So happy that you have added the plant series to this channel.
I remember when Erin from the Impatient Gardener was talking about this plant and she pronounced it fat shedera. It was so funny and made the plant sound much more fun.
That’s exactly what I thought of when I saw this video. Love that I will forever think of that pronunciation when I see this plant.
Funniest story ever… I am half distracted and this video popped up. When I looked at the title, I thought “that’s weird. Jim’s video is in another language.” 😂😂😂
😂
thats so funny!!!!
Happy to say I can testify after 2-years with this plant in Zone 7B Maryland. We have it planted by the front door on the north side of our house. It gets full sun from sun up to 1-2 pm then its full shade and protected from wind by the house. It is growing beautifully and gorgeous.
Great Plant! I'm in zone 8b Tallahassee Florida and have 3 growing on trellises in various parts of my yard in shade, very little, if any, sun. They grow like weeds and brighten up shady parts of my garden.
This might be my favorite plant ever. I must grow this!
A plant on the top of my "I Want One...or more" list!!! 😁Thank you, Jim. 😊
Thank you Jim. 🌺💚🙃
A friend of mine grows this in zone 7B. Fatshedera are great looking plants.
I've had fatsia survive even a cold zone 7A winter in the coldest part of my yard. Fatsia is probably a (southern) zone 7 plant. What complicates things is when they keep issuing these "new and improved U.S. zone maps." You must know your area/garden and take all the zone maps and historical zone maps into account when deciding what to plant. My area is a solid zone 7B and has been since the history of zone maps.
I’m so glad to see an updated video for this! I’m struggling with mine. It’s growing, but only has to main stems. It needs to be fuller, so I can cut the top down now and it’ll branch out the bottom? It’s flopping it’s so tall! Thanks for any help! I’m in 8b (now lol)
Have you seen the specimen at Longwood Gardens inside crawling up a column? It’s a beast! 15-20ft tall? I am so happy to have this in the garden, wife got it for me online, and can attest it propagates pretty easily.
Thanks Jim,
If my neighbors have English Ivy (on the other side of my fence), is there any chance of this crossing with the Ivy?
I’m growing this in Los Angeles, zone 10. It’s in a pot in full sun and the leaves got burned in the 100 degree weather.
Hi can this be grown in nj zone 7.if not an it come in the house in the house
