there's another problem with Maroes, what the hell will happen if both players have Maroes? Who's board would it be? I can grasp that both player's affects can happen at the same time, but the board is the flavor right? It's a bit of a hit on my personally though. I started playing Hearthstone right when One Night At Karazhan came out. I was a foolish ftp who purchased the first wing, and I used every card I could obtain in a ftp mage deck with Fireland's Portal, Pantry Spiders, Arcanosmiths, and of course Moroes. I used to get so hyped up when Barnes summons Moroes and I go "Wow the intended combo the designers intended! Dang I'm a genius!" I'm sad that non-competitive legendaries are forgotten. I can imagine someone having nostalgia towards making horrible decks with their first legendaries in the form of Splitergraft or Flark's Boomzooka
Its very basic one Maroes is played the board changes, the second is played the board changes again. They dont get instantly played when you draw it...
4:15 they allready do this when spectating both friends in a casual map, it should not be that hard to make. just make so you can hover over them like normally.
Something not mention in the Spawn of Rag is that with a 2 mana 1/1 shaman card you can make it 0 mana, for a small mana cheat. Doesnt seem like much, but it gets you 1 more spawn easier. Plus there is a legendary from ungoro that loves of the idea of +35 hp to go with his taunt.
With prophet Zul, you could just have the opponents hand replace your own hand after you play it, and you play your choice from the hand. And yes, they could play their topdecked card but then you made it so they couldn't make their optimal play, with a fairly ok body alongside it.
1. Kind of disagree on Spawn of Rag. The Echo is obviously too good, but it will probably live a turn very rarely and thus will most often be a worse Elven Archer 2. Sea Guard seems kinda weak. You will rarely want the freeze (as there are usually better options for that effect) and otherwise it is just a conditional Saronite Chain Gang with 1 more attack (and this isn't that great). It might just be playable in a defensive mage though
You can only pull that off turn 1 if you're going second and also have Ray of Frost in hand. Thats a 4 card combo you have to get on the mulligan to pull off. Too inconsistent to be a real problem. Plus your opponent would also have to play a minion turn 1, which isn't a guarantee either.
I can't believe you looked at a card where the creator said they made it for fun knowing it was broken and docked it points for them not trying to balance it
@@NightKev I mean Yeah, basically. If his review system is explicitly based around if cards are standard ready, don't review cards that aren't even trying to appeal to your standards, especially when you and the creator both admit that you shouldn't be reviewing the card in the first place
Illuvial Ok? I’d argue it isn’t fun or creative enough to be a meme card. The boards don’t make enough sense and it wouldn’t make sense to have a card do this. Maybe a tavern brawl where you discover I could possibly see, with this card not included, but then the problem is, who chooses the board?
@@rickhaavisto9023 And clearly your idea of fun just differs from the card creator's idea of fun. If someone comes out and says "Hey here is a card that obviously has design issues and wouldn't be balanced but I think its fun and cool" Don't try reviewing it under your standards of "Card has to be standard capable and have genuine chance of being printed to get a good score"
he said if it were already frozen you would get 6-6 worth of power but could you not just target the same frozen minion again? the text needs to say "with only taunt" or am I missing something?
Best way to view tiny Rags is as 1 Mana 1/1 Divine Shield, Echo, Rush. They will attack at the end of your turn => rush They won't take damage => Divine Shield They will be cleared immediately => nothing else Make it 2 mana, should be legit for a legendary.
Most of the time they will be cleared before your next turn starts but there are some decks where if your play a couple of these on an empty board (or luck out the rolls clearing the board) you basically win the game. It should be fine at 2 mana but you need to be very careful when designing cards with such high ceiling.
Except targeting is a huge deal. Your card might just get played on 2 mana, this wouldn't, even though this has the advantage of a continuing effect, it still should lose due to the lack of targeting. If it was 2 mana it should be at least 1/2 or something, the exact properties would get figured out by balancing it in game, but no matter how much trump hyped it up, it wouldn't get played as it is on 2 mana by anyone but the most devout memers out there. Despite the small inaccuary I do like your analogy.
