Thank you for hosting your own UA-cam channel! Congratulations on your achievements and changing the world! I would love to see how you work with a skateboard!
I lost my board down the mountain last year because I wasn't using a leash. Quite embarrassing and the snow where it landed was super deep so it took a lot of effort to get it. 🤦♀️🙄
I agree, I can't think of a worse fabric that holds more snow and moisture like jeans do. Especially for beginners. It's like the worst thing you could wear.
You may not want a leash but most areas require them just as skis use to have to have them until bindings started to include brakes. You personaly could be liable for the injuries of someone who is injured by a runaway board.
TL:DR Only using board length vs rider height is not a good way to select a board. Pay attention to board flex and width that match your body and riding abilities. On the topic of selecting a board, rider height / weight / feet size are all factors. Gender is also a factor, female riders generally have wider stance compared to male riders of the same height, so a properly designed female specific model in the same board category will have a wider stance reference point, slightly softer flex due to the wider stance has less leverage to bend the board, and narrower board waist for smaller feet/boot size. A 156cm board just means the board measures tip to tip 156cm, you will need to find out how wide it is, what the effective running length is, how flexible it is for bare minimum when getting a board. Then there is board shape, and base profile and probably some more. TL:DR Only using board length vs rider height is not a good way to select a board. I'm pretty new to snowboarding (only few days of riding) and oh.. my greatest fear is the damn chairlift lol Took me some time to figure out how I need to position myself before getting off, but it still feels really awkward trying to get off of it. Not only that, some chairlifts seem to be faster than others, so I never know what to expect. The worst but funny thing is when you got more than 1 beginner on the chairlift... oh the struggle and random grabs And the T-Lift or whatever it's called is also weird..
Ran Peleg keep your eyes up! Try and look at where you want to get too as you come off the lift.. don’t look at your feet! And don’t give up with the t bar it gets easier
my tip, when getting off a chair lift lean forward not backwards. It’s better to fall forwards than down the back of the hill (you’re probably thinking how could that happen but my friend did it the first time they got off a chair lift, went backwards like 10 ft)
T Baker Haha it’s ok. One time my older brother (I was like 7) let me get on the chair lift without him, and they had to stop and made me jump off the chairlift because I couldn’t reach the bar
You are so marketable, I dont understand why you dont have merch? Develop a logo and maybe staring out with a moisturizing lip gloss. Just a suggestion.
@@7thlap Nah. Maybe like 80-20 if you're hella tall and skinny af or short and hefty. Almost all based on weight because the length of the side cut and the control of that side cut is manufactured for weight distribution across the board.
Competitive snowboarding stunt art? Yeah the socks thing is important. Getting a blister or cut on your toes is easy and causes you immune system to dip.
The jeans thing is a joke right? That's an old jerry joke from the 90's or even before my time. They get soaked and refreeze then become rock hard. Haha, and heavy. Ask the Guch about his old Janko jeans.
sleepyfu Just saw gender that’s funny 😆 I looked all over my board couldn’t find the Dick Required fine print anywhere. Weight, ability, boot size, terrain, I’m in for those with ya. Happy shreddin’
@@T25de People sure get twitchy with anything "gender". I got the dick and all my boards are from the ladies collection. The last upload in my channel happens to be snowboarding, I was riding a Solomon Gypsy, yes a women's board. I'm the last person to say you should ONLY pick boards from the dudes section or vise versa. My post from the feed's main response copy/paste on why gender is also a factor. "Female riders (generally) have wider stance compared to male riders of the same height, due to the leg/torso ratio, and wider hips, so a properly designed female specific model in the same board category/size vs male's should have a wider stance reference point, slightly softer flex due to the wider stance has less leverage to bend the board while carving, and narrower board waist for smaller feet/boot size." Height matters due to stances width, if I gain 30lb next season, I wouldn't want to ride a board that's 10cm longer than before, I would look for stronger flex in the same size range.
She seems to be watching a video for beginners who would crash a lot. Because most of the gear shes talking about is for crash protection. Looser fitting clothing gives the experts like her the freedom to move freely and nail the big moves, but beginners don't bust big moves so they can use the extra padding.
Cool video! Weight is actually a pretty big determining factor in your board length, your board doesn't know how tall you are just how much force(weight) is being applied!
I know this is super old schoo and quarantine has gotten me super bored so I'm replying. I hope I'm not being offensive. Honestly wish this season was open so we could all forget this pandemic. Any whoodles, I can't explain the reasoning very well but I know it's not a lb per cm. A 200lb guy doesn't ride a board that's 200cm. I just know each size has a range of weights so that the rider's weight is distributed throughout the board properly if that makes any sense lol
Do you think the following is true? Skiing is easy to get started with but you are limited when it comes to tricks Snowboarding is harder to get started but it allows for more creative routines
Sampat959 skiing is easier to learn.. if you’re going on holiday you’ll pick it up faster and be able to explore more terrain. Prepare to put some time in on the bunny hill learning to board.. Creativity is limited to the user only not what’s under their feet!!
Could you make a video on gear you would recommend? Especially types of boards for different types of riding? 😁
Definitely agree with you about the chair lift. It's very difficult & something people always overlook when introducing friends to snowboarding.
What's up Chloe fellow goofy here too. Keep posting stuff! can't wait for snowboarding season to start
Goofy gang wya? Anyone else say wassup when Chloe said wassup?

Yes if you ever come to crystal MT WA I will slow the lift for you
These videos are cool. It’s like peaking into a professional’s brain in a very candid way.
Good vid I agree. Keeping it real. Finally know what a gaper gap is
This was cute and I did enjoy it, especially bringing up riding in jeans. Haha!
3:15 no do not wear jeans on the mountain, you will look like an all time jerry

Denver just got dumped on all that fresh powder 😍😍😍
Chloe, thanks for providing advices to the Barnies (beginners) out there.

My nephew got off the lift too early when he was like 6. That was the day I realized I'd be a terrible parent. I totally should've grabbed him.

Board is by weight not height, he’s correct
Is it not a mixture?

My son did major damage to his arm and shoulder the first time out. He’s in the Air Force!
SNOWBOARD WITH ME, u live in my neighborhood LOLL
Adam Lopez Locals know where she’s at. Find her on the mountain lol

I’m weird I skateboard goofy but I snowboard regular

I snowboard in jeans, gaiters and a turtle neck. Is that wrong?
Mike Latta yes

It’s true
Your height is not a factor
Weight / height / feet size / gender / abilities / terrain are all factors for board selection.

Height isn’t an issue 😘

Most of the advice reviewed are actual decent advice for beginners.
Can you speak Korean and do you know what Koop is like for example BTS and BlackPink and EXO. if you do plzzzzzzzz like the love your vids
How about surfing, you ever tried it?
im also like 130lbs but im on a 145cm

I sprained my wrist cause I tried to watch a UA-cam video on how to snowboard
Your board should be selected by weight because of the materials in the board!
mike guest depends on what your riding
@@ricekrispy4909 such vague statement I cant say your wrong
yea my board goes by height but i have a race board
You need to upload more often, how are we supposed to last a whole week without Chloé time!
Leashes are mandatory. Breaking a pair of straps at high speed may release the board and cause injuries to other.
