my honest thoughts on the current state of valorant and what can be done to improve it in the future.
i love this game, it is an amazing game with amazing devs behind it and i just wanted to put my thoughts out there, plz let me know what you guys think below, thank you

skins being treated as new content vs having actual new content is the biggest problem imo
obviously they need new skins to make money on the game and there needs to be priority there but you’re totally right it’s lost a bit of it’s “life”
smurfing is also a big problem in valorant

The block system is a fun one to bring up because in overwatch at launch, the #1 Widowmaker in the world was blocked so many times that if they queued the only people in the lobby were brand new players who hadn't yet blocked him. I can only imagine how many people would try to block Dasnerth so they just didn't have to play against him lol

Blocking only so they arent on "your" team but you can still go up against them would fix that meaning people wouldnt block better players as then theres 0 chance their on their team

I've always had this idea where you can do a storymode version of an agent where you play through a mission as them and do some type of shooting mode against NPC's and this also gives Agent Lore. And depending on how well you do in the quest (ex. getting S+ flawless, playing the gamemode enough times, etc) you get radianite points or a new agent themed weapon as a reward.
val story mode would have me unreasonably hyped
god that is such a stellar idea ngl. if they would do that and a show like arcane (same company after all) i think i’d be way more inclined to buy stupid gun skins every now and then

i made a small list of things riot could improve
Riot needs to add these things to valorant
-more than 10 people able to play in customs
-Actual rewards for ranked, i for example have 12 radiant gun buddies that look the exact same, match quality has decreased because the incentive has gone away.
-Creator Codes
-community servers where you can create your own maps, game modes etc.
-Replay System
-Agent Skins
-Christmas events
- Twitch Drops
-Solo/Duo only for ALL ranked + a Flex Q to play comp w friends
-Holiday events (Christmas maps,skins)
-Casual Game Modes for Casuals, currently swiftplay,spikerush and unrated are basically the same modes as ranked just in shorter or unranked versions.
-SMS verification to combat smurfs & alt accounts for lower ranks & even combat alt accounts ruining high elo games
-Be in Queue while in the range
-Combat Stream snipers/ Q snipers currently (i have stopped playing the game and streaming because of constant snipers) Players blatantly post
-Add an ability to spawn bots so you can aim train on real maps instead of using 3rd parties e.x aimlabs
- Agent skins
-Combat smurfing
-Add Re-rolls to night market
-possibly add loot crates that can open VP,RP and even skins that earned by playing, again adding incentive
-More skin collabs, the game currently has only one with zedd and it was hyped but we haven’t seen anything since.
-Battlepass has better skins, and more radianaite
-Also for game modes, maybe try and implement more snowball fight type of game modes. For example: archery Sova darts only and then explosives raze util only etc. Could lead to endless game modes
-more custom game features, creators like eggwick, valorant curious touched on this that they are basically repeating content for 3 years due to lack of options
-serious punishments for over the top toxicity, including sexism. Currently too many people are getting away with it

Another idea
- Add KC or VP rewards on daily login so we can either earn KC faster or free to play players can earn VP and buy skins with it.
- Add an option to convert KC to RP and RP to VP so we can convert our useless currencies to useful ones.
- Add post-match VP reward so we can earn VP as a performance bonus (like KC).
idea: i think if they add special radiant player cards with the agent you played the most that episode/ act it would go hard

I like this idea alot actually.
I like this idea but I think it should be a different colour overlay / design for each rank for each agent. It’s a lot of work but people who main agents / one trick agents would eat that up at every rank. I do think radiant should get something different than everyone else but not agent specific.
@@333Absnah I’m saying only radiants get the player card with their most played agent. It shows your mastery on the agent and is just a biggest flex on the lobby. This makes radiants try to go for these cards, collecting each episode cards for agents like it’s Pokémon

