This was filmed in Raynes Room Studio, which was owned by Layne (actually attached to his home). When they filmed In My Room there more recently, they discovered something tucked away in the ceiling which they identified as from this shoot.

It's one of their early collaborations with Rachel. Can you hear her affinity for country music? Nowadays she is trying to focus on making her way along that avenue.
Always enjoyable to revisit VoicePlay from this era. You forget how good they are vocally when watching their more complex theatrical videos.

I agree. I don't forget though. With some videos, I do get a bit distracted, I must admit. I mean, it's still there, it's just not front and center. But not for long. All it takes is an Eli Rock God scream or Geoff to hit a bass drop, or one of the others to display their vocal talents that are impossible to ignore. 😄💙
I love this version. The only thing I’d like more of was when Geoff and Rachel duetted briefly their voices melded so well together. His deep warmth and her high clarity.
She is totally awesome - pity she and her family moved elsewhere (out of Florida) ... she blends SO well with VP! Great arrangement too... Layne is indeed a beast and Geoff's timbre is unique - a beautiful rich bass. Always love Eli and the other tenors! 🌹🕊
The first time I heard this, VoicePlay took me to something I never listened to before. I've always been more into alternative music than pop, so not a song I would have had a chance to hear otherwise. But I really love the clear tones of their voices. Something about those tones hits me as 'crystaline'. How appropriate for a song about Chandelier 'swinging.' And visually, it hits well how some of them look the other direction from Rachel - almost a shunning feeling to it until they finally join in singing words with her. Then we get a clear look into OUR eyes by each voice. Well played! And I'm pretty sure this is before Tony talks about treating themselves by playing into their theatrical side in "Phantom".
Since you love Rachel, as we all do, you will live Voiceplay doing Attention. It's fantastic 👏 and Rachel kills it

Rachel's voice is amazing and she works so well with Voiceplay. It's been a couple of years since she collaborated with them, I would love to see her back occasionally. But she's married with kids and a career in Nashville, so maybe it won't happen.

VoicePlay always manage to put their own stamp on any cover they do, while still retaining the heart of the original. And it's interesting to come back to older arrangements like this one, and compare it to where they are now. The evolution is fascinating.
