I wonder why there’s laws restricting the types of guns and access to those weapons.
Why can’t we buy a machine gun or a rocket launcher or a grenade launcher? Those stuff are much more deadly than a normal pistol.
Using a similar argument, if a tool is capable of killing or harming a lot of people, they would need to be trained before using it, like driving a lorry requires more training than driving a car.
It’s too easy to get a killing weapon and there’s not enough safety net or support to train the people who are using it.

Politicians understand that VICTIMLESS felony convictions that permanently abolish people's gun rights are key to the full abolishment of all guns and even ammunition!
Eternally removing gun rights from honorable citizens for victimless DUI crimes (Without vehicle accidents or even incidents) while conveniently allowing these same, newly created felons to retain "voting rights" based on victimless offenses (No injured parties) would persuade all "prohibited voters" to vote to disarm everybody for total 2nd amendment abolishment.
Make no mistake these newly created felons (Moms and Dads) with retained voting rights are coming after your guns and ammunition, now too! (For Equality)

    • @turtletruth
      @turtletruth Рік тому +1

Existing gun law unjustly punishes and permanently removes 2nd amendment gun rights for drinking & driving. Who is the injured party to question in court, and who is the victim when all offenses are pull-over-and-blow arrests void of the accident, incident, victim, or injured party? (This crazy law denies Jurisprudence!)
Michigan law says 3 DUIs in a lifetime create a permanent non-reversible felony. These newly created (Mom & Dad) non-violent criminals cannot hunt, and protect themselves, their wealth, or their family by firearm, ever! (A permanent felon!)
The obscure law has a nexus with federal law. It is based on imaginary death and destruction that drinking and driving often create and do not discriminate between "victim" and "victimless" offenses. (There's no distinction in law between driving accidents, incidents, or having a victim vs simple pull-over and blow arrests!)
When DUIs are in fact victimless, without having an injured party, the severity of punishment should never permanently remove 2nd amendment gun rights ...
This law lacks distinction between the two classes (With Victim/Without Victim) offenses!
AMERICAN LAWS CREATE SLAVES OUT OF THIN AIR!!

Most of the world doesn't consider it a right though, so why should we? With most of the world considering owning a gun a privilege, we gotta ask ourselves why we differ.
It states in the bill itself that it is to paramount to maintain our freedom, however, there are many other systems that share many of our freedoms without this unnecessary focus on guns. So what else could it be?
You heard the statistics for the damage that this system causes. Though I can't speak to the accuracy of it, I do know well that guns undeniably have a MAJOR role in much death across America. This points to the fatal flaws pertaining to the concept of owning guns being a right.

I lived in Baltimore most of my life and I’m still a resident of Maryland (that will change when I retire). This panel is still missing the point. Someone from B-more claiming they can go pick up a firearm, off the street, in ten minutes can not justify more restrictions on law abiding citizens. There have been more controls put in place since 1993, when I purchased my first pistol. For my most recent purchase, I waited nearly 30 days for my HQL to be processed, fingers and all, then I waited 7 more days to actually take possession of the new pistol. I will wait 90 days for a concealed carry permit and more fingerprints. Does any of this overhead stop that same man from going to get a firearm in ten minutes? No! Because in his example, he wouldn’t care about the laws. So, with all of this legal overhead, are we ( am I) more safe than 1993, when I waited 7 days… no. In fact, the longer you wait for a firearm, the less safe you are, especially in B-more. Especially with the whole nonsense about defunding the police. Even with funded police organizations, they only have an obligation to “generally” protect the community. They have no specific obligation to protect you (Try to sue them for not protecting you… it won’t fly). I’ll end my pseudo rant here…

Maryland is a complete police state and they revenue the public with traffic infractions and code enforcement etc to the point that you have to budget for it.
Btw I wholeheartedly agree that law abiding citizens should not be held to account for the actions of criminals, but sadly we almost only ever get more restrictions on our rights when someone commits a agregious crime. The laws that are proposed are also paperclipped with several other items, they aren't just trying to protect people in our legislative branch, they are pushing an agenda.

