I heard someone saying “what triggers you in a moment is not the beginning of that particular trauma. Instead it’s a showing of what’s happened in the past that shows familiarity” … our emotions, triggers, etc can be showings of unhealed pain and while what’s happening in the present is valid, it’s our past that’s taking us back to a moment we’re not even in anymore . Hurt in the current because of those who hurt you in the past
