- Video made with Victoria Beckham´s different solo parts in the songs she wrote and sang with the Spice Girls from 1996 to 2001.
These music fragments are complemented with images from Spice Girls and Victoria´s music videos and concerts, that sometimes don´t fit very well because of technician problems. That´s why some sounds and images have some imperfections. Anyway, enjoy it.
Posh has a unique voice, but y’all really have to hear her harmonies with the other girls. People think Mel B holds the low notes, but it’s really Victoria. She is really underrated she plays her role in the group and does it great.

Actually Victoria was more of a Mid Register singer.Sometimes she even harmonized above Mel C and Below Emma.
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it odd that people say Posh can't sing? To me, her voice is the most noticeable out of all the Spice Girls. Yes, it isn't a 'powerful' voice like Whitney or Celine, yet it stands out. It's unique, sultry, stylish and oozes sex appeal. Posh also has a great vocal range, as shown on 'Holler', and, of course, her solo work. Her voice is zany, yet very winsome and original. Her elegant image, to me, is reflected perfectly in her singing and the way she sings. She is perfect and is definitely underrated as a vocalist. She is far better than the masses would have you believe.

But this isn't her singing live... This is a processed auto tuned version of her voice they'd play instead of having her actually sing during concerts and things. Her live singing voice is much different, and that's exactly the reason why you don't and won't hear it even when you think they're all live. You're listening to the polished up versions of her voice, you're not hearing her real live sound, that which makes people say she can't sing. You won't be able to find her true singing voice online because she was always lip syncing during concerts and performances.
@Dominika Becmer actually she's admitted most of the time they turned her mic off so no there really aren't many live versions if her singing probably because she isn't really a good singer. There's a reason she didn't join the reunion tour...
I have a theory and it is that, just a theory. But when you sing five part harmony, chances are you're going to double up on notes. Also it's possible that Posh's voice was good in the solos and for certain parts but stuck out in the harmony parts. So maybe on the choruses when they all sing, they tucked her sound down or off simply because it sounded better for the harmony. Again just a theory. I read below about someone saying she can't sing live but there is a song called IOU where she's solo and she sings fine. All of the studio recordings would have used pitch correct on all the girls, not just Posh. Same with Backstreet, N'Sync and pretty much everyone in the biz.

The thing is...her "voice" got her into one of the most successful girl bands of all time.

According to an interview with Melanic C, the Spice Girls were (at least initially) narrowed down out of hundreds of girls auditioning based on the way they looked and walked/carried themselves. Singing ability was more important in later stages of the auditions, though.
She's not a bad singer at all. I really wish she would have continued her solo career in music.
I wish she had gotten a solo part in Wannabe, as she may be the best singer of the five and it was their biggest song ever. Maybe she had a reason for it but I still wish she got one.

That's why I think Posh gets a bad rap. She didn't have a solo in their breakout song. And while she's not the best singer in the group (that would be Mel C.), she certainly isn't the worst, either (that would be Geri).
People try to act like Posh had a bad voice, and she definitely does NOT! Her vocals on Denying, Holler and Love Thang are IMMACULATE! Love me some Vicky!

The strongest Spice Girl I can give credit and respect. Been bullied in school (I can relate), handled envy during Spice Girls hey days especially with David and can hold together a marriage and family. Mad respect to the Beckhams. I never disliked nor hated them.

Each one was a style... Scary has a strong and bass voice. Sporty has a metal and high voice. Baby has a crystal and sweet voice . Ginger has a mid, melodic and teasing voice. The mark of Victoria's voice is the suavity, the mildness and the subtle sensuality...
I've always disagreed with those who'd say she can't sing.

Victoria's voice is special and she was my favorite one when I was little. I got to meet her in person one time and she's really cool and funny. I think she harmonized well with Emma and Mel C. The performance Naked in Instanbul is an example. Spice is 5 letters... Girls is also 5 letters, so all 5 members makes the spice girls.

Before she was in the spice girls she went to school for musical theatre. She can definitely sing. Geri was the one who could barely carry a tune.
She really owned Holler. Like dayum that was undoubtedly her era, it was exactly in her element and she looked AMAZING. Vocally she was my favorite part of the song and her parts in the wind tunnel were FABULOUS.

Emma and Mel C have always had the best voices of the group! They have more solos than the other girls. Mel B have a beatiful voice, but not so good as the voices of Baby and Sporty. Geri and Victoria have always been the worst and Geri IS MY FAVOR, but it's true. She's always been the victim of jealousy ever since debut! People have always hated on her, men because she has always been unobtainable and women because they were jealous. But she's always been my bias and still is ❤❤❤❤

She was the only spice girl who had every single she released on her own debut in the top 10. She sang theatre, and she had her album "Victoria Beckham" on the charts from 2000-2004 without dropping out the charts. She also, had 2 singles that arent on her only solo album to debut in the top 10. All her performances LIVE were acoustic. Dont believe me? Look it up. Victoria had the most success in all the girls solo careers. So what was that about that she cant sing?