Prophet zul could hidden counter 1 card in their hand for next turn. So if the card was played it would be counterspelled or burned. You can show 10 cards by the same visual as your hand and after you pick one the hand disappears
4:10 For the showing of cards, i think maybe it can replace ur hand with the cards in your opponent's hand and when you play the card, it counts as u guessed dat card and u get back ur hand
The Design Problem you had with Prophet Zul didn´t prevent blizzard from making Ghastly Gravedigger - it also says "choose a card in your opponent's hand" even tho it only shows 3 cards of there hand ;)
1:00 the card is actually insane. Being a 0 mana spell it draws a 1 cost spell for free with spirit of the frog which starts that whole drawing chain. Its like a situationally better innervate in a deck that runs 3-cost "auctioneers". A 0 mana spell with no text would be run in shaman, its just free cycle
You can fit your own ten card hand on the screen as well as the opponents . You could simply flip the opponents hand to make it visible . Wouldn’t even take up any extra space .
Party Planner Maroes is actually balanced. If you consider the randomness of discovering from a pool of 24 different boards you have a very slim chance of getting what you want and even then considering that you have no knowledge of what deck your opponent is running you could benefit them far more than yourself. It's a very risky card with a high reward up to RNG.
Trump sometimes complains about some really easy to solve stuff, like with Prophet Zul: just replace your hand with your opponent's hand and pick the card you guessed. I'm not saying he is, but sometimes it feels like he is reaching for some arbitrary reason to dock points from a card and sound smart from pointing it out, like with that "Battlecry: Gamble!" legendary card.
@Kyle Dunnell You could just add a "Swap Between Hands" button onscreen, it could even replace the End Turn button since you would never realistically play this card and immediatly end your turn
I think Demetrius the Dastardly would have been a great release in Knights of the Frozen Throne when Treachery was still in standard. (Treachery: Give a minion to your opponent)
Delay could be crazy strong with right overload synergy because it overloads you again for free. Potential for game breaking aggro or OTK applications.
The design of Party Planer is off because if you play it on turn 1 your opponent then counters itself with a new board from your opponent. I like the idea but it does too much. Even if you drop the "start of game draw this" and make it "start of game "animate" the board" just feels weird
Honestly if it just changed to "Start of Game: Select a different board to play on" with no other effect, itd be fine as a fun card. Maybe make it a 1/2 so its not completely powercreeped by most other 1 drops.
3:44 You could sort of fix this card by making it a discover effect, and then making the stat's of the minion better? Still would be a good counter to high cost cards, and you could do some fun stuff like stop your opponent from playing a big card on curve. No one would play it but it's still a cool idea.
I would argue that party planner could be a good card A few changes 1 remove start of game and make it like the quests where its always in hand unless you mulligan it 2 turn it into a spell so no body left behi nd 3 not really a change but with so many board's and only 3 options would be impossible to build a consistent deck for it
Im a bit late to the comments here but I'd like to point out that on the last card, Sea Guard, the text says "an enemy" while ray of frost says "a minion", this makes the spawn a second Sea Guard a 50/50 but that would still be pretty strong The think that I would think is a crazy combo is frost nova, on a large board you could reliably spawn 4-5 Sea Guards.
How? You can only Play 2 Sea Guards which give you 2 more, so a Max of 4. and Thats an 11 Mana combo you are talking about, so you would even Need evocation. 4 Card 10 Mana combo, Summon 4 3-3s with Taunt and freeze the enemy Board is powerfull for sure but its Not Even close to busted.
Now that mini rag is more balanced than priestess of fury by a mile so why the heck not. I mean at least mini rag goes away when you cast arcane explosion or any other one damage board clear. It's really easy to get rid of.
