The Sonic franchise is full of characters that seek to protect the innocent, save the world, and accomplish any other heroic feats. Of course, with so many Sonic Heroes (yes, we worded it that way on purpose) out there, there are just as many Sonic villains opposing them. For the most part, many of these villains have not had to endure any lasting consequences for their actions since they start wreaking havoc again in their next appearance. Today, we are finally going to make them face the music...in COURT!

The problem with putting Iblis on trial is he wouldn't be able to understand anything that is happening because he doesn't have a mind, he just is a mindless beast.

Well in his future, there IS no law. No real society, no courtrooms, no prisons. There is nothing to hold him accountable. So it would be kinda hard to take him to a court that doesn't exist.

Reprogramming is actually a very scary sentence for a robot. As the MegaMan Archie Comics explained it, “…but then I wouldn’t be ME anymore!” It’s basically full identity erasure.

So long as some backup memory of Metal Sonic (in this case) would be stored, I'm preety sure it would be utterly terryfying - watching your body do something while you're just hanging in nowhere...

They're more along the lines of reluctant accomplices. They go along with the schemes, but they don't do much to actually make the plan a reality.

I just realize by "eternal imprisonment" for that jerk that is Erazor, is actually like, "I can't do anything but scream internally about it". He doesn't even get just ended his existence at all, he basically got a fate worse than death penalty. (Which is what is canonically done to him. Throwing the lamp into the sea of flames doesn't change the fact anyway.)
When doing Nintendo theories, I mean the most popular theories from all Nintendo franchises like

As for Zavok…you forgot to mention the implied temporary deaths of Amy and Knuckles. Which he would be responsible for.

Awesome Video! And Sonic is a LOZ fan. And some of the villains are similar to them like Zero/Infinite are like Sonic's version of Skull Kid/Majora's Mask and Mephiles is like Sonic's version of Ganondorf.
If we counted the cartoons, Eggman would probably be given the death penalty considering SatAM.

Least on the bright side, we know Eggman has a softer side under his hard shell, thanks to his AI daughter, Sage who appeared in Frontiers.
There's a glaring lack of The End here. Between multiple genocides, destruction of multiple planets and manipulating Sonic into doing its bidding, I'd say capital punishment wouldn't be anywhere near enough.
As much as I understand your disappointment, I don't think the end would be fitting here. It's just an omnipowerful being with unlimited hunger for destruction, and it's not like it's possible to face a bigger punishment by causing more destruction at a point... As for manipulation, nah. The funny thing is it didn't actually lie, especially considering Sonic managed to free his friend while on Rhea island. It just didn't tell him the risks of absorbing cyber energy is all. The End served its purpose in the game for what it was supposed to be (a "surprise" final boss after you learn the ancients' story), but it was not interesting at all. It didn't get any meaningful screen time either. Mass genocide and destruction - that's all, really. A boring villain in this take.

Crime: attempted murder
Sentence: 5 years in prison plus community service
Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic Adventure 2). Also using Sonic X as a reference.
Crimes: theft, attempted genocide
Sentence: 15 years in prison plus community service.
They were following orders from villains on this list, which is why they are only honourable mentions. But they should still face justice, in my opinion.
Silver and Shadow aren't technically villains.

Hey you guys with Power Rangers cosmic Fury coming up this year I was hoping maybe you guys could do a comparison video comparing each Power Ranger season to its Super Sentai counterpart and determine between each Ranger show and its Super Sentai counterpart to figure out which one was better and which one was not if the original Super Sentai was the superior version or the Power Ranger adaptation of it we got here in the west was better. There were a lot of death sentences in this video, and that’s not counting other villains who weren’t put on trial. What if you sentenced Crash Bandicoot villains for their crimes?
I mean, Sonic villains were preety often just literally really evil creatures wanting to destroy and kill, or were seeking global domination so... Yeah, it's just a franchise of big events happening, but I guess it also makes our playthroughs seem important and rewarding (Although I didn't really enjoy how The End in frontiers literally said something like 'you killed many gods and immensely powerful creatures, but I will prevail'. So yeah, we got big time villains there because Sonic is made to be really powerful and I guess it makes some sense.