The right to bear arms, which shall not be infringed, has nothing to do with hunting or pioneering. It has everything to do with being a bulwark against tyranny, and the natural right to protect one's self and property.
Framing it as having a foundation built upon hunting and pioneering is intended to weaken the justification for the right itself. It opens the door for people to attack ownership of of a broad range of firearm types, and to say that the right is not needed in modern times, outside of rural areas, or potentially people with hunting licenses.

Being a gun owner, I contend that being armed makes not only myself safer, but by extension the people around me as well. No, it's certainly not a guarantee, but at least I have THE CHANCE. The beautiful part is that you don't need to agree with me to reap those benefits in the moment. All you need to do is stay OUT of my way! Sadly, even that seems to be too much to ask.
I hold no hate or ill will in my heart for those with a differing opinion. We both WANT the same thing and simply have different methods of trying to accomplish the end goal. Last estimate I know of, there are something like 400 million firearms? You will not ever, ever, ever recover more than a small fraction even with a mandatory, door-to-door Confiscation. You are sadly mistaken to think otherwise. Once that is considered, then gun rights for the average, law-abiding citizen are the logical result.
What is one MAJOR benefit that rarely seems to be discussed? Just look to Ukraine for the answer. One of the first things that happened was that they frantically handed out 20,000 weapons to their Citizens; the right step, but surely it's obvious that having that capability already in place would have been FAR more beneficial. An armed Populace makes a foreign invasion immeasurably more difficult. "A rifle behind every blade of grass" I believe is a popular quote.

My exposure through personal interaction is quite miniscule in the grand scheme, but I've run into nothing but regular, good and honest folk. I fully realize that observation extends to people on BOTH sides of this Issue, and furthermore, that the issue of Gun Rights doesn't blindly follow Party lines. It may do so in Party Policy, but as far as the PEOPLE in said Parties.....there are Liberals who own guns just as there are Conservatives who aren't exactly fond of them.
I'm an Optimist by nature. I believe the vast, VAST majority of the Public are honest, hardworking folk that I'd happily share a beer and a laugh with. Again, that extends on BOTH Party sides. That means that yes, I trust my fellow Americans with the responsibility that firearms ownership is. At the same time, My Optimism is tempered with a pinch of Pessimism too....that is, I hope and expect the best, but also plan for the worst, just in case. Do I expect a foreign invasion? No. That chance is really REALLY low. An absolute overwhelming majority of those homicides are being committed by criminals in the inner-cities. I'm not just spewing that out. This is from gun crime statistics that repeatedly demonstrate what I just said. Also, those fools are illegally acquiring guns to commit crimes including murder. The guns they're using doesn't land in their hands after passing a background check. They're felons who can't legally purchase and own firearms. Hence, they're not "trustworthy" and will fail a background check. That system is already in place.
We have hundreds of gun laws on the books. Look to Chicago or Washington D.C. etc... where they have the most stringent gun laws. Also consider that when the "other side" likes to quote the statistic of deaths by firearms, they never tell you that nearly 2/3 of those deaths were suicides involving guns.
"Sensible gun laws" will do absolutely nothing to stop the same criminal elements from continuing to commit crimes with guns. It will only further hinder and make even more difficult, gun ownership for law-abiding citizens.

