Luquillo, Puerto Rico's Water Wonderland

Every town in Puerto Rico Has its own magic and Luquillo’s is definitely its beaches. So if you’re asking yourself about “things to do in Puerto Rico”, you can’t do much better than Luquillo, Puerto Rico.
In this video we visit all of Luquillo’s main beaches and we show them to you in great detail. We start at Playa Fortuna, on the extreme west of the municipality. Then we explore the world famous “Balneario La Monserrate”, Puerto Rico’s best beach, if you ask me. Then it’s on to Playa Bandera, Costa Azul, Playa Azul, La Pared and others.
But first we go by San José Parish, an 18th Century temple that has some of the most jaw dropping woodwork anywhere in the world.
I also tell you a little bit about Luquillo’s history and about how it was home to Puerto Rico’s first independence party.
Then we go up to the mountains to explore one of Puerto Rico’s best water features.
Finally, we stop by “los Kioskos de Luquillo”, a place where you can treat yourself to Puerto Rico’s best culinary delights.

Great video. I was at las Pailas a little over a year ago. I paid for parking but not for admission. Is this new or legal? It seems that the parking spots belong to private properties. Are they charging to use their paths?

Thank you for your kind words. The river belongs to the people of Puerto Rico, but the surrounding properties are private. Hence, the owners have the right to charge for going through their terrain. Furthermore, they provide concrete trails (most of the way), ropes and chains to assist you, plus they keep the place clean and safe. Personally, I feel like the dollar per person is reasonable.
