I think Informant loops on Taskmaster in the "stay Alter-Ego" Widow decks might be legit. Once you have the Safe House, it will basically remove any risk of losing to scheming. A nice, ultra-thematic idea that is certainly worth trying out. Though, thematically, I do have to worry about the ethics of SHIELD allowing Quake to get away with repeatedly shooting their Informants.
Great breakdown, yet again! I really like Practiced Plan, especially for Widow. I think it might be one of the missing links in the alter-ego builds. Between Covert Ops, Breaking and Entering, and being able to more easily recur preps that don't require hero form is cool, like Espionage and Spycraft. Maybe it won't be as viable, because many of the preps are so strong in hero form, but you could camp out in AE and build up a bit more, more akin to Ironman. Secondary shout out to Informant which can specifically be great with Widow's Taskmaster pulled out by Face the Past.
Regarding the second card, "Prism Dust". While it doesn't do much damage. It might be meant to be used against minions with the new Keyword - "Vulnerable". Which means they get discarded when they would be stunned or confused.
Absolutely. Funnily enough, I said that aboult Vulnerable minions straight away on the live reaction on Nelson's channel - then completely forgot about it here having got caught up in their conventional values in existing content. Great shout!
Great breakdown of the cards inside of fury's deck! I am always such a horrible judge of card quality before playing with anything, but I look forward to grabbing Fitz and Simmons with build support!
Both justice cards maybe one ofs for some Black Widow decks. May want 2 prism dusts for a float deck, especially if you are shuffling in horror or fantasy! I think fitz-simmons is too expensive outside of shield. I'm not even sold they would be worth it in War Machine with our current card pool, since his techs just sit there once played. Maybe if you are running repurpose War Machine or sonic rifles? I think tech will be getting a fair amount of love this cycle so their value will likely rise. I love the design of Nick Fury Senior. You have three very desirable options, which is just awesome. One thing I don't like about Nick Fury, where you have an objectively correct action to take 99% of the time. I've never used his thwart option, and I can count on my fingers how many times I've chosen the damage option. I've used all the options on Professor X way more than I've ever not drawn three cards, and X has been in the card pool much shorter. Super Spies just seems stupid if you are multiplaying. Super easy to trigger, insane value at 0 cost, amd those two "ands". 3 threat and three counters? It would have been great as "ors" only.
I have to imagine for Super Spies it means you put any combination of 3 counters and 3 threat, such as 2 counters and 1 threat, not 3 AND 3. That would be craaazy strong! But given its tricky wording I wouldn't bet much money against that being the case either. But it's probably not.
@VillainTheory That would be more balanced! It's still super good, especially for Maria. I'm pretty sure if I'm playing Nick with Maria, I'm probably still giving her all the counters most of the time. She can repay with me a free ally or a tough.
I think these justice and shield cards are great boost for consistency in the war machine float deck, cheap way to confuse minions that you can recur every time you flip down to alter as long as it’s in your deck. Edit: maybe I should say I hope it will boost war machine lol
I think they will! Just perhaps not as much as Nick Fury or Black Widow? But definitely eager to try them with him and maybe they're even better there. I really think Fitz grabbing Shoulder Cannon early is going to be incredibly helpful. With two supports helping with tech, I'm feeling pretty optimistic we'll get even more tech this wave which will add even more value from the new supports to the characters (like War Machine) who already have signature tech.
You are right. I don't think Rapid Response needed a boost 😅 almost broken combo, I think. From more positive side, I like how it (Practiced Plan) improves all preparation cards and their consistency.
Leo Fitz seems great, and is going to be in all future War Machine decks...I'm not sure he really pairs with Repurpose as much because it only searches your deck.
I was ready to defend Agents of SHIELD but, having glanced back through Maria and Nick's cards again, they do seem overall far more limited in which heroes will like them than usual. Will reserve judgement until everything is revealed but these cards definitely seem more niche than some expansions.
@@VillainTheory yeah usually boxes have cards like Prof X or Suit Up or player side scheme that you have like 5 heroes immediately you wanna add the cards lol. Now nick precon is almost only useable with BW, WM (maybe even) Maria Hill is almost only for her, since those cards are expensive
Just been informed it's Thanksgiving over there in the US! I hope you're all having/had a great day!
For the US, today is Thanksgiving, and outside of delicious food later, I'm thankful for you, VT, and your content.
Oh of course! In my British ignorance, I forgot. Hope you're having a great day and I am always thankful for your supportive and/or funny comments!
While it might not be the strongest I can't wait to make a Black Widow Informant/Disguise deck and use Taskmaster as a voltron ally

Once Taskmaster is out, that will be very fun. Perhaps him being on the artwork is no coincidence?

I definitely think it will help the AE builds! And generally be fun. We also have Disguise now making a pretty compelling alter-ego package

I’ve heard you mention pocket sand many times. Is that a reference to something?
It's an old meme thing! I don't even know where it's from originally
@ oh ha ha I guess I’ve never seen that one
Worst use of Nick Fury Sr giving Nick Fury Sr Tough. I think the 3 threat is great for side schemes
Ahaha, giving himself a tough is an option so bad that it hadn't even occurred to me
Maybe if the villian hits really hard and you know he's attacking with overkill and no piercing!
Is this probably the first box that has terrible aspect cards except for like 2 to 3 heroes?
