OMG, y'all are lucky, the closest I've to the Alps was when I visited my half siblings and their parents in Switzerland, they live on the only side of the country that does not have Alps and the closest I got to the mountains was like the center of the country (I think it was Basel or somewhere close) and I love mountains.

What was your favorite place you visited?? A lot of the popular destination points in Austria were closed for the winter. Curious where you were able to go during the summertime!!
It is a great area to visit overall, the Carintia province is a great area for hiking in summer, and in Salzburg the Old City is a great place to visit, so much history on show there, as is Hohensalzburg ford, and you will find plenty of other things to do. My favourite place in Europe is still Amsterdam.
Honestly- we just loved our Christmas spirit was prevalent everywhere even during November. There was a Christmas market, great food, great wine in every city! Have you been?
