I saw Britney first around 1999 when BOMT got out and they launched the video in MuchMusic, I was 7 y.o.

I've never seen this before and it's great! Four things about this though:
1) the amount of times they replayed "Sometimes" when she has said over and over again she can't stand that song
2) her mom is so super controlling of her especially at one point during the interview she interjected and wouldn't let her finish speaking before she answered for her. Ridiculous!
3) I and no one really realized how overworked she was back then saying things such as, "Ugh tomorrow when I have a a day off" :(
4) Once you read or listen to the audiobook you realize how every interview takes on a different perspective and it's incredible to hear her story!
She only ever said “I never liked that song (“sometimes”) anyway” and that was in 2004… you’re reading into it way too much. And as far as the workload goes - You have to understand this kind of schedule was totally normal back then especially for new artists that have to do a lot of promotion and make themselves seem relatable and present,this was her commercial peak and of course her team and record label wanted to make the most of it. There’s nothing weird about that. Was it a lot of work for an 18 year old? Yes. But it was the standard. Nowadays her or Beyoncé or Rihanna and big household names don’t have to do half of the things they did back then because they’re at a stage where their names alone sell. Back in those days and those stages of their careers it was not the case. I hate how you guys wanna make every single thing she’s ever done in her life into exploitation and abuse.
@@1204nedes some people read too much into things but not me. It’s been well documented that they overworked Britney way too much back then. Also, have you read her book or listened to it on audio? Her mom was really awful to her in a very passive, dismissive way because of her alcoholic father. Going back and watching these old interviews after reading the book makes you really think about what her life was like at the time from her pov
@@kirstenn1577 i actually read the book,and the focus of her family dynamics is mostly during 3 different times of her life: childhood, break up and cship. Again,being overworked was the case for 99% of artists,especially new artists of that time. The difference is she was the biggest of them all and the demand and interest people had for her was at an all time high. Its not uncommon for labels and artists to make the most of that momentum. It wasn't an exclusive thing for her. There is a thing called determination, focus,drive and work ethic and hers at the time was unmatched. For her in this specific time it was all fresh,new and exciting. It wasn't until after the break up that she was over it and it became overbearing and she just became less interested to keep going.
