I have been going to Mablethorpe from being a baby I’m now 57 and have never known about the tide warning bell a must to visit next year when down that way

I think someone has rebuilt the pirate boat on new Brighton beach. I can not beleive you have all that beach with no one on it, bet they are all squashed up on the beach in Mablethorpe 😂

Was there today and found the hut has been dismantled for safety reasons. The hut's roof had collapsed. You can still sit there but all the memorabillia has gone

It got washed away but I think they have re built it

There is a tank on the beach just up from where you was, if you go to Churchill carpark it wont be as long as a walk. Dont know if you have been there yet?

Enjoyed your outing,Neil. That looks like a lovely beach.I’ve heard of time and tide bells 🔔 but I’d never seen one before, until I watched this vlog. Interesting. There must be several located in different areas, but I’m sure a lot of people will see them and think they are just markers of some kind. They are a great bit of equipment,to warn of the incoming tides.

As others have said, the green plant is Samphire. We pick it around The Wash. You want the bigger bushy ones as it saves time when you cook it and remove from the 'branches'. We wash it the boil it for a few minutes. This allows you to hold the bottom of the stem, then with finger and thumb grip directly above and pull. This slides it off. Pop it in a bowl and cover with malt vinegar. You can also have it on fresh bread and butter, preferably while warm so it melts the butter, and sprinkle on a little vinegar. I don't know if it still is, but for a while it was the 'in thing' for every restaurant to have on their menu's.