8:44 Trump you should remember that it may be a good card in wild to discover because it has taunt and can be picked up on stonehill defender wich is gonna be huge in odd pali
To Prophet Zul: The hand of the enemys card will be shown to u like this: Its shown like its ur own hand but they have the same particles like the curse in the enemys hand. So instead of ur own hand you have the enemys hand and like play one card to choose it. After you choose the card you get ur own hand Back
Counter argument to the idea that you can’t fit 10 cards on a screen in hearthstone. Your hand can have up to ten cards in it and you can see it just fine by using your finger or your cursor to scroll over cards. Not saying Prophet Zul is designed well but I think it’d be possible if you replaced what is usually your hand with your opponents hand and the card you “played” would be your guess to try and counter their card.
@@zacharylegates no, for seppuku (Yes I know that is what the person really meant.. But it still doesn't work). Seppuku is voluntarily killing yourself (or chosing an obligatory killing.. Moroes party planner card could lose the draw this at the start of the game effect, and become a "Until start of player's next turn" effect, and it would still powerful, but also fairly balanced. Also, maybe drop it to like 9 board effects/passives just to make somewhat consistent.

I can imagine someone having nostalgia towards making horrible decks with their first legendaries in the form of Splitergraft or Flark's Boomzooka
was playing in rank 25 against a druid with a golden copy of floops glorious floop in his deck.
Its very basic one Maroes is played the board changes, the second is played the board changes again. They dont get instantly played when you draw it...
@@asp_asp oh oops
4:15 they allready do this when spectating both friends in a casual map, it should not be that hard to make.
just make so you can hover over them like normally.
How do you think that would work on mobile?
Reddit told me my 4 mana loyal companion was trash - discover and summon an animal companion - RIP top cards of the week for me lol
Honestly, I probably like that better than the real card animal companion...
Thats almost broken, Reddit is stupid
Something not mention in the Spawn of Rag is that with a 2 mana 1/1 shaman card you can make it 0 mana, for a small mana cheat. Doesnt seem like much, but it gets you 1 more spawn easier. Plus there is a legendary from ungoro that loves of the idea of +35 hp to go with his taunt.
With prophet Zul, you could just have the opponents hand replace your own hand after you play it, and you play your choice from the hand. And yes, they could play their topdecked card but then you made it so they couldn't make their optimal play, with a fairly ok body alongside it.
de
1. Kind of disagree on Spawn of Rag. The Echo is obviously too good, but it will probably live a turn very rarely and thus will most often be a worse Elven Archer
2. Sea Guard seems kinda weak. You will rarely want the freeze (as there are usually better options for that effect) and otherwise it is just a conditional Saronite Chain Gang with 1 more attack (and this isn't that great). It might just be playable in a defensive mage though
What about double elemental invocation and frrezze shard on turn one or two?
You can only pull that off turn 1 if you're going second and also have Ray of Frost in hand. Thats a 4 card combo you have to get on the mulligan to pull off. Too inconsistent to be a real problem. Plus your opponent would also have to play a minion turn 1, which isn't a guarantee either.
I can't believe you looked at a card where the creator said they made it for fun knowing it was broken and docked it points for them not trying to balance it
What do you want him to do instead, not rate it at all?
@@NightKev I mean
Yeah, basically.
If someone comes out and says "Hey here is a card that obviously has design issues and wouldn't be balanced but I think its fun and cool"
Don't try reviewing it under your standards of "Card has to be standard capable and have genuine chance of being printed to get a good score"
I LOVE sea guard, can easily see as an in-game card :)
he said if it were already frozen you would get 6-6 worth of power but could you not just target the same frozen minion again? the text needs to say "with only taunt" or am I missing something?
wow this ragnaros spawn is the idea behind demon hunter {priestess of fury} and that sucks
how is priestess of fury not removed yet
Best way to view tiny Rags is as 1 Mana 1/1 Divine Shield, Echo, Rush.
They will attack at the end of your turn => rush
They won't take damage => Divine Shield
They will be cleared immediately => nothing else
Make it 2 mana, should be legit for a legendary.
