I haven't been watching your videos for very long, but your attitude always brightens my day! I used to hate reading, but one day I came across one of your videos and read a couple of the books you recommended and I am now in love with reading and have read over 30 in the past few months. Thank you so much for your positivity and videos. They truly make my day.
Moonstone-Dreamer the Little Mermaid doesnt need a dark retelling though... I mean Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale has got to be the most dark and depressing tale I've ever read
these types of videos are so pure and good - i'm also so glad you're looking into more ownvoices work! i love seeing bigger booktubers attempting to make their bookshelves more diverse! :)
The third book in Stalking Jack The Ripper series should be coming out in 2018 and the author just announced a fourth book! The Cover and Title release should be done today, I am so excited!
Obsidio is literally the only book I'm actually looking forward to. But a lot of these sound interesting! Great vid! Also, I'm gonna have to spend 2018 catching up on Cassandra Clare's books! I'm so behind!
Love, LOVED your framing for this. The colours were warm and cozy. All the good holiday vibes! Thank you for putting in all the work for this video. :)
You're always free to do a part two for the other books you are highly anticipating that couldn't be highlighted in this video due to wanting to keep the video length managable. I'd watch as many videos on the subject that you want to make. Your booktube videos are awesome! Also, I can't wait for the upcoming Sophia Kinsella book. I've loved everything I've read by her so far. That goes ditto for the upcoming books from Becky Abertelli, Sarah J Maas, Ashley Bennet, Sabaa Tahir, Sandiya Menon, VE Schwab, and Cassandra Clare. Plus, I'm all over My Plain Jane. I really liked My Lady Jane.
The only book that matters is Vengeful :DD Vicious is a book that is not nearly talked enough in the booktube sphere. I read this book 4 year ago and afterwards couldn't find one soul to talk about it. Later Victoria became a more known name and so finally people are starting to read Vicious, which to me is her best work.
Heather, you forgot another Sarah J Maas book: the Catwoman one which comes out in August and is on the very top of my Most Anticapted reads for 2018, along with the ACOTAR novella and the last Throne of Glass. I plan on doing rereads for both series to prepare for them. I am also excited for the Batman book Marie Lu is doing. As well as the Belles
Completely off topic but your makeup is so on point. Love it! More on topic. Some of these sound really interesting and look forward to reading them and then hearing your take on them too 🙂
I'm so excited about so many of these books too! (Seriously, we have such similar reading lists.) One of the only ones I don't think I'd heard of the Kristin Hannah novel, as I haven't read anything yet by her, though I have The Nightingale!
Have you read Neal Shusterman's Unwind series? It is one of my favorites of all time- and I think it is such well written YA sci-fi that is so underrated, but I have yet to read Scythe. Looking forward to it- great video!!!
Also so excited for "Still Me", I totally get the hate that the series gets, but I do really enjoy JoJo's writing. I have an ARC for "The Great Alone" and can't wait to read it! This is a such a great list and I now have a bunch of books added to my TBR!
You said you like the ACOTAR series more than Throne of Glass, I’ve gotten Half way through ACOTAR and I’ve put it down and haven’t picked it back up. Does it get better in the second half of the book?
I think the 2nd half is a lot like the first half but so many people love it then i'm not the normal for this series. i wish i would have DNF'd it instead of finishing it.
Elizabeth Green the second half of ACOTAR is wayyy better than the beginning; the first half is just laying down the groundwork for the rest. The second book is my favorite book of all time.
I'm looking forward to Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett (I heard you talk about Alex Approximately and it became my new favourite book!), Leah and the offbeat by Becky Albertalli, Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassie Clare, and Throne of Glass 7!!!!
I still haven’t read to kill a kingdom and I don’t even know why! I think because I know I’m going to love it and I’m postponing it 😂🤦🏻♀️ I don’t even understand that concept! I love videos like this so much that I’ve began to do monthly releases I’m excited for on my channel!
the author of The Belles co-wrote two books, I think one is called Tiny Broken Things (something like that). Sophie Kinsella wrote about marriage in the later Shopaholic books (which are amazeballs). Also, Rage, I think, is going to be pushed back because the author's been experiencing medical problems. I love Jake Ryan, he will always have a special place in my heart, I can't wait for Save The Date
Great list! I can’t wait to read Still Me by Jojo Moyes, I loved Me Before You. I know a lot of people hated the ending but I didn’t realize it has problematic representation. What were you referring to?
Milena Mutter probably because they made Will think that he couldn't live a fulfilled life with his disability. That's only what I've heard. Not sure that's the thing she's referring to but I know there's been some talk about that
fgl I see what you mean. I still don’t think it’s bad representation. This was one person’s, Will’s, story. After an accident like that every person would have a different journey, depending on the severity of the accident, person’s character, support network, faith and whole load of other factors. Will made the decision that he thought was right for him, doesn’t mean all disabled people should feel or do the same. I thought in the end Will’s decision was very true to his character, even though I cried buckets 😭
I think another issue is that Moyes has said she has not spoken to anyone with the condition that Will has. She can't really accurately represent this without doing this.
You look too young for 10 years of marriage (I don't mean that in a bad way)! Congrats, that's rare these days. Thanks for always telling us about new releases. I always get loss in college and forget about them.
I will also be releasing two books in 2018. Yay, me! Oh, and I know why you showed all the releases by Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Because you love Gilmore Girls! 😄
I really shouldn't have watched this while eating lunch. I had to put my food down every five seconds to add a book to my to-read list on Goodreads. Great video!
i really want to read gentlemens guide to vice and virtue and the paper back isn't out until june on amazon!! I think i'm the only one who doesn't like hardback lol
I just finished Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda it was really good. You have to read it. Looking forward to reading Leah on the Offbeat. Leah will hopefully be an interesting character to get to know more about.
Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker is a Fantastic Mystery Thriller. It came out this year you might really enjoy that. I find that most people who really enjoy thrillers don’t like Ruth Ware. People who don’t read mystery thrillers tend to like Ruth Ware because they are simpler mysteries.
You are def. correct, I try but I def need to research the pronunciation of their names that is for sure. thanks so much for pointing it out, and I will work on it.
I'm really mad about the synopsis for Toil & Trouble. "Women and witchcraft" is not a good enough description. Is this real life Wiccan representation, or is it about supernatural witches? All I fucking want in life is a contemporary book about a real Wiccan, with no supernatural elements.

