Hello! This is incredibly late, but this sort of problem is intentionally ambiguous and really just made to stir people up. Some people are taught slightly different orders of doing things, and depending on how you were taught you will get different answers. Really, the question is poorly written; when you're actually doing math you pretty much always use fractions and avoid ambiguity. Dr. Trefor Bazett has a good video on this, that you can find by searching "Dr. Trefor Bazett 6/2(1+2)." The bottom line is that it doesn't really matter; people love to argue about this question because not everyone is aware of the differences in how other ppl may have learned things, so it very quickly becomes a "look how stupid these people are they don't know basic math" kind of argument where both sides think the other side is somehow failing grade school arithmetic.

Nithin will always vanish for the better part of a month and then come back up from the VOID on some new bullshit. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I saw the math problem and was like "oh simple algebra, just factor the constant into the two terms in the binomial and make that the divisor for six" but then I realized that would be one, which didn't align with the answer of nine, and after starting at for a solid 2 mins I realized it wasn't a binomial, but simply a PEMDAS, and was thus thinking in terms of eight grade math instead of fifth, misthinking that two constants were still a binomial which they are not, and then I felt sad. Anyway, good video