Looking back from saviours of uldum the swordfish looks extremely close to restless mumy. Coincidence, i dont think so.
4:10 For the showing of cards, i think maybe it can replace ur hand with the cards in your opponent's hand and when you play the card, it counts as u guessed dat card and u get back ur hand
I'm surprised Trump didn't touch on mage's critical mass of freeze cards when he talked about his pick of the week
There will always be a critical mass, at least when you see it as a critical mass. Maybe he changed his mind
Demetrius' art made it to the game
Looked at newest comments first to find a comment talking about this
The Design Problem you had with Prophet Zul didn´t prevent blizzard from making Ghastly Gravedigger - it also says "choose a card in your opponent's hand" even tho it only shows 3 cards of there hand ;)
maroes should be a random board. That makes it a meme card and not overpowered. And start it in you hand like a quest.
1:00 the card is actually insane. Being a 0 mana spell it draws a 1 cost spell for free with spirit of the frog which starts that whole drawing chain. Its like a situationally better innervate in a deck that runs 3-cost "auctioneers". A 0 mana spell with no text would be run in shaman, its just free cycle
totemic might isn't played, so I doubt this would be either
You can fit your own ten card hand on the screen as well as the opponents . You could simply flip the opponents hand to make it visible . Wouldn’t even take up any extra space .
How would that work at all on mobile?
It would still work in wild! Some Reno lists run Treachery+Doomsayer.
The dog was meant for the grand tournament
2:24
Not according to the author, and I’m gonna take his word over yours.
@@rickhaavisto9023 you can see that the card has the shield from the grand tournament
Mr 121500 and you can hear that the author balanced this against Dire Frenzy, a card not existing in Grand Tournament.
Pick your poison.
bickflick Yup, either way it was a design problem
Mr 121500 There’s a reason I gave you the time stamp, listen to Trump...
to show ten cards you could have the 4 cards and then a little next arrow thing on the right side of that line of cards to look at the other ones
4:45 I love it when there's yugioh art on the cards... Nostalgia
honestly id love to see party planner where each player picks a board and it randomly chooses which one
7:00 How can you fit so many cards on one tiny screen?
It says discover, that means it will show only 3 random ones
I think that showing you the enemy's hand should be done by swapping your own hand with his and adding a little swap around button in the corner
3:44
You could sort of fix this card by making it a discover effect, and then making the stat's of the minion better? Still would be a good counter to high cost cards, and you could do some fun stuff like stop your opponent from playing a big card on curve. No one would play it but it's still a cool idea.
That's a lot of changes to make it work and it's still not that good of a design - hence the two star rating in design.
idk man i feel like some of these 1 star balance cards are actually 5 star design... i love that lil Ragnaros
I think delay may work as a card that something gives you 2 or 3 free copies of.
When you were talking about a balanced version of Prophet Zul, it reminded me of a Rogue secret I made a while ago
If Demetriuses effect ever gets created I'm crafting whatever card that is instantly for shenanigans.
wait would not sea guard summon a full board if you have already frozen something?
I would argue that party planner could be a good card
A few changes
1 remove start of game and make it like the quests where its always in hand unless you mulligan it
2 turn it into a spell so no body left behi nd
3 not really a change but with so many board's and only 3 options would be impossible to build a consistent deck for it
This probably isn't gonna be seen, but it should be pointed out Bowmaster's Assistant has the grand tournament insignia behind the text.
Im a bit late to the comments here but I'd like to point out that on the last card, Sea Guard, the text says "an enemy" while ray of frost says "a minion", this makes the spawn a second Sea Guard a 50/50 but that would still be pretty strong
The think that I would think is a crazy combo is frost nova, on a large board you could reliably spawn 4-5 Sea Guards.
Enjoyed the final card reveal. Kept things interesting.
Now that mini rag is more balanced than priestess of fury by a mile so why the heck not. I mean at least mini rag goes away when you cast arcane explosion or any other one damage board clear. It's really easy to get rid of.
