I just learned that my ex girlfriend died of a heroin overdose. She and I were still connected and great friends...she was the only person in this world I could confide in. I could tell her anything. She and I loved everything Maynard. Tool, APC, and this band. I will never be the same....I love and miss you Crystal...please meet me on the other side.
I had a friend like this that died in a DUI crash. Music homies. It was 20 years ago. I think about him all the time, especially when Maynard puts out something new. I hope you and Crystal meet again and in the meantime you find the strength to endure. ✌🏻
Homeless..and this comforts me. It takes me out of my lonely head, pain filled heart, out of the back of my truck and I travel through time and space into a different realm of just color and this beautiful sound. I just float. Maynard will never know how he takes me out of suicidal thoughts into a peaceful trance. Thank you Maynard, if you ever see this, thank you I owe my life to you many times.
Maynard will most likely never know the profound affect he has had on my spiritual awakening but nonetheless he has been a pivotal and often anchoring beacon in a sea of uncertainty. I look at him as a teacher and ascension master that leads the way in times when there is no one or nothing else that seems definite and worth continuing to...lessons and mentions of the beauty in life, in putting one step forward and tempering the shadows with the light to fully encompass what this world is offering you!!! Thank you so much Mr. Keenan. YOU are also a divine collision in all the lives you touch!!!
I don't want to crush your dreams but I seriously doubt Maynard is scrolling through UA-cam comments, but ya never know. Your holy spiritual master might just bestow upon your person the most sacred of likes like and as it is written you and MJK will accend together in a swirl of Nirvana complete with a bottle of the finest wine ✌️

This is, by far, my favorite Puscifer song, no question. What’s funny, is it reminded me of my daughter, only to find out later the song is about his daughter. The feelings I had when she came into this world. Just a beautiful song, and can never get enough of it.
"Hey, hello, a joy to finally meet you Hey, hello, Agostina Agostina Lei Li Maria" A beautiful song for Maynard's daughter. Hello Agostina, thank you for inspiring your father.
Maynard is a dad who has a lot of love and joy thanks to his kid's. I am happy that he is sharing that with us in some beautiful songs such as H and Agostina. I say thanks.
Trust me, It is about his feelings of doubt during the birth of his son Devo H. Keenan and how they were all washed away upon meeting him, I encourage you to look into it.
Tiny Tanya trust me, it's about maynard's abstinence and its collateral effects after a long period of being sober. I respect the fact that you can interpret it as something else, but i'm telling you, H. in particular is about heroine. for example, here are some passages: "What's coming through is alive. What's holding up is a mirror. But what's singing songs is a snake Looking to turn this piss to wine." "My blood before me begs me Open up my heart again. And I feel this coming over like a storm again. Considerately." "Venomous voice, tempts me, Drains me, bleeds me, Leaves me cracked and empty. Drags me down like some sweet gravity." "I am too connected to you to Slip away, to fade away. Days away I still feel you Touching me, changing me, And considerately killing me." "I have died and will die. It's all right. I don't mind." fun fact: I use to get real high on heroine (in my darkest days) and this song describes that astonishingly accurate, not just the way it feels but the way it enters the bloodstream, and the way it still haunts you after years being sober. now, let's say you're right. can you explain me how do those lyrics fit into your interpretation? i'm genuinely curious, my friend.
+DxSteve I see what you are saying Steve, but the song is named after his son Devo H. Keenan (his middle name is literally just H.) who was born in 1995, a year before the song was released. Much like Agostina is named after his daughter Lei Li Agostina Maria Keenan, which yet again, was was born a year before her song was released. The song H. does have a lot of lyrics that can be interpreted as being about the struggle of heroin addiction, I agree, however if you were to imagine the snake as a metaphor for his doubts and fears of becoming a father (a father as terrible as his own was)or maybe the people in his life telling him he will end up like his father, and the "blood before him" begging him to open up his heart again as his child looking up at him, the overall mood of the song changes. Especially at about 3:30 minutes when he is overwhelmed by the love for his child ultimately "drowning" the snake and breaking down the walls he speaks of earlier in the song. Accepting that the birth of his son "considerately killing" his previous self is a positive thing and allowing for the potential for it to continue to cause him to "die" and how he "doesn't mind" as his child will help him grow as a person. All of that aside, Maynard himself has made note of the songs meaning in live performances remarking upon how amazing it is to bring a child into the world and how H. is about that very thing. In the end the power to interpret lyrics and apply them to yourself and your own personal experiences is what makes music great, however it does not change the artists original intent.
Anrema can you send me the video where he acknowledges the song is about his son? I personally think you're kinda stretching the lyrics' meaning a little bit, but if Maynard himself says it's about his son, I got nothing to argue.
I *just* found out while reading his wiki article. I honestly didn't know what it was about, I kept thinking about the lyrics and the story he's trying to tell, but couldn't for the life of me figure it out. And then I read his wiki article and saw the note at the *very* end of his wikipedia article about them welcoming "a baby daughter, Lei Li Agostina Maria." and it all just clicked. I used to feel a sense of awe when listening to it, the kind you feel when you stare at the starry night sky for too long somewhere remote, but after listening to it again after finding out its true meaning, I realized it's a poem. A father's simple, honest, heartfelt declaration of love to his newborn daughter. The revelation turned a good, kooky art rock song into maybe the most beautiful thing I've ever heard recorded and makes me feel proud for being a Puscifer fan, because he's an artist that's brave enough to expose himself emotionally and share such a deeply personal thing with all of us. If you ever read this, MJK, thank you!

To be fair, the entire latest album is a bit of a departure from his previous work as Puscifer, but there's an insane riff that screams Puscifer in almost each one - the one 18 seconds into Autumn is a perfect example, I think.
I HIGHLY recommend seeing Puscifer live if you have the opportunity. I heard an interview on 91X the day before Halloween a while back and they were playing the next night in a beautiful theater in downtown SD. Nobody wanted to go with me. I went by myself-------------- MIND BLOWN.