That means the world to me! So glad you love reading again and I could help!
Hubby and I celebrated 10 years in June so Surprise Me interests me too!
Obsidio is probably my most anticipated read.
Congrats!!!
dark little mermaid retelling? Need to read it
Right??
Moonstone-Dreamer the Little Mermaid doesnt need a dark retelling though... I mean Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale has got to be the most dark and depressing tale I've ever read
these types of videos are so pure and good - i'm also so glad you're looking into more ownvoices work! i love seeing bigger booktubers attempting to make their bookshelves more diverse! :)

Best of luck!!
Love, LOVED your framing for this. The colours were warm and cozy. All the good holiday vibes!

I LOVE Vicious!!!
OH MY GOD I still need to read it, but do you know of any other books with good villain protagonists?
Heather, you forgot another Sarah J Maas book: the Catwoman one which comes out in August and is on the very top of my Most Anticapted reads for 2018, along with the ACOTAR novella and the last Throne of Glass. I plan on doing rereads for both series to prepare for them.
I am also excited for the Batman book Marie Lu is doing. As well as the Belles
Ah I'm honestly not super interested in the superhero series sadly
Completely off topic but your makeup is so on point. Love it!
More on topic. Some of these sound really interesting and look forward to reading them and then hearing your take on them too 🙂
Thanks so much!!!
this video is filmed so beautifully, I love it!!
Thanks so much!

Yes! same here!
I'm so excited about so many of these books too! (Seriously, we have such similar reading lists.) One of the only ones I don't think I'd heard of the Kristin Hannah novel, as I haven't read anything yet by her, though I have The Nightingale!
Ah I can't wait to read her books!!
love these types of videos
So glad you do!

I agree!!!
You should make a video specifically about fairy tale retelling hit and misses like you talked about in this video! I’d love to find more of those!
That's a great idea!
Hello and happy Christmas! So many wonderful books to look forward to in the new year 😊❤
I agree & same to you!!

Yay!!!
You said you like the ACOTAR series more than Throne of Glass, I’ve gotten Half way through ACOTAR and I’ve put it down and haven’t picked it back up. Does it get better in the second half of the book?
Elizabeth Green ACOTAR is so much better in the second half, but its sequels are amazing!
AlannaSama I’ll try to pick it up again then. Thank you.
IMO ACOTAR was fine but ACOMAF was a trainwreck and is my least favourite book of all time.

Great list! I can’t wait to read Still Me by Jojo Moyes, I loved Me Before You. I know a lot of people hated the ending but I didn’t realize it has problematic representation. What were you referring to?

That's a fair point
The disabled rep is def very problematic

Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker is a Fantastic Mystery Thriller. It came out this year you might really enjoy that. I find that most people who really enjoy thrillers don’t like Ruth Ware. People who don’t read mystery thrillers tend to like Ruth Ware because they are simpler mysteries.

I'm really mad about the synopsis for Toil & Trouble. "Women and witchcraft" is not a good enough description. Is this real life Wiccan representation, or is it about supernatural witches? All I fucking want in life is a contemporary book about a real Wiccan, with no supernatural elements.
I'm honestly not sure, the synopsis is pretty vague because it's coming out in August
