I feel like Persian, Sphynx, Siamese or Savannah would definitely fit the luxe style 🙏 Savannah isn't dog-sized in The Sims 4 like it is in real life, but the idea of one is cool 🤔

One workaround you could do for the new building glitch is combine a few rentals of Sims that have already had their final episodes. For example, combine the rental apartments of Kristoff and Pablo, and then combine the rentals of Scarlett and Vivian. That way the only downside is that Kristoff's family will spend time at Pablo's and vise versa, and Vivian's will spend time at Scarlett's and vise versa. But since they have all had their finales it won't really affect gameplay too much.
You might also have to combine their families in order to combine apartments, but yeah, I think that might work so you can then edit Camillo's and Silas' apartments.

The bed wasn’t broken, you just had Camilo sleep with his earbuds in. He was literally struggling to sleep with the music blasting in his ears, so the bar was going up at the speed of a snail. 😂

I feel like I had my sims listen to music with earbuds in and they never struggled to sleep
I'm a yoga instructor and what’s neat about when Sims do yoga is that their thought bubble tends to coincide with actual poses. They’ll think of a dog when they do puppy pose. They’ll think of a tombstone when they do corpse pose. And think of a moon when they do moon pose! Was so excited when I realized!
It's so cool! I wish the space required wasn't so large though. Every yoga studio I've been in has been tiny with maybe and inch or two between mats. The studio in the spa he used should realistically fit 20ish Sims.

@@jennifergarner2310an inch or two?! oh my! that seems quite small! all the ones I've seen have had more space than that! with only an inch or two, you are uncomfortably close to the person next to you and it is a hygienic issue because you could touch, sweat onto, etc. the person next to you!
@@epiclexi1234 yeah, the studio in my local gym is tiny and gets so crowded. If I was out of practice I was always afraid I'd topple over doing warrior 3 or side angle or something and take out half the class like dominos.

I think you will make your life easier, house-layout-wise, if you move his bedroom to the top level... then you will have more space (and better options) for the main living area on the middle level.
Yes, I definitely agree with this. Make the top level a loft-style bedroom sort of thing.
But with stairs. Ladders in a house sound so miserable.
I really like the new layout!! I just wish there was more white/beige rather than the super dark browns. I miss that original color scheme 🤍💜 I think the bright whites/light colors are more luxe / palacy whereas the deep brown makes things seem older/antique

I liked the idea as well, like someone commented that Camilos bedroom should be on the third floor. Also, I feel like the dark brown and purple is a bit too dark, although I like the sauna, makes it cosy. I would make it a bit lighter, beige and use a lot of curtains to make the light airy spa vibe, which is also luxurious.
next baby born in tiny town should definitely be named crystal! an ode to the queen of tiny town

It would be great if every tiny towner get children and their names could be all related to which ever was their parents life interest. For Camilo it could be Calm for a girl and Zen for a boy.

The Zen Guru aspiration is actually pretty easy because the yoga teachers at the spa community lots have level 10 wellness skill!
Krystoff also has level 10 wellness. Just invite him everywhere.
I love the look of the spa downstairs and I think leaving it as it is would be great, but the purple and brown colour scheme definitely gives off "old money wealth" rather than new age luxe vibes. I think bringing back that white and gold for his private living space would be a really good idea - white and shiny layouts come across as really luxurious because they need a lot of upkeep to stay clean, so seeing them white and shiny and new feels so fresh and novel.
OMG, For Rent as a concept: chef's kiss, in practice: the worst thing that happened to the Sims 4! And I love it, but it broke the game, seriously. You could make some of the finished houses as shared and reduce to 6 apartments, leaving the unfinished ones as parts of the 6. Combined completed households together and let them live like that for the time being so you can focus on the ones that still have episodes to go.
I think it's worse the more tenants you have, really. I mostly play with having 4 tenants and that works fine for me. But maybe I'm in the minority with that..
@@suzannev12 Yeah, I really wonder how much is due to the cheats allowing more units per save/per lot. I haven't seen any gameplay Simmers not using those cheats. I don't watch them all, I admit but...
I'm also betting the bugs are due to going past the 6 rentals per lot limitations that Maxis set up. It's even possible it's working as the devs intended if they decided to patch-in a way to keep people from using the previous cheat because it created way too many other bugs that kept getting reported. I think that makes sense if they pinpointed that as one of the major culprits. We've had multiple updates since Deli came up with this challenge so any one of those could've been the nail in the coffin.
The devs probably expected people to use For Rent as a way for wealthy Sims who've already amassed wealth to spend their simoleons; after a certain point there's only so much for any Sim family of any size to spend simoleons on within one household. That Laird had to make most of her riches through the Home Chef Hustle pack is pretty telling in that respect. And yes I know Mr. Abernathy donated a lot to her goals but that's what she did outside of meeting him. I think that also explains what their expectations for Horse Ranch were and why it's so hard to make money with horses at first (also probably one reason they added the mini animals and ofc the true money maker of that pack: nectar making.)
Obviously they know Rags to Riches is a popular play style, especially on LPs and streaming, but they probably thought that even someone like James Turner (formerly known as TheSimSupply) would have one of those rare situations like when Reginald and Kevin bought the legacy building for a new Dine Out LP instead of it being built from the ground up. So the building would be there already, the shell would be completed, and then at most furnishings and some interior walls would be changed by the Sims renting them out since IRL it's a realistic limitation. Simmers who aren't avid builders would be fine with this.
I don't think the devs intended for people to go around completely revising lots and editing roofs after turning it into a rental, so I suspect a lot of these are based on the Dev expectations versus the Simmer expectations. And of course, as always, multiple unexpected pack interactions that they just don't check for before a pack's release since they only have access to the new pack and Base Game, so it's a little hard to tell what is due to what. It's probably a bit of both but I think mostly the former.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong for trying to do more with the rentals, or that asking for complete freedom to do what you want in a game you've spent a ton of money on is bad. I'm just speculating on why these things keep happening like this.
Yeah, for rent broke my main save. It won’t even load.
And I wasn’t using any cheats and only had two units, one which was occupied by the owner.
@ShadoeLandman If you have any CC, make sure it's updated or remove it temporarily to confirm it's not the reason and recycle the localthumbnailcache package, which is the main cache. Also, make a new save, add some rentals, and test if it loads this new save after that. It could be just that one file, but it could be a bigger issue. You might want to check EA forums to see if it's a reported bug too.

