings if you buy them, and make certain they work with your Ender Machine, or whatever Printer you have.

    • @salemawdry6556

      For the Extruder motor coupling there isn't really a better way to remove the PTFE from it, but if you are going to fully replace the PTFE Tube and it doesnt come out of the Hot End Coupling what i usually do is heat the Nozzle up, pull the filament out all the way then carefully unscrew the Hot End Coupling, let the Hot End cooldown and turn off the Printer then i just cut the PTFE above the coupling (leave a inch or two so you can grab it) and push it trough all the way.
      Hope this helps?

    Couple of things: be aware that the mounting of hot end to x carrriage can break. Do not apply force to it, unscrew the hot end from the carriage plate. Also there may be play or a gap from end of tube to nozzle, unscrew a little, feed in tube, re tighten to eliminate gap.

    Alright, I'm trying the wrench on the bowden tube to try to get it to release, but it simply won't and obviously I don't want to press down too hard because I don't want to break anything on the printer. Any other solutions? It's kinda funny because the other end that you were using the channel locks to release opens up for me no problem.

    I know this is an old video, but I also had extreme difficulty getting the hot end out- until my incredible wife offered a solution when I was frustrated about the tube not coming out. Wrap some scotch tape around your fingers where you grip the tube (sticky side out). When pushing the ring, the tape gives you the proper grip to pull with enough force to remove the tube relatively easily. Please comment if this comment helps anyone besides me.

  • @The-Anathema

    The lower coupling will not depress for me (maybe I need more force, E3 v2 max neo), needed to get some broken filament out because it simply wouldn't feed with just good filament pushing on the end of the snapped piece (it snapped right by the drive gears, worst possible location for a breakage imo, if it breaks further up it's easy to get it out, if it breaks further in it's just not a problem because the filament has nowhere else to go but forward, but right at the drive gears? yeah good luck, it'll just deflect.) but since I could get one side out I could manually push enough through the hotend and now it works just fine.

    I had to replace my bowden tube because it melted into my nozzle and clogged the printer. Because of that the next tube I installed I thought "Oh, I shouldn't push this down all the way, it'll melt" and have been struggling with my prints ever since.
    This video is where I learned why (and that made complete sense when he said "or you'll get under extrusion problems"). But now I don't know why my other bowden tube melted....

    • @Malikosis
      @Malikosis 2 роки тому

      It didn't melt unless you did extreme heats for higher melt point filaments. Probably what actually happened is you took out the bowden tube and mistook the filament that hardened from a clog that happens if there is a slight gap between the bowden tube and nozzle as the plastic of the tube itself melting.
      It's more likely just that cooled and hardened filament because the tube is meant to handle high temps (be careful, while temps like PLA are safe when you get to higher melting point plastics you should look up how the tube and filament handles it and consider getting a higher quality tube because
      it can give off fumes, degrade the tube over time or melt the tube fairly quickly at extremely high temperatures. Which for humans can be very bad without proper ventilation but especially birds can die from the fumes)

    The other thing I should mention. When replacing the Bowden Tube I would also mover the nozzle to the absolute farthest point that you can print, just to make certain the length works properly. The original tubing on my Ender was too short, and would hang up on the crossbar as it extended, and the original length wouldn't let me adjust the height far enough up!
