Tom, congratulations! Have you noticed how the Serbian producers listened to your advice (as they should)? You wrote, it would be good for the camera to hover above Luka and for him to start with his eye closed and then open them? We got exactly that. They improved the sound mix, the lighting, and added more camera angles where Luke is interacting with the camera. I hope they will listen to your advice further and improve even more for Liverpool.
He wrote this song during covid pandemic. He was playing a lot of video games, so he expressed his state of mind and life at that time. He wants to send a message about dangers of escaping into virtual world, no matter how tempting it is, especially now. Love from Serbia!
The roots are in the retro sound from the 80s and 90s. Songs had to be good because gamers played marathons, and also because it took a while to start the game. Produced and played with simple equipment, there were no vocals, so the songs were much more intrigued, and yet catchy in their arrangements. Songs like *"Monty on the run",* by the genius of Rob Hubbard, can't be replicated nowadays.
Ecstatic that this won, my favourite song of the season as well! I actually love how the first time he says "samo mi se spava" his face is in the darkness, it looks so mysterious.
I think I'm older than you Tom, at the ripe age of 40. And, Luke Black connects A LOT with my Trip-pop, Industrial, Electronica roots. My Gundam, Voltron, Evangelion fever dream. And, his outfit reminds me a lot of a video game from SEGA called Persona. I know that Luke Black is a Sailor Moon fan and anime fan and I hope he goes full throttle with that. This is my NUMBER 1, Finland is my number 2. 💖💝💖💝

Serbia is very proud with this choice. Regardless of the place he will take we are still proud of our selection even if he ended up the last on the scoreboard. This song is just everything.

I really like that Serbia is so forward-thinking in its entries. This is pretty special; I'm not sure yet if it will be in my top 5, but I do appreciate that it's so original and progressive. The song is well put together. I have the same ideas as you regarding the staging: lighting needs to be better, choreo is already excellent.

It's really great staging to get across the message of the song! Luke wakes up at the start and this sets the scene well. He looks confused about being in this environment and then realizes the other people are hooked up to the same machine he was asleep in. He realizes he needs to wake them up and removes the hoses. It's great staging to get the message across that we need to wake up from our comfort being ignorant or "asleep" while the world is burning. We need people to wake up to reality to actually take action in the world rather than finding ease in escapism, acceptance of defeat, and ignorance.

6:59 the producer has been the same since 2015, and the whole RTS team hasn’t changed in ages. What happened is that Hurricane brought back the interest for Eurovision in Serbia that was lacking since the early 2010s. They were the first big industry name to compete in Beovizija (pre-PZE) since ages, and they also brought back the younger demographics to the selection. All of that made RTS to step up their game. Anyways, great reaction and great work! 💪🏼
It's not just that. We had a different kind of selection up until 2018. RTS was giving us 3 songs to choose from. There were no new artists since RTS would choose some well-known songwriters/makers to make songs, choose who will perform them, and how... it was just too boring. Then the festival started in 2018 and it needed a couple of years to come to life... as these things usually go. And of course, that is when Hurricane comes, and then Konstrakta, and now it's a proper festival. I also have to say that the jury was good. Averagely they were around 40. So the jury was not a bunch of elderly people and no one was from the folk corner, they were all pop, jazz, and rock people... which is likely why Princ wasn't the jury winner.

YES, GO SERBIA!!! The song is so eerie, it gives me chills and the staging is THE best for me so far. It's crazy because I have it in fourth place and last year it could have been my number one easily. This is such a solid year imo; I love all the songs in my top 10, whereas last year I had a bunch of songs up there that I didn't care much for.

It's interesting to see the growing discussion and awareness in national selection shows... They're clearly becoming more significant in their own right and I take your point that under the right production these shows can push for way more interesting, 'challenging' songs which are still pop in their core. Im typing this from Scotland, and just heard the UK song which on first listen Im a bit meh about, but I think it might grow.... anyway, I hope the BBC don't get lazy again and think they've found a formula by approaching to TAP music. I think I'm just jealous we do not have these really interesting, diverse selection shows... which really means (from my perspective) the UK are probably still playing it too safe.
I am thrilled beyond belief! This is my no1, as a concept this is so well thought out and clever it's one of the best bloody things I've seen at Eurovision..and I am an old millenial...I have 33 years of watching Eurovision under my belt.

She also had more points than Sara Jo(21 253) and Zorja(16 875) combined. They were not exaggerating when they said that everyone and their grandmother who never watches PZE turned out just for Konstrakta.

Some of us voted so hard for Luke, but we should thank our producers and first of all mastermaind Olivera Kovacevic who figured the calculation to send Luke. I know they had all analysis and expected Luke and Princ to be 10 and 12 in televote. Our producers want so bad to bring Eurovision back to Belgrade and they work so hard for that
if PZE continues like this, it will definitely happen within the next 5-10 years. the better the reputation for PZE, even better songs and artists will continue to apply
His song talks about the desire to escape from the madness of this world through a dream. At the same time, he feels that something is controlling him, like in a video game, and he doesn't want to stay in that state. That robot in the background represents that. So at the end he shuts down the dancers and this robot dies, it says 'ENEMY DEFEATED' at the end. The message is to wake up, it is a collective awakening. It's a pity that this boy will be abused by people from Serbia who are not even close to him in terms of talent, education, intelligence, or character...and I feel sorry for those people. It isn't my favorite song of the year, but god I am happy we're finally getting a Eurovision entry with a videogame theme! We almost had it with Arcadia, but this one translates better with the song. Turning the performance into a boss battle? With the dancers being adds?! Brilliant! And the "Hello?" being a reference to The Sims! (he even said so in an interview!) Videogames have such a big influence in our time and the fact that we're only just now getting a song to Eurovision is a crime!
Luke was 2nd in jury vote and 2nd in public vote (but tbh the difference between him and Princ was only a little over 200 votes). I'm beyond happy and so glad that his performance was polished for the finale. Also, he's bringing Filip Baloš to Liverpool. Can't wait to see what they will create for us as Luke said that if he won, he'll change everything

Some of us voted so hard for Luke, but we should thank our producers and first of all mastermaind Olivera Kovacevic who figured the calculation to send Luke. I know they had all analysis and expected Luke and Princ to be 10 and 12 in televote.
Our producers want so bad to bring Eurovision back to Belgrade and they work so hard for that
if PZE continues like this, it will definitely happen within the next 5-10 years. the better the reputation for PZE, even better songs and artists will continue to apply

His song talks about the desire to escape from the madness of this world through a dream. At the same time, he feels that something is controlling him, like in a video game, and he doesn't want to stay in that state. That robot in the background represents that. So at the end he shuts down the dancers and this robot dies, it says 'ENEMY DEFEATED' at the end. The message is to wake up, it is a collective awakening. It's a pity that this boy will be abused by people from Serbia who are not even close to him in terms of talent, education, intelligence, or character...and I feel sorry for those people.

It isn't my favorite song of the year, but god I am happy we're finally getting a Eurovision entry with a videogame theme! We almost had it with Arcadia, but this one translates better with the song. Turning the performance into a boss battle? With the dancers being adds?! Brilliant! And the "Hello?" being a reference to The Sims! (he even said so in an interview!)
Videogames have such a big influence in our time and the fact that we're only just now getting a song to Eurovision is a crime!

Luke was 2nd in jury vote and 2nd in public vote (but tbh the difference between him and Princ was only a little over 200 votes). I'm beyond happy and so glad that his performance was polished for the finale. Also, he's bringing Filip Baloš to Liverpool. Can't wait to see what they will create for us as Luke said that if he won, he'll change everything
