My rescue dog got out on Monday afternoon and we found her today and, I've got to say, this podcast is at its best listening experience when I'm eating my first food in 2 days (probably tne best thing I've ever eaten. Core memory obtained.) and my dog is asleep, safe on the bed.
don't drink much either but my fav drink is a Moscow mule as well. supposedly the copper cup when its 100% copper actually affects the flavor. and I got one at a bar in SF in my party girl era that came with a sprig of rosemary in it and it was the best. there are variations of mules, like Kentucky mules that uses whiskey instead of vodka.

The way James pronounced Ice cream with the accent sound like asscream 😂 My weirdo foods I liked when I was a kid were plain rice with tomato ketchup and- buckle up- bread with Nutella and mortadella on it. The only thing I like about this food combo now is that it's rhyming 🤣 I love raw carrots too and I don't like making friends either. There's something uncomfortable about people you don't know. Aand I don't think that the sun is the reason for skin cancer. I believe that the sun is healthy for you 🌞

Sweet: Went on a date with my boyfriend to Bushwick it was just a super nice time. We went to a few vintage shops I found a cute green jumpsuit that I'm very exited to wear. We also stopped at this small hole in the wall record and graphic novel shop that felt like it was made for me and him. We also stopped at a Twin Peaks themed coffee shop but at that point we were kind of in a rush to get back so, I wasn't able to get anything. I really hope we go back to that area there was a lot of really cool stuff. Low: When we got back I got a really crummy email from my schools housing and it's just really been a headache this week. I just don't have the energy to be assertive and I was trying to come up with back-up plans which quickly became living off campus or living off campus and after talking to my parents that is like worst case scenario :( This whole situation has just made me realize how fricked up I am for after school. I wish I could say it put a fire under my butt and is motivating me, but instead I just feel paralyzed and overwhelmed. So now I just feel awful awful regret for any money I'm spending recently and I'm back to feeling anxious about getting groceries cause the cost just makes me feel terrible. I need to make money :(((

So I've got a food disaster, I was trying to do the keto diet thing (judge me lol, James is totally right about diets) and I bought a cook book of recipes. Saw a recipe for hamburger soup and the picture was *chef's kiss* Turns out either I'm a terrible cook or the cook book deceived me since it turned out a really depressing grey colour. Who knew ground beef and water was a bad idea? That beef thing with the raw egg on top sounds like gyudon! Very tasty! The weirdest food I like is hotdogs with mustard AND peanut butter. It sounds like I have zero taste after this whole comment but I assure you that vegetables are my favourite, some fruits too.
Weird food thing as an adult - for breakfast, maybe a month straight, I would eat sweet potato mashed on a piece of toast with almond butter and cinnamon.
Nice podcast today. Finally able to catch it live. My 7 year old eats raw carrots, celery, pea pods, spinach, and broccoli with no sauce just a few of her main favorites . She’s been that way since a young age. Now I’m hungry for lunch. Have a good rest of your day.

My husband does the chips and salsa bowl thing and eats it with a fork. I mean I don’t like watching him but I am glad that he finishes the crumbs because I don’t and then we don’t waste anything.
Worst food experience - One time in kindergarten, we were learning about the five senses so for taste they brought in a raw veggie platter and we were supposed to eat some of em. It had carrots, broccoli, celery, just like a standard platter from the store. Well I tried the raw broccoli and IMMEDIATELY ran to the drinking fountain (didn't throw up or anything, just needed to get it OUT). It was by far the worst tasting thing I had ever experienced in my life. If you can eat / enjoy eating raw broccoli, you are stronger than I will ever be. To this day I still remember the experience and will not eat it raw (cooked is great tho) 😣.
I tried a sriracha and peanut butter sandwich recently. Not bad at all, and really not too hot. I also like to turn leftover waffles into waffle sandwiches. It's literally a regular sandwich (mustard, mayo, spinach, tomatoes, etc.), but made with waffles instead of regular bread. It works. Great episode as always!
idk what kind of response i was expecting when i said everything hurts my tummy but now im embarrassed LOL i know it's probably ibs (definitely know it's lactose intolerance) but i already kind of don't eat most of the things they say to try cutting out so idk maybe i have parasites or something
Oh yeah, these days I traveled for the first time since becoming vegan and I had just a few options, I ended up asking for a dish without the meat, and when it arrived they put bacon on the beans, which is quite common in Brazil, but not that much any more cause is expansive nowadays, I immediately felt the taste and let me tell you, it was disgusting, funny how taste buds changes with habit. Cannot see myself eating meat, and for the giving it up sometimes, I can let it pass if is dairy or eggs but not the meat, my friends and family all know that I'm vegan, but if they give me something they put the effort in but forgot the eggs and butter, etc, depending I'll eat it or not.
my bf and i both hate pickles :') we have almost the exact same likes and dislikes when it comes to food. also raw carrots RIIIIP, and baby carrots are garbage in comparison. nasty things. i know i ate a lot of weird food combos as a kid, but the only one i can remember is steak and grape jelly 🤔

ooooooo *sun doesn't give you cancer* is pretty adjacent to p on the pod imo ahaha but tbh I would see why you would feel that other carcinogenic factors that can contribute to skin cancer might be overlooked since everyone assumes it's only the sun but that being said, you only need to look at Australia's skin cancer rates (very high) for it to just make sense that sun exposure and UV rates do also make a big difference I mean or you could read the science too but just generally supposing things seems to be the vibe, so I'm going with it
