The first time I had this I was very confused by the flavor. Being used to Tabasco, this was in a different universe. Years later, this is my go to day to day sauce. Price is great too. Nice review!
@@miguel061 something about the Mayan recioe is just really hot. I've fermented habaneros with scotch bonnets and blew through 10 bottles of the sauce I made with it. This brand doesn't get digested as easily. The heat going in is about the same as the fermented sauce I made but this stuff really upsets my stomach. It tastes awesome though. Yucateco is king of flavor for that price point
Just picked this one up and have been eating corn chips with it the whole afternoon. I'm a novice so it's quite hot for me, I prefer the el yucateco black habanero sauce but both are fantastic. Thanks for the review and please review the black one! I think that it's very unique due to the smokiness and colour.
The black seems very unique to me, not just being the only black-colored hot sauce I've ever seen, but the most straight liquid-smoke tasting hot sauce I've ever encountered. One of the more detailed reviews I've ever seen for their line swears by Yucateco black (aka Private Reserve) going amazingly well with steak. I like it a lot but it's so smokey it doesn't seem like a very jack-of-all-trades versatile hot sauce; it goes great with some things but clashes too much with others. The black is my third favorite behind Kutbil-Ik XXX (this one in the video, aka the brown one) and the Verde/Green Habanero. Try the Green one (the green habanero, not the rarer, meh-ish Jalepeno one). It's basically tied with the black one for heat and the best tasting, commonly-available green hot sauce I've ever encountered. Two of my former coworkers, who had a passing interest in hot sauce, both independently discovered it and immediately ordered mutliple bottles for their homes.
I tend not to like "smokey" flavors much... I've had a few friends who told me it was VERY smokey so I haven't tried it. My favorite of the El Yucateco is XXXtra Hot and the green.
Where did you get the hot sauce rack that's behind you? Could you direct me to plans maybe? BTW: XXX, Green, Black sauce on my table every day. El Yucateco is the best! Tabasco Scorpion sauce is great too!
Aaron, I actually made it. It was designed as a wine rack, as you can see in some of our other videos. Our buddy Josh who was on the episode had the idea for us to put the hot sauce bottles in instead. May design one specifically for hot sauce soon. Holler if you have more questions on it.
Had a random coworker bring in some caso at work and he poured some of this in the cheese. Ever since I can’t have cheese dip without it! Love this sauce
This is awesome. I was 80% sure the man in the middle was no FFP, and when he said "King of Flavor since 1968" I was ready with a *ding* and I knew 100%
Great video! I found out about El Yucateco because of you guys. I just got the green and red chile habanero sauce. Game changing in hot sauce. Thanks! 👍
Scoville rating: Kutbil-Ik XXX (the brown one and the one in this vid) > Verde (Green Habanero) > Special Reserve (extra-smokey black one) > Red Habanero (red one, most common and flagship sauce of the brand) > Caribbean (orange) > Chipotle > Green Jalepeno Putting aside the heat ratings, I find purely on flavor I would rank them almost exactly in this order (even though I haven't had the rarer Chipotle and Jalapeno in 10 years and can barely remember them, but I don't recall them as being anything special). Kutbil-Ik has an unappealing look to it, but it might be the best somewhat commonly-available hot sauce for flavor and habenero-level heat there is. Everybody that can handle higher habenero-level heat who I've gotten to try it has really liked it. (There's a decent CBS review of Yucateco's offerings with close-up pics, I'll post in response to this comment. In my experience comments that have outside links often get auto-removed on yt, so if it doesn't appear, just google "cbsnews" and "yucateco")
I'd be curious to know which they put above XXXtra at that event... 😏 They've added a few flavors since then but that was just in the last year or so ago, I think. (One has Ghost peppers.) And they're hard to find (I have a feeling people bought case loads to hoard when they were released and us bums couldn't get any.)
I know this video is old, but yeah I was so disappointed when Hot Ones stopped putting El Yucateco in the lineups. It's all like, small batch boutique stuff now (or, well, I'm sure it's not really like that, but they're all things you can't find in a store mostly.) Kinda sucks, cuz of the "general audience" table sauces, nothing compares to El Yucateco for me. I don't have the money to be buying all these expensive oddball sauces.
Again I know this video is ancient but... definitely review the green! I think that it is a similar "difference" from the normal El Yucateco, as the Serrabanero Secret Aardvark is to the normal red Secret Aardvark. Thanks guys.
Burnt plastic in a sort of bad and good way at the same time. Very weird burnt plastic or rubber flavor smell. Weird. Idk. I'm gonna have to acquire this taste I think.
Was eating food with this El Yucateco XXX sauce while watching this. To state my preference, I don't want a sauce hotter than this. On the first bite I ate, completely covered in the sauce, I hiccupped as well, not sure why. 🔥👺🔥
I finished this bottle in 3 days. Eggs, tacos, and everything else you can think of. Dank sauce!
My new fav!
i advise against it, i used to eat it like that too until i found out its got tons of lead in it
@@theonewhojustis6541 hahaha what are you talking about???
My fave💕💕💕
It's so good! Why can't they sell it in a big ass bottle? 😭