What?!😳 She released only 4 singles in total during her short music career, her bandmates released much more singles per album and more albums too, they obviously couldn’t enter the top 10 every time 😂. As a fact Victoria only had one “local” hit which was Out of Your Mind, the song had success in UK but flopped elsewhere. Every other song and her solo album sold very poorly and didn’t have any impact on the charts. Vicky actually had the worst solo music career with no question. Mel C had the most successful solo career with several no1s in multiple countries, best selling album, best selling singles and tours. Geri had the second best solo career with 4 UK no.1s, Emma had the third but she didn’t gain lots of success. Mel B and Victoria’s solo careers were failures as a fact. As for the singing neither Victoria nor Geri could sing, the live performances always give evidence of one’s singing ability. Watch the Vmas or The Pavarotti performance, she sounded extremely bad. Vicky is only slightly better than Geri in terms of singing but she’s not a real singer, she can’t even sing better than her band mates. She actually found her path in fashion when she really shines like a Star, that’s her department. Love them all but I always get my facts straight.

I actually like her medium low register. Her parts in "good bye", "say you'll be there" or her solo in "do you think about me", for example, are beautiful. But I agree that her high notes didn't have the same quality.

it's weird how we become fans if people. I'm a 22yr old male and I'm obsessed with posh spice! not even victoria beckham the everyday woman or who she is now, but posh as she was in the spice girls and when they performed. I just loved the way she moved and looked on stage and I love her voice especially in too much and denying Saturday night divas. she obvs isn't the most powerful singer but she sounds rich and soulful and she knows how I use it

Her voice is suited for Broadway and Showtunes, not pop music. She sounded great on the R&B records and Forever is where she shines vocally. She even has an shelved R&B album from 2003

Her best singing was on their demos like the one at 6:12; I used to believe the hype about her not being able to sing until I heard those. She had a real silky smooth voice that might've gotten more use if they'd gone in more of an R & B, Eternal / En Vogue direction.

She’s not fantastic but it seems really odd the was relegated to such a small role. Given how rarely she sang, you would think she sang like a tortured cat. It’s not like she was making room for some serious heavyweights.
Not really odd to me. First off she is one of the two weak live singers in the group as a fact live her notes were usually flat, the other girls had more beautiful and interesting tones and finally according to what one of her bandmates said Victoria was the least creative. The statement was "when we were writing the songs Victoria was out buying shoes".

I wasn't a fan of her solo work, but always thought Geri was the weakest singer in the band...I never understood when people said it was Victoria, especially as she'd had musical theatre training.
I loved her in 2 Become 1 and Viva Forever! You can really hear her lovely sultry voice! Gives the songs some depth. I dunno, I sort of hear Toni Braxton in her voice sometimes.

Her voice is just not a pop music sounding voice. The tone of it is more suited to musical theater which is what she was studying before she became a part of the Spice Girls.

Victoria's voice is fine on the album, but her livesinging was most of the times terribly out of tune. She and Geri were the worst livesingers. Melanie C was clearly technically the best but I don't like he tone that much. Personally I always liked Mel B's tone the best. Emma has a sweet voice and it worked great when she was doing harmonies, but it wasn't very strong live.

I wasn’t a posh fan because she dressed to fancy for me but now as an adult I think she has a beautiful voice. I didn’t really like scary and sporty voices at all, I only liked ginger, baby and posh spice voices . But to each their own.

@Pete G you're right. And her part in the song Time Goes By, I thought it was Mel B all along. Either that or the one who compiled this made a mistake.
That's your opinion other people have different opinions that is why there is such a wide selection of singers and types of music.

She has good voice. I think the worst voice in SG was Geri, Victoria voice was maybe not the strongest but not very week. Her voice has it's own colour, is smooth and nice, good for R&B tracks. Listen how she sings in Holler
She has good harmony. She's the glue in groups, high and low. Sultry. Solo isn't very spectacular tho.
For all these people who criticize her obviously there was something that stood out for her to have been selected for the spice girls other than looks. Is she a knock out singer not really but she's not a bad singer either.
I think the biggest contribution to the rumor that Posh couldn't sing was the fact that she was the only one who didn't solo at all on their breakout hit, "Wannabe." Her lack of solos on that song was conspicuous.
But if you look for a video on UA-cam that shows Elton John with the Spice Girls performing Don't Go Breaking My Heart, you'll see that Spice acquits herself very well. Arguably the best, in fact.