I'm not sure about how dark the downstairs is... I think white, bright, light and airy with little pops of green bamboo and a bubbling water fountain in the zen garden matches a wellness centre better than almost gothic dark wood everywehre...

The exterior of Camillo's palace is very Arabian so I'd love to see you lean into that aesthetic more on the interiors - I feel like this style is so inherently luxe with layered rugs, patterned tiles, floor cushions, beautiful drapery, indoor palms, columns, and white marble... . I'd also love to see some more lovestruck items (i think there's a lot of purple stuff in the pack from memory? The Crocodile skin wall?) and also you like gotta use a bead curtain over an archway SOMEWHERE.
Also I think the bedroom being on the 3rd floor with no ladder/stairs (so Camilo just teleports up there) would be a cool private retreat for him! That's my 2 cents!

To fix tiny town (if the problem really is having 8 units) you could also combine all the units of those who finished to 1 unit. Yeah, not really "tiny town" but if it's a 10 minute fix for you (instead of 2 hours that you already spent on it) I'm sure we'll "forgive you" (AKA whatever gets you through this easily)
I've said it before but I'll happily say it again: for me, gameplay videos AND bonus build videos is 100% the best. Love it! Also, it's nice to see Camillo again!
I love the palace from the outside, but I liked the original interior better. It was matching the middle-east palace style better, now it's more like antique vampire prince 😅

Moment of Clarity is actually kinda op. It speeds the timer for negative moodlets by a lot, like the Sad for 2 Days moodlet from deaths disappears within an hour or so
Maybe have a basement with the kitchen in it and let it be like a „butlers quarter“ where Camillo gets his food delivered upstairs and change the upstairs into a whole bedroom for Camillo with some living space and let it be his haven? The open arches and the curtains are giving me like roman empire vibes where they would lay on chairs and eat grapes looking down on the city😂
I think it would be fine to just give a sim the trait to do the Book of Life temporarily just to finish that part of the story and then remove it. You have already put in the work and I think it should be in the game that sims can write the Book of Life about themselves.

If The Sims Team claims For Rent is getting bug fixes and the patch is released, just wait until James _demolishes_ that claim and throws it on a Blaze
For the lot/rental bugs, could you just combine the households/rental units for some of the sims who have already finished the challenge? Like at this point it doesn’t really matter if their money gets combined because you’re not going to play with them anymore. And then the sims who still have episodes left could stay in their own units and keep their money separate

Hi James, suggestion:
His living area should be lighter to break free from all the dark wood but still carrying the aesthetics. Since the palace is full of windows, I suggest to make the colour pallette lighter to give a more airy feel so he can “relax”. With that you can use the luxe stuff :)
I like to think the bar is hosting Camilo doing yoga. Where I live that is quite common at breweries and stuff
The dark wood walls give the place a more gloomy/broody vibe. The previous felt more "wellness" and refreshing. It would probably be nicer if that vampire wallpaper has a white and gold swatch.
Sonny and Judy need a kid. I need to see what that would look like.
I'd enjoy seeing that too but I feel like Judith isn't the sort of person to give birth, it's beneath her, so Science Baby all the way!