i'm dia-asc (peak a3) & i struggle w the mmr SO much. i lose one game & my mmr just drops three ranks. it doesn't matter how many games i've won before; i lose one & i'm in high plat-low diamond lobbies as an a1. i can't even queue with a plat; how am i getting into a lobby with them? so then, i lose 20+ elo for a 10-13; or i win & gain 15 max because of how low the elo of the lobby is. it's actually absurd & the only reason i even play the game now is because of how much money i've spent on it.
fr with u play only because of the amount of money u spent on the game, i wouldn't even bother trying to climb ranked. play unrated with your friends and try to have fun, but if u actually feel like playing ranked, play on a alt acount/ play with the intent of improving instead of just climbing
The classic Riot games sunk cost fallacy. I had that issue with leauge, but you just gotta cut your losses man. Quit while you're still ahead and play other games that don't make you unhappy. I'd recommend R6, the creativity you can have with shooting through vertical floors is fantastic.
then there's me with my account who does NOT having it's MMR lowered even after almost a whole year of not playing (stopped playing in EP 6 Act 2, was ascendant 3 before i left). mf i came back last season (EP 8 Act 1) hoping that maybe i'm going to get my rank way lower (since i havent touched the game and i skipped the whole EP 7, tried playing deathmatch and i'm so shit). played 5 matches to reveal my rank, those 5 matches are absolute dogpile i cant even get like 10 kills, only know how to do lineups, setups and anything but the damn AIM and what do i got? still fucking diamond 2, tried to play for the next couple of games and somehow i'm paired with the damn diamond 3 up to ascendant 2. if i win i'm still getting like +28 to +30 and if i lose i'm only losing like +12 to +16. aint no way i'm continue with this account just to grief and make my teammates mad over my stupid aims (even my whole teammates questioned me like how the fuck do i get to play with them) so i tried to play with my 2nd account (last used EP 3 Act 2, was plat 1) and i cant even keep up with these guys, thinking that maybe this acc would get gold or something but what do i got? plat 3.
then my friend told me that he's also coming back to the game (was ascendant 2, left at the same EP), his KD was fine (even much better than me and he play duelists). but his account is deranked WAY LOWER (gold 3). i was like "how in the world i cant shoot but my rank is still so high meanwhile you're the one used to carry me but u gets gold 3? this is bullshit are they starting to set their MMR more towards the setup and lineups or some shits instead?"
so now i'm just playing the damn game for the swiftplays and unrated until i could get my aim back.

Please make dailies quicker. I am a low ranked casual player and I used to play every day when the dailies were individualized (get 10 headshots, use 5 ults, etc). Now it is the checkpoint system based on rounds won and it sucks because if you get a run of bad teammates especially playing games like swiftplay you could literally spend up to an hour and a half trying to get the dailies done. If Riot plans on keeping that system then they need to make it so even when you lose a round you get a quarter of the diamond filled and when you win a round you get half filled but you should always get progression on your checkpoint no matter what. It shouldn't be that you get zero credit if you lose because you are still playing the game. It is rage inducing to get queued up with multiple other casual players that literally don't care if they win or lose and just throw the game. There were days where I went 3 games straight and only had 1 round won so it only gave me a quarter of the checkpoint diamond and I played for over 40 minutes. I tried spike rush too and it still takes forever to complete dailies since no matter how many rounds you go you ONLY get half a checkpoint filled up. You would have to play 8 spike rush games even if you throw every round that is still 32 rounds played. Even if that is just 1 minute per round you are still looking at 45 mins to an hour when you add in the queue time, player selection menu, and the 20 seconds between rounds. But as you know every spike rush game doesn't go 0-4. The games that go 4-3 or 2-4 add a lot of time just to complete a daily. As a casual player this is unreal. When I play games and just want to do a daily I want to spend no more than 15 minutes. My dailies should be able to be done while I am taking a crap on the toilet. My dailies shouldnt be a part time job.
Either that or go back to when it was based on individualized performance because then it didn't matter if my teammates were trolls or were bad at the game and we lost. I could still complete my dailies in about 15-20 minutes. As it is now I rage because I just want to complete a task in the game and I cant because it depends on 4 other people I don't know.
I do not believe you guys do what is necessary for misbehaving , trolling, smurfing and afk. I know because ı have been player support. So nope ı do not trust you guys after that. However, I hope things will be good for players.