"0:05 lets start with a cutie" "trump shes 12! " *DOOR BREAKS DOWN*
*FBI Open up!*
8:44 Trump you should remember that it may be a good card in wild to discover because it has taunt and can be picked up on stonehill defender wich is gonna be huge in odd pali
Wow, Bowmaster's Assistant is now a shaman card
Spawn of ragnaros can be used with bloodlust or any other card that can buff multiple minions
But it can't attack.
To Prophet Zul:
The hand of the enemys card will be shown to u like this:
Its shown like its ur own hand but they have the same particles like the curse in the enemys hand. So instead of ur own hand you have the enemys hand and like play one card to choose it. After you choose the card you get ur own hand Back
Spawn Of Ragnaros: Echo . Cant Attack . At the end of your turn, deal 1 damage target chosen randomly
Delay could be broken in wild with Tunnel Trogg to get him up to like a 8/3 by turn 2 or 3
How do you manage to pronounce sword wrong (4:44) then pronounce it right (4:53) and then pronounce it wrong again (5:06)
10:00 Fix for spawn of Ragnaros: just change it to deal 1 damage to a random character. It becomes a catchup card, which could sudoku hilariously.
@@zacharylegates no, for seppuku (Yes I know that is what the person really meant.. But it still doesn't work). Seppuku is voluntarily killing yourself (or chosing an obligatory killing.. Where a good buddy cuts off your head. It was a way of saving face or some sort of cultural protest.. Your killing yourself for a reason, not just cutting open your stomach). Seppuku as we envision it was rarely done because of how painful a full disembowelment ACTUALLY is, it is portrayed that way by Japanese media because of stories that were told at the dawn of the samurai (which were probably bullshit. Eight foot long arm? Come on). Though I would like a card that allows to kill yourself in style lol. But I play dota so that is kind of normal to me
The mistaken word 'sudoku' is intentional, it's a popular meme, if you can call it that.
As for 'suicide for a reason', fair point, although no hearthstone player would admit that their 'sudoku' was by accident.
pretty easy to show opponents hand, just code for the hand to flip and you can scroll through the cards like it was your own hand
2:08 The day you can have 8 minions on a board is the day I get to legend.
Why did trump even mention then 3 for the freeze guy? Turn 1: potion of freezing, 2x evocation and play the minion. 2x 3/3s on turn 1.
4 cards is harsh, which means it's fair. With 3 cards, you can do it on turn 2. Or add the coin for turn 1 still
That's kind of ambitious for wild lol. It's the same format where paladins can have two 8/8 molten giants and a 3/4 high priest thekal for 3 cards on turn 2 or 3, the same format where spell hunter (and big priest to a lesser extent) can consistently can get a 3/4 barnes, 1/1 y'shaarj token, and 10/10 y'shaarj on turn 4, the same format that can consistently get voidlords on turn 3 or 4.
Getting several 3/3s as an "insane highroll" seems modest compared to a lot of stuff in wild.
The Party Planner would be a really fun Tavern Brawl, thats about it.
eldritch blast warlock card
3 mana deal 3 damage enemy overkill recast again.
in d&d eldritch blast is a beam that splits into 2 or 3 beams thus keepinh the flavor and its like a 3 mana explosion trap
Lots of cards can be shown on mobile like they do with opening packs, with a scroll-able horizontal list.
you can show the cards on your hand and choose it like playing a card
Anyone watching this after Pen Flinger?
is nobody gonna point out that the artwork in "raging swordfish" is legit just copied off "Saber Shark" from yugioh?
Im glad i wasnt the only one lol
people dont make their own art
Moroes party planner card could lose the draw this at the start of the game effect, and become a "Until start of player's next turn" effect, and it would still powerful, but also fairly balanced. Also, maybe drop it to like 9 board effects/passives just to make somewhat consistent.
I feel Moroes would be more fitting in one of the single player campaigns as a boss or something and the battlecry would be its hero power
