Great addition to my Phaeton. Had it installed by Straight Line Suspensions in Mesa AZ last year. Amazing how my drive has improved. Not to mention the piece of mind in case of a front tire blow out.
We have a 34 foot, 2008 Winnebago Sightseer with a Triton V10 on a Ford F53 chassis. We’ve replaced all the suspension components with upgrades like Koni shocks, new Roadmaster sway bars, Sumo Springs, rear Davis track bar and Centramatic wheel balances. The coach can be driven using just three fingers on one hand.
So I got the safe t plus and also Koni shocks front and back. I have a 2007 Itasca Meridian. Just finished 300 miles of driving on different roads. The biggest thing for me to share is the driver, I have a habit of over gripping the steering wheel. It is a sub conscious thing that you deal with while driving. I open my hands on the wheel with just my palms on the wheel, relax, you do not need to over grip. the motorhome will track much better. Again the driver, you can go into a corner with one turn and hold of the wheel. with out having to adjust the wheel a few to many times. you have to practice and be thinking and aware of it. at this point I can do it about 60% of the time if I am thinking about it. you have to practice, but tracks much better. Now for the shock. better ride with less sway or dipping as I call it on a corner, so the front of the motohome dips a lot less on a corner going down hill. left and right. then add the better tracking leads to a much better ride. truck wind?? We felt the top of the motorhome tip out away very little from the truck for seems like one second, but not into the steering. tracks straight.
I did order the saftplus and shocks from the factory in Georga, had them shipped to Colorado and installed their at Montrose tire and brake , both companies were excellent to work with.
Hi My wife and I have a 17 Thor Challenger 37TB 38' gas Class A. Driving our Challenger was a handful, it was White Nuckle, with constant steering imputs to keep it in the lane, especially on windy days. So after much research I decided we needed a Steering Stabilizer to improve the drivability of our coach. I've derived all types of trucks , from Big Rigs with 53' trailers, Low Boy trailers with Heavy Equipment, and even trucks Havling Explosives ! I've driven trucks in just about every state of Disrepair, so driving with the less than stable steering wasn't a problem for me ,but I knew my wife wanted to drive it also, and it might be necessary for her to be able to drive it if I was incapacitated in any way, and I did not feel comfortable putting her behind the wheel with that condition ( although I'm pretty sure she could have handled it, need be) ! We decided on the Stabiliser, and though it would be a good idea to have the Alignment checked, and adjusted before installing the Stabilizer. I found a local heavy truck shop that did Alignment work on RVs (Snider Truck Services), I took I there, they had it about 1 1/2 hrs. The tech told me the Alignment was off alot, and that all the steering components were in good shape. As I pulled out of the parking lot, back onto the street, I could actually feel a difference, the steering seemed tighter, more precise. Then when I got on the Interstate the difference was even more pronounced ! No more White Nuckle, Constant Imputs ! Now it tracked Straight down the lane, Hands off ! Also very little effect from overtaking, or passing trucks ! I still haven't gotten the Stabilizer, but still plan to add it for blow out protection . My advise is to have the Alignment checked, as the tech said that over the road trucks, and RV chassis are "Ball Park" Aligned at the factory, and most are never put into final Alignment ! Be safe, Have Fun, Enjoy Life !
Yes, a misalignment could also throw you off! But for us it wasnt the alignment which was confirmed at our 30K mile check up! The safe T Plus did make a difference for us and we have yet to talk to someone who said it wasnt worth it.
Just had the Safety-Plus big blue installed before our last trip. Our local mechanic installed it. It made a huge difference in the handling of our coach. Thank you for the tip.
After buying our used RV I was all worried about the handling on the highway. Ended up being as smooth as could be. I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Then, I later looked underneath & realized it had the Safe T Plus kit. Mine has the Blue one even though it calls for the Red, according to their website. Also, has the Bilstein shocks.
I see this video was uploaded on 6/14/2018...can you give us an update as I am considering adding to my Newmar Essex. Let me know...if it is still providing you the same steering and still behind this product as you were in 2018. Thanks
Matt & Maria from "Nomatic Native" has a few very informative videos also had their "Safe-t-plus" installed at the plant. What a Great product, been around forever, where have we been???🤔
What a difference this makes. We had this on our last RV - Thor, Hurricane and it totally change my driving experience. It was terrible before I think due to the light chassis 18,000. We just purchased an new Tiffin Open Road and after only 100 on the road home from the dealership it’s noticeably a much better drive with a 26,000 Chassis, much bigger wheels and Sumo Springs. I’m wonder if I should get one now or when I’m in Atlanta this summer?
Beware of there so called warranty. I had this on my rig for quite some time now, had it worked great till recently I've noticed play back in my steering again, so I called safe T plus and told them about my issue, they said how old was it , i said i bought mine around 2009 ? Or so , they said ya it sounds like you be needing a new shock. But since my was "manufactured" before 2009 it's not covered?? Really ?? They offered me a 15% discount for a new one ... sad ..
I Had decided to get one, but thank you for the video, also thinking about adding koni shocks? I have a 2007 Itasca. 43k miles. any thoughts, We are in Durango Co. and will be in montrose Co in June for a month, thinking of having it done there. have talked to a shop.
Yess, we dd that early on. We have added Koni Shocks and they are far better than the original ones!! Keeps the side to side rocking to a minimum now. We also had the rig four corner weighed so I knew exactly what my tire pressures should be based off my per tire weight.
It seems that modest of the Class C installs are on gas or front engine models. Are they installed on rear engine diesels as well? Same affect or success? We bought an 09 Tiffin Phaeton a couple months ago so our experience isn’t that extensive but the wind and semi’s can surely take some of the fun out of the day.
I added the same unit to our rig, made about a 50% improvement, still have some wander issue that we are working on. How many adjustments did it take? Mine was two.
Camp More Bark Less - It took them 3 adjustments after the unit was installed. 2 on side streets and one after we got off the interstate. So far so good!
When you were shopping for your motorhome did you consider Newmar Ventana Le with Comfort Drive. It’s their electronic assisted steering. Did you test drive a Newmar?

Eric Dee sorry to hear about your fingers. On the lighter side, you have fewer fingernails to trim.

Absolutely love our Safe T Plus, best upgrade that's been done to the coach. We're in a 2016 Jayco Precept 35S.
We agree whole heartedly!!
Just included Safe T Plus in our deal on a used Tiffin Open Road. Great info in the video.
Awesome!
We are having it installed on our coach at the upcoming rally (FMCA) in Perry Ga in March.
You are gonna wonder how you survived without them!

If you get it installed in Atlanta you wont have to pay for labor.

If you haven't already, have the Alignment checked ! Changed ours from Whire Knuckle, to a Pleasure to drive, just by having the Alignment set !
When you were shopping for your motorhome did you consider Newmar Ventana Le with Comfort Drive. It’s their electronic assisted steering. Did you test drive a Newmar?
We did not test drive a Newmar. They were out of our budget.
Cost for parts only?
Yes, if you have it installed at the manufacturer in Atlanta.
Can I ask approximately how much $$$
Greg Roche It was just over $600 but because we had it installed at the factory there was no labor charge. It was well worth every penny.
We just had it installed on December 19th and it was $632.19. Big difference in control of he motorhome and the staff are fantastic people.
