You can actually see the edge of his foot, and the angle it's at, pressed against the side of the boots at 1-43. It looks like it's close to a 45-degree angle. It would be awkward and uncomfortable to walk with them I'd reckon.

I think the court cases and the Trump campaign rallies these last few months, beginning a lead up to the primaries, may have motivated him to be more specific in his references to the future Sultan of the Cellblock.