Thanks for the kind words. Gald you enjoyed it. We will keep the reviews coming!
Both are good but Tabasco has a stronger vinegar bite, especially at the very start.
Tabasco isnt Spicy at all its pure vinegar with a bit of pepper
Skip to 4:58 ...... And save yourself some bullshit
one of my favorite hot sauce. good flavor, perfect amount of heat, hot but does not burn your face off.
Same!!!
its too hot its not even enjoyable
@@zarz3049must have low tolerance. Ya just gotta gradually eat more spicy to bring it up. You'll appreciate the flavor as well with the heat.

I took a taxi home just to drench my chicken in this sauce
Hot Sauce emergency? Taxi saves the day.
Great sauce my favorite go to that is widely available in stores.
Definitely one of the best bang for buck sauces that everyone should be able to fine.

Thanks for the feedback. Teco Black has been on our to-do list for a while. Hopefully, we can get to it soon.

Working my tolerance started with Valentina now I'm on this one. Holy crap I am not ready.
Hahaha, you got it!
El Yucateco is great in soup. I made a tomato & basil bisque kind of a thing and the heat took it up a notch.
That's a great idea. Thanks for the recommendation.
It's good. The red is my go to. First time trying it, it was like drip drip...now it's pour pour. El Y is my fav...
We have had the red, but still need to do a review of it. Hopefully soon.
Maybe now's the time :)@@scovillionaires

Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks. We are glad you like it. Stay tuned, we should be reviewing a few of their new sauces soon.
It is interesting to see how ppl around the worls use this sauce as for dressing many dishes, here in México we use it to spice up sea food
Great idea. We will try it out on more seafood.
@@scovillionaires yeah is a total game changer haha
I put it on many dishes. There's nothing else like it.
New subscriber here! Keep up the good work 💪 🔥
Thanks! We'll keep making them if you keep watching them.
It's my "slather sauce", I wish they would package it in bigger bottles.
Haha, agreed. We definitely go through quite a few bottles.
You can buy half gallon jugs of it on Amazon

I'm on it, thx!

This is by far the best one , it goes on everything ! Its time to restock !!
Definitely one of the best bang for the buck hot sauces out there.
This hot sauce taste like home to me
But that might be because I'm mexican. Specifically Cherokee/Mayan. The flavor is a bit artificial but still good
Definitely a staple.
Perfect spice of hot sauce on the market
Definitely the best bang for your buck out there.
Put in ceviche it’s bomb
We have definitely done that before. You are correct. It is awesome.
Need to try that
especially when you dip with sour cream.... can't be beat

El Yucateco XXXtra, my main go-to! Their Green is also very good.

🔥 This sauce has burnt through some b-holes in my love circle
I love the red and Caribbean 👍
Hard to go wrong with any Teco sauces.
I enjoy the black label reserve
We have used the Black Label many times, but have yet to review it. We will try to remember to post a link here once we review it.

Try bravado ancho masala hot sauce
We do need to place another order from Bravado. We will make sure that one gets added to the list next time.

eat with some tortillas chips mam
