Great reaction, but especially thoughtful analysis of this cover. No doubt Adele is among the best songwriters out there, and a wonderful singer as well, but Angelina just seems to be able to take an Adele song to a higher level. Angelina is indeed a remarkable young lady.

At age 15, Angelina just keeps getting better. Her ability to fully embrace a song, pay tribute to the original while making the song her own is remarkable. Angelina is the only vocal prodigy I know of in my 63 years but she doesn't rest on her natural talent. We angels (fans) continue to go easy on Angelina and her family, allowing them all the time they feel they need before allowing Republic Records fully promote her.
When I first discovered Angelina Jordan three years ago, I was amazed by the maturity of this little girls voice.
And, to be honest, I thought my enthusiasm would stop, when she gets older and that surprising "little girl factor" disappears.
How wrong I was...!!!

You may find this incredible to believe but as much as you think she is wonderful and extraordinary as an artist/singer you will find out she will have the same impact on you when you realize who she is and what her desires are in her life. Amazing.
Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced. Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan.
I always look forward to your reactions. This video was posted on the 8th day after Adele dropped the original. In that time, she learned it, and did her own arrangement, and did a one-take performance. She is brilliant in many ways. She also paid for this production out of her own pocket. The pianist is an executive at Republic and the director is also well known. You should take a look at the original once because you will only do it once.

Adele is a wonderful singer/songwriter and this song is fantastic.
Angelina is able to take it and draw you into the emotion and feeling of the song.

of the soul with more feeling than Adele could provide. If you examine it closely, you see where Angelina's
chameleon ability allows her to inflect Adele, Billie Holiday (breathy) releases, as well as the 'raw' unique style of
Jazz that Amy Winehouse was famous for. Add it all together and it's a four pronged attack to the soul that no

In fact, in one interview they ask her about her music school, and she said that she taught herself to sing. Some Eastern religions would say that she had honed this skill over multiple lifetimes. But they would also say that a person would have to be highly evolved to be able to use that talent at will. In an interview when she was 12, she basically describes that when she sings or goes on stage that she essentially goes into an altered state of consciousness (of course, told in a way that a 12-year-old would describe it). She describes it as a boundless place, full of joy and happiness, and when she is supposed to leave the stage, she just wants to be there and sing some more. She says she is never nervous because of this.
Nice reaction but I'd recommend one follow Angelina's work ethic and watch the original before reacting to her cover. Otherwise, no idea at all how she is doing, what she changed (if anything) etc.

I think Adele’s has made a wonderful song as usual about her own life and, in this case, about her ending relationship. She also performs it in an excellent way. However I like Angelina’s version a little better: to me there is more warmth, more emotion, more … heartgrabbing. Thanks!
I think this is her best work, to date, but I keep saying that with every new song she sings. The frightening thing is she has another 10 years before her vocals will be fully developed. I just hope I'm still here to hear her at her peak. Nice reaction Burnie!

In my opinion it's a mistake to listen to Angelina's cover of a song before the original, because when you listen to the original later there will be something lacking :p
Of course it's all about personal taste but for me Angelina usually does covers better than the original, and with Adele song I always say that nobody does Adele's songs better than Angelina :)

Hi Burnie. By all means, listen to the original and tell us how well Adele covers Angelina:-) Given how much Angelina you have reacted to, there's little to add here other than another fine job. As an alternative, I wish to add that your productions are really well done: good technically, good editing and commentary. I also couldn't help noticing (again) the mug shot of Elvis on your wall. I know there is mug shot of a young Frank Sinatra floating around. I'm thinking a motif of "mug shots of great performers" would make an interesting background theme. Hey Burnie, it's been a while since you reacted to Angelina. On Valentine's Day, she released her 3rd version of the classic jazz standard, My Funny Valentine, which has been covered by everybody (1,300 albums by 600 different vocalists). She is now the new standard bearer for this song, IMO. She just turned 16 last Jan 10th & her vocal maturity & control seems to have jumped a level. She took some different choices than Adele, but it sounds similar enough. No need to listen to the original in my opinion.
