  • Kiko/Spanish cross goats, extremely parasite resistant Billy goats for sale. These goats are performing well in some very tough country. With the constant drought in south Missouri, these goats are doing well on brush and broomsedge. It's incredible how well the animals body condition is maintained on less than stellar forage supply. For more info on securing some very easy keeping low maintenance Billy goats, go to our website: greenpasturesfarm.net and email Greg.

    Perfect timing for a Judy video! Cute goats, and I'm amazed what good breeding programs can do.

    Kiko all the way. There are actually buck tests held every year at universities in Oklahoma and west Virginia that collect data like REA, ADG, and parasite resistance. Kikos dominate the tests every year.

    Greg, I attended your recent grazing school. AMAZING. I’m gonna be a rancher soon.
    Question on these goats: are they broke to a hotwire? Or does he use a more robust and more permanent fencing system for the goats.
    Finding goats broken to a hotwire is like the holy grail of goats. The Goaty Grail!

    Thanks for the video. We had goats that we never wormed either but we got rid of them though. The one goat was awesome but she was a bully to all our animals. She was broke to a single wire poly braid even. The other one wouldn’t stay in a single poly braid and she started eating my fruit trees so she left too. I really liked our goats but I didn’t want to deal with either attitudes.

    Hi Greg, I've tried emailing you a couple times, but your server is bouncing them back and I don't think the e-mails are getting through to you. Is there a way to call you, or is there another e-mail address? I might be interested in these goats. Thanks.

    So I have a question... You said that if his goats can't take the worm load, then he gets rid of them... He just can't keep him... So is he selling them? Is that his means of getting rid of them, or are you speaking about culling? I'm just curious because there's a possibility we might be interested but would only be interested of course in worm hardy goats. Thanks so much!

    • @gregjudyregenerativerancher
      @gregjudyregenerativerancher  Рік тому +1

      The goats in his herd have never been wormed, ever. He is following the exact same protocol that we did 20 years ago with our St Croix sheep flock. By not worming you allow the animals to develop their own parasite resistance. Some animals are not able to do this, sell those and keep moving forward.

Are the ones he is currently selling having parasite overload problems or is he selling them because the flock is too large, even though these particular goats do well with their parasite load?

      What I got from this video is that as a result of the long term drought in Southern Missouri, this man is selling 13 to 14 of his Kiko/Spanish cross male Billy goats. If I understood Greg correctly, all of his current animals are as parasite resistant as this man has been able to breed them to be.

    Dad once said to me let's go out and get the stink blown off. For some time after that thought that I must smell bad. Since he sometimes called me Murray as in come on Murray let's do this or the other thing( Murray was his kid brother if I wasn't called Murray or Linda he called me Philip Dad's twin brothers oldest child)) I don't think he realized how a young daughter would take the suggestion that I was stinky. He only did it the one time but I have never forgotten it don't worry I didn't hold it against him. I suppose you could say my sense of humour was a bit lacking at the time. And what a brother could take and not worry about might be different. Perhaps? I must admit I didn't like getting in the tub on a Saturday night it took a lot of reminding but once I was there it was even harder to get me out..odd isn't it. I don't remember him ever calling my sister's by a boy's name I must be the only one with that particular memory .I think I will check with my sisters tomorrow. We all were David Wayne until birth then they had to come up with girls name I am named after mum's favourite cousin and my grandmother Mabel we'll sort of she left the bell off...thank goodness.
    Thank you for inspiring my trip down memory lane🤗 see you in the next one😘💞💕💞🎃🖖🖖🖖🖖🌟🍀🌟👍👍👍👍🎃🙋🏼‍♀️ I just thought of dads nickname Mr. Abernathy I will explain it in another comment 🤗