I like the idea of the ground floor being the spa space and the living area on the upper floors, the only thing I would change is removing the wall of those weird rooms with arches and just expand the triangle rooms. Still it's so strange how some people don't get the bugs that James seems to get, I'm lucky I haven't had any bugs regarding rentals, but I also don't use a lot of mods so who knows.

For the build, I feel like the wood walls and decorations don't relate to the theme of Indian castle as you said in the last episode, it's too Western culture orientation (as you said, look too vampire). So tone down as the lighter wood mix with the stone (more zen tone) would make it more coherent to the outside of the house. For the weird triangle corners, you can try to put the triangle hot bathtub, changing area, etc, so they can look more intentional.

Love the bottom level. But it's so dark. I think light and flowy feels better in such a small space.

When I was completing the inner peace aspiration, it was so difficult to complete. Keeping your sims happy is very hard. Surrounding yourself with peace is difficult but it’s doable.
Couldn't you just sleep and fastforward for 48 hours and wake up only to eat, use toilet etc. ?
@@Frenchaboo that wouldn’t work. You’ll get the uncomfortable moodlet if your needs drop while you’re sleeping. Whenever my sims would wake up and her needs were low, she’ll get the uncomfortable moodlet. It’s even harder if your sims is in college or they have a job.

i tried this and it also didn't work lol they just continuously all moved out autonomously 😢
i think the upstais could be a perfekt bedroom, with amazing view. the arches could be covered in open curtains, for privacy, but have it open, like sunny.
I prefer the lighter colors throughout. I think it fits a palace vibe better. Also, irl you would need more light in places like a nail salon. I suppose sauna and massage rooms could be a bit more dim.

The build mode bug: can you save Camillos house to the gallery. Place the house on to a completely different lot. Move Camillo in and edit it on that lot. Save the new house and move it back?
It's annoying but might be easier than moving everyone out and back in again
Can you save just one house or no cause it would save the entire lot? You could I suppose save the whole lot edit and put it back…
@@Neumie15 but if you place the whole lot on 20x20 you could just add Camillos lot as everything else wouldn't place. To add it back it may have to be saved as a room or put in a room and tweaked from the map

I agree with the others: bedroom on the top floor, with stairs if possible, not a ladder, maybe less dark browns in the spa area, it doesn’t really fit the aesthetic, and I’d love a very large empty but beautiful space for yoga (maybe basement accessible from outside?)

Petition for Sonny and Judith to have a pizza oven in their lovely island home. Also I’m surprised you didn’t think to combine the households of people who have already had their final episode instead of the ones that you’re currently using that way their household are combined and it doesn’t really matter because you’re not adding onto them.
I had the same issue with my Tiny Town and I didn't even have more than 6 units yet. My solution was to build walls, floors, fences, stairs and the roof from the main build map. Note the value of the unit before starting. Then take the value of the unit after done and subtract the starting value. It tells you in the main build menu as you change it. Then you can use UI cheats or just regular money cheats to subtract the difference from your sim's household. It still works to place furniture, landscaping and doors/windows in build mode in your sim's household. I think it happens after you have multiple units that span more than 1 floor after their original creation. The first one that does, you won't have issues and maybe even not even the 2nd. I started having issues on the 3rd one that did.
The place in the top where the massage table is should be Camilo's great bedroom, he lives in a little palace, I think he deserves this!

That issue also happened in my game and I moved the whole lot from Henford-on-Bagley to Chestnut Ridge and I could build again

Every time I watch James videos I always feel like I wanna play sims 4 too. But then when James show the reality and the behind the scenes of what he's been dealing with, all the bugs and such, I feel like I rather watch James suffer than me suffering. I think there is a purple color to the meditation pillow witch functions the same as the pad
I think you should move the bedroom upstairs bc you won't use the massage table since you have the one on the first floor and it's a service, not something you can do to yourself, then the bedroom will have full view of the tiny town, and it will also give you more space for the kitchen and living space in the middle floor :)

I’ve had decent luck with leading yoga classes at bowling alley bars in cold weather. I often have a “function/party” room in mine that I have a lot of empty floor space in to facilitate sleepovers and it works really well for hosting yoga. Over a bowling alley.
Make the top open room an airy bedroom. You can have personal meditation and yoga mat on the corridors. The ground floor can stay a spa. First floor becomes living kitchen and bathroom. The top floor is just a huge canopy bed and personal wellness stuff.
You can also have big stairs to the top this way instead of a ladder

You should create a yoga club! With no tasks so the sims don’t get confused but that way you can instantly get lots of people over to your lot, combined with inviting people over means you can get at least 10 sims
You should put the bedroom on the 3rd level of the house and leave the 2nd floor just for the kitchen and living room - would leave more space for everything!
