For past beauty regrets I thought you both were going to say baking in the sun. I know Stephanie has talked about that before. Baking in the sun and over tweezing my eyebrows is definitely mine. I wish I was more informed in my 20s so that in my 40s I wasn’t paying the price. Luckily I learned pretty quickly in my early 30s. And I was in beauty school at the age of 16 where I discovered waxing my eyebrows. And that was in the late 80s and 1990. I still can’t grow back those bushy brows are used to have.
Love this!! But please tell me the point of buying a good moisturizer if you use a facial oil. Is it true it can't break through the oil, so your skin is getting no benefits from the moisturizer?
I love, love the MaeLove vitamin c more than the Skinceuticals. Maybe it’s because I use P50 1970 and MaeLove is 15% instead of 20% but I see more brightening with it and it doesn’t turn yellow.
I stopped using a retinoid when I was pregnant and then 8 months later my OB GYN was like "You realize you really didn't have to stop using the products, right? None of that enters the blood stream or the placenta." Meanwhile I had given $200+ to my mom and she fell in love with all of the products and I had to repurchase everything,Haha. .
Do you have any opinion about the Timeless brand? A lot of consumers use their Vitamin C with Ferulic instead of the Drunk Elephant C Firma. I may have missed it but I have not heard you ever speak on the brand.
I did a crap ton of research when I wanted to try dermarolling. I got it mainly to help with product absorption, so I got a very small needle length. I end up using it twice a year, because the routine to sterilize and prep is lengthy.

Sorry but I find one thing a little confusing. If ingredients don't penetrate our skin why have parabens been found in human tissue? I am not trying to be controversial I just find as many people saying it's one way as those who say it's the other way. Similarly some derms say vitamins don't penetrate the skin deeply enough to make a difference. Other derms sell those very products. Can anyone explain based on science?
Parabens are in a lot of foods! And derms disagree as much as facialists/doctors/bloggers and brands! 'Penetration' is the key. Most things will only go as far as the epidermis so it's a mute point for the most part. Sorry if that just adds to the confusion. xx

Caroline, may I ask how you layer serums in your routine in more detail and if you use the same products for a certain amount of time (like 4-6 weeks) for efficacy’s sake? I picked up a vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, and a retinol, and different oils but I don’t know how to best layer them, and if it’s good to switch out brands or keep the routine the same? No notification?! Ugh! I truly think one rip off in the beauty industry is outrageous costly eye creams. I’m 48 and don’t even use one. I’ve used tazorac and retin-a since I was 24. So I just use Drunk Elephants moisturizer. I would just advise to the women out there to read the ingredients in those miracle eye creams and don’t buy out out hype or emotions.
