So true- and it’s oftentimes in the people you’d least expect. I am marrying my little brother’s best friend in 13 days. For years he was my annoying little brother’s sidekick, went totally unnoticed by me. Even my younger sister had a crush on him once, and when she told me, I was like “ew really?” Obviously that crush eventually faded... but anyway after years of being indifferent around each other, we fell in love one night. It was our first time ever spending any time alone together, we were drinking jaeger on the driveway in Florida. We were on a vacation with a group of friends (well, my siblings mostly, we are all very close), and everyone on the trip had their significant other with them. We were the only two without a boyfriend/girlfriend. Anyway, the couples all fought and went to bed and we stayed up, talking and drinking. The night ended with a drunken make out session... and the next day I remember being totally smitten. I wasn’t embarrassed or disgusted at all like I thought I would be... I actually really liked it. We continued to secretly make out and stuff for a year, then went on another trip to the beach house that officially sealed the deal. I was so apprehensive at first, he was so not my type, so out of left field... two weeks after making it “official” I finally mustered up the courage to say “I love you.” He said it right back immediately, and I knew then that I was going to marry him. I was truly in a state of shock, it is amazing to me how God’s plan and timing works out even better than we could ever imagine. He is the greatest person I have ever been in a relationship with and he has already been a “part of the family” for years. I am just feeling so blessed. Sorry this is so long but I hope people reading never feel discouraged in their search for love. I was in a long and serious relationship in college that ended very badly... I was so upset, I was “old” and thought I would marry that man... it’s funny because after that breakup I moved in with my brother and his friend (my now fiancé) and to think he was already with me at that time is just crazy. I'm getting married in 10 days and I'm very nervous about showing my emotions in front of everyone because I know I'm going to cry. I don't even remeber how l looked the last time I cried. My husband and I were married in a beautiful park setting on Saturday July 21st 2012. I was 54 and he almost 58 at that time, my parents by my side, and as I walked towards him we both cried. This was the second time for both of us, and this time true love, I had never felt that in love feeling before. And we just celebrated 7 glorious years, and we are so happy!
