A battleship named Josh, a nuke named Edward. What’s next, a BT named Kenneth? On a serious note, thank you for the kabooms! Us in the east enjoying what you have done in west
From the very few times I played, where I helped in the construction of a battleship and even went out with it one time, naming a battleship I don't think were something that was possible to do in-game. So seeing the usage of names for Battleships here is really fun. They should ad that to Foxhole, if they haven't already done so. It's the little details, you know?
Here’s some naval terminology and tips if it’d help. Turrets are usually assigned a number or letter depending on its position on the ship. For your battleship the front two turrets would be turrets A and B while the back turret would be turret X. When aiming in indirect fire mode I’d suggest you do something (especially against other ships and moving targets) called “bracketing” or “straddling”. Bracketing is when you aim at each end of the ship (bow and stern) and if they hit the water as near misses or hit the bow and stern then that means your shells are on target, the range is accurate, etc
Good content, and very funny! I helped the securing of Bridge, for the finally advance, glad to see this documentary of the final parts of the war success!
For those of coming across this video a decade or more later the colonials lost this war in part because they over committed to naval combat. While these battleships destroyed some coastal defences and sank some ships it did nothing to change the wars outcome.
Great video, Josh was truly the terror of the west… Also, what was up with the hatchet glitching under the destroyer, a bunch of us wardens were staring at the hatchet trying to awkwardly get away from the destroyer for 10-15 minutes…

As a Warden in Nevish, the only thing that ruined us harder than your bombardments was the shotgun-spread of facilities all over the region But beig shelled and invaded around the clock didn't help either 😅
Very cool vid just wish us wardens could have put up a better fight at that point in the war... most had already quit for the war, my regi was only fighting still because our base was in nevish... collies went around our bunkers in the east of nevish so it was super anti climatic for us. and the western nevish base builders did a terrible job preparing for the collie attack... some of that could be due to no strong counter to navel atm though.. and instead of potentially working on that dev mans have decided 110 will be a non naval war lol
@@spencer7k they seems like decently built bases.. thing is, naval guns are the ultimate demolisher.. once defenses get this beefy, the only solution is that.. it's not by luck that those defenses had to be attacked with 3 battleships.. we went over many plants to take over the region, and this was the only solution. the only thing that could have done better is to pre position ARtillery guns 50-100m out of battleship range, to nail them, but you need everything ready, and people to man the pieces at the right moment..
@@spencer7kThe only thing that could’ve been done better in this example is more howies. Which (in this specific example) can be done by having fewer other garrisons, which in turn opens this base for land attack. The other thing, as mentioned in previous comment, is artillery crew which requires people and space to place guns in. iirc we had none available at the time. But I do agree, some of the defenses in Nevish region were not great. Mainly because it was like 70% facilities.
I mean tomb father had fallen like hours after the nevish line became the front.. the western side of nevish was just not prepared period. And my main point is that the whole point of concrete bases is that it is meant to be hard to attack not something that can be demolished in under 5 min. It takes 24 hours to make in the first place. Even if the defenders had out numbered you 5 to 1 there is no counter to naval. And just so we’re clear that’s not a collie advantage. It’s just who ever has more boats late game, 108 proved that too. It would be cool to see a small costal gun bunker piece that builders could make added so there’s at least a small counter to just days of work being demolished like nothing
I usually play as a warden it has been a while since i have played as a colonial, and I have been meaning to switch sides just for the hell of it and i see videos like this and it just reaffirms my allegiance to the warden cause.
This video does also show how much naval artillery is in need of an accuracy nerf. Being able to pinpoint specific bunkers with such precision is... wrong. Not even modern naval guns can do it.

Some of that was due to skill issues with the bases in western nevish but yeah naval kinda just wins when attacking bases 🤷🏻♂️