    • @themessenger3216
      @themessenger3216 Рік тому

You misquoted that.. its subtle... but important. You forgot that hyphen between "self-defense". Alexander Hamilton knew that none was needed in the second amendment. "well regulated' means.. laws. The "declaration that he is referring to in this one passage from Federalist Essay 84 IS "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms" . It never existed as a right from day one.
It is no coincidence that this paragraph begins with "to the second".
      Federalist 84.
      "
To the second that is, to the pretended establishment of the common and state law by the Constitution, I answer, that they are expressly made subject "to such alterations and provisions as the legislature shall from time to time make concerning the same." They are therefore at any moment liable to repeal by the ordinary legislative power, and of course have no constitutional sanction. The only use of the declaration was to recognize the ancient law and to remove doubts which might have been occasioned by the Revolution. This consequently can be considered as no part of a declaration of rights, which under our constitutions must be intended as limitations of the power of the government itself.
      "
In his essay where he discusses "Militias" he does use the language "well-regulated" , HOWEVER , he does this ONLY in the context of people and Arms being under officer control and direction. ONLY in this instance are human beings "well-regulated" with the weapons of war.. ie handguns/ AR15s.
If everyone was truly self-regulating with Arms in America today then their would be almost no gun violence. It is far more prudent not to ARM anyone in the first place. people and Arms have been killing each other for 1,000s of years. This is called war.
What I have just shown you is based on these letters only.
“History may distort truth, and will distort it for a time, by the superior efforts at justification of those who are conscious of needing it most. Nor will the opening scenes of our present government be seen in their true aspect, until the letters of the day, now held in private hoards, shall be broken up and laid open to public view. What a treasure will be found in General Washington’s cabinet, when it shall pass into the hands of as candid a friend to truth as he was himself!”
      founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/98-01-02-3562
ALL of the Federalist Essays, both versions are just a subset of over 1000 of these letters. Benjamin Franklin was the original author of the second amendment. A timeless four part literal algebraic equation that explicitly describes "the arms being on trial and not the people FIRST.
Think hunting only but no human hunting. limited clip rifles only.
Just don't elect a tyrant in the first place.
The second amendment was a constitutional legacy from day one. It was a first impression by design. SOME of the framers knew Arms killed people. They ALSO knew that as human beings tend to read what they want too. "the right to keep and bear Arms" was just a sales pitch to get it ratified in a time of slavery and greed.
It is not easy to be a "candid a friend to truth". One must first acknowledge that its possible that others may be more educated and to a degree more intelligent than we are. That's not such an easy thing for the human ego to process is it?

Noah Webster defined "Liberty" as "the state of being free".
A Militia is just people and Arms. Put aside HOW they were used. Sometimes they were well-regulated but ONLY when under officer control and direction.
Regulate people and Arms (aka Militia) and do this well from a point of law to secure LIberty FIRST. The word "State" has nothing to do with a colony. The Arms are on trial and not the people FIRST. Liberty is PEACE. EVERYONE has a constitutional right to Liberty or PEACE as defined by the second amendment. Keep removing ALL Arms causing death. (hand guns and AR15s etc). Once this is accomplished the ONLY Arms allowed are those used for hunting .... but not human hunting.

@@freddygarfunkle8947 .... Per capita crime is absolutely not higher in red states. If you take a state like Texas. The top half dozen most populated cities (urban areas), are liberal blue cities. Those cities combined, could almost be considered separate 'city states'. Texas is being overrun by blue people fleeing failed blue states. Take Arlington, Texas for example. Its the home of the Dallas Cowboys and situated in the mid cities area between Dallas and Fort Worth. Its population has been increasing exponentially for years. The new residence are almost entirely non-white, and from liberal areas such as Chicago. It is also a refugee drop off city for Hispanics, middle easterners, and Africans. It used to be a convenient quiet suburb...now its population has ballooned to nearly 700,000 with skyrocketing crime. The same is true for El Paso, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, etc... Fort Worth avoided this phenomenon for a while, but its now falling prey to this scenario as well.
You can look at crime stats in any red state, and the major portion of crime comes from their major cities, which are almost always a liberal bastion, within the red state.
But the second you step outside of the liberalized cities, crime drops off precipitously. If you break it down to red and blue cities and towns... its exclusively 100% blue areas that have the highest crime rates.
By your logic....how do explain Illinois, Washington, New York, California...etc... I guess they may look lower on paper. Because they decriminalize a lot of things that get prosecuted in red states.

SCOTUS did not expand gun rights. What it did was strike down unconstitutional infringements on those rights.
After NYSRPA v Bruen the state of New York passed a law which basically made the whole state a sensitive place. The federal courts just declared that most of the law is unconstitutional and enjoined the state from enforcing those provisions.