Hey people who are in charge of 1upBinge. If you want to do Sentencing Video Game villains for their Crimes, please do sentencing Ace Attorney Villains and Danganronpa Culprits for their crimes. After all those video games/visual novels actually do revolve around courtrooms, trials and crimes and the vilest of them being murders and murderers.
I know that some of the Ace Attorney Villains like Joe Darke and Dahlia Hawthorne were sentenced to death and Frank Sahwit was sentenced to prison time, but we don't know what happened to the rest of the Ace Attorney Culprits. And while Danganronpa Villains were all executed, I am sure you guys can come up with more realistic sentences for them instead of the over-the-top executions Monokuma put them through.
Amy Rose will get stalking because before She appeared and as of today She is still here. She is stalking sonic because She is his love interest and attractive to him and loves him so much She wants to marry him and date him and etcetera.
She is also a fangirl of him as well even officially confirmed and is actually canon by Sega and Sonic Team themselves.
She will also have a using illegal deadly weapon and using a deadly weapon change because She has her hammer. That is actually so heavy and made out of the world's hardest metal ever and so big as, Well meaning It can easily kill someone and smash someone head right to pieces and in half.
She will also get a trespassing charge since She will sometimes go somewhere She is not supposed to be in and sometimes didn't ask permission to enter in one of Sonic's Adventures sometimes.

There’s also characters who, started out as villains, or were tricked into doing the wrong thing for somewhat justified reasons.
The first being Knuckles the Echidna. You could say he tried to attempt murder by trying to kill Sonic, but it’s unclear if he was trying to kill Sonic or just get rid of him. So, since he realized he was tricked and helped defeat Eggman and has been a trusted ally and friend of Sonic’s since, he shall be pardoned.
Then, there’s Silver the Hedgehog, who would be charged with attempted murder. Unlike Knuckles, Silver actually did want to kill Sonic, but that was because, like Knuckles, he was tricked into believing that and helped Sonic stop the real threat, as well as becoming a trusted friend and ally of Sonic. There’s also the fact that he did not seem to be taking any joy of hurting Sonic, he didn’t want to hurt Amy when she jumped in to protect Sonic, and even questioned if he was doing the right thing (there’s also the fact that the timeline got erased so those events never actually happened, but whatever). So, since he did actually try to kill Sonic but never did and saw the error of his ways, he will be charged with a year’s community service, which, looking at Silver’s character, he’d be more than happy to do.
And last, there’s Shadow the Hedgehog, who is a doozy, with attempted genocide. He did learn that he was doing the wrong thing, but the fact that he was willing to go through with that is enough to land him into serious trouble. Even after he has joined the good side, he has more aggressive tendencies to his actions than others. But due to the fact that Shadow has done some good things and helped saved the world several times, he will be charged with 5 years in prison, but can get out early with good behavior.
There’s the possibility that I could have gotten some things wrong and didn’t hand out the right punishments, but I don’t know much of anything about court, and this was just for fun, so don’t take this too seriously.
Considering Shadow has been shown working for G.U.N., and the President of the United Federation seeming to have a liking for him, I think Shadow has been pardoned.

These Sonic the Hedgehog Villains caused a lot of harm and they definitely get what they deserve based on their penalty plus we can't forget that Metal Sonic kidnapped Amy in Sonic CD. Although I do feel bad for Merlina though plus she's the only villain that changes.

So basically almost all of the sonic villains on this list were sentenced to death with only 3 not being sentenced to death. If this were to happen then Sonic would have very few if any enemies thus meaning that he could retire and have a normal life with his friends. Do a part 2 to this please as I want to see the rest of the sonic villains and their crimes and their sentences. Can you please include Shadow, Gerald Robotnik, and Rouge and the rest of Zavoks Allies? 17:48

@@poshiblitz I think they are probably only doing the villains in the video games to narrow out the sentences. They could do this as a future video however.
@@jfournerat1274 the deadly six didn't have much screen time besides Zavok, so it wouldn't be interesting. As for Rouge and Shadow, they are literally goverment agents as of Sonic 06, so I see it as pointless to make up sentences for good characters. And don't even bring up boom shadow here, this simply doesn't exist in my head...
Even if sll his villains were dead, Sonic's life would be anything but normal.