Worth mentioning, with the recent reveal of Y9S1 for Rainbowsix Siege, the newest ranked reward is gonna be a headgear for an operator along with the charms, and the weapon charms have only gotten more and more elaborate as the seasons have gone on so... I think that's a good game to take notes from
In some games, if you are at top 20, top 10, top 3 etc you get a bundle with some rewards. Val could do this and give out like a skin, vp, rp, buddy and player card to top 1 radiant and then some other rewards with less items down the leaderboard.
There could also be Act Challenges; if you are gold 3 peak and valorant says if you climb 2 "ranks" to plat 2 this act, you get a special bundle(again some rp, player card or buddy) and a title for completing the challenge. this challenge could change every act to a different challenge like ___ kills or ___ wins

Im a big casual player that just likes to play with friends and people Ive met online so I think Ive got a different sort of perspective. Casual players, which I know make up a large player base, range from just an everyday joe to edaters. They use the game mostly as a sort of social platform. The problem with doing essentially the same game mode over and over again is that the discussion points are probably going to be focused on the players on your team and what they say (if they aren't five stacking lol) which means there is little observational banter that can take place. Having different wacky and sometimes purposefully unfair game modes that aren't meant to be taken seriously helps alleviate that problem while bringing in rotating content to attract previous players and potential new ones while still being casual enough that the casual tryhard (which tbh everyone is at some point) can still be satisfied with without throwing games (wont stop all terminal throwers tbf). And duh custom stuff would for sure be a big point for that but having official queues brings more attention. Oh and I def agree with supporting pros. If you look at a lot of scenes the vast majority of viewers are casual and/or low ranked players. Loved your vid and keep up the good work 💜
Something I thought of since a while would be community events like a tournament for the best map concept and the best map gets it in the game.
And something I would really like to see are custom servers with their own que and stuff like their own maps...

the biggest issue in the game is people throwing on alts and overall not trying because there’s no incentive. the rank rewards are the exact same for 8 episodes now & lower ranked players still enjoy the game and keep it alive by grinding to get to a higher rank to only find out what we’ve experienced for years now.
Ascendant / immortal feels like a cesspool every start of the act, I could only imagine how many people are trolled daily in lower radiant lobbies and that’s why people stop playing throughout the episode after they peak whatever rank. A lot of the time you find yourself having to babysit grown men just to get through a 45 min game and hope you win.
bro, rank rewards doesn't have anything to do with this game losing players, if that was the case, tell me, how cs with 0 ranked rewards still is the top 1 game in steam and is not losing players?, the issue with valorant is that there's a meta, a meta that force players to pick the same 5 characters over and over and over, in CS you don't have that and it's more about pure skill and adaptability; that's why cs has retained the same player base for years meanwhile valo is not
They could also include the new kingdom currency as a reward like max kingdom currency if you hit radiant. It’s not much but you’re still able to get a banner or a gun buddy from ranking up.

Here me out, we get role buddies? for example, if you're like top 500 per each role (duelist, sentinel, etc.) you'd get the Roles logo design as a gun buddie. That way ppl would still be motivated to reach top 500 while also motivating people to play certain roles. idk just spit ballin here
I think that the addition of a custom game system like in Overwatch (I'm not too familiar with cs2) would be insanely nice, like I would love to be able to learn lineups with pings and markers explaining what to line up and how then being able to learn like that (sorta like the combo search in GGST) without needing to be in a custom game while also having a youtube video

i started playing in episode 4. i missed the whole christmas event and have been wishing theyd bring it back, or some kind of limited time game modes. Different gamemodes would be fun. Imagine like a mystery agent mode, or a mode with randomized abilities. It could be really fun
Not a Val player. But in apex when my Masters trail was removed in season 3 after the end of the season it felt horrible. Like even tho it's such a small thing it woulda kept me playing each season as motivation to collect the current seasons drop trail. I swear no one at these company's plays their own games and it shows.

i get matched with people like silver and gold no problem here
but i get matched with people who have been diamond and ascendent
and the gap of skill level between me and those diamonds and ascendants is just insane its feels so unfair and non compi cus those guys literally are pro and i am getting matched with these people they literally bully one for being low and non pro and its so frustrating i am good with loosing my match with the people whose level is same as me but as soon as i see these players my confidence absolutely shatters and even before trying i loos cus i know he can easily one tap me and the gap in skill is insane
its not a battle royal like fortnite where you can camp and get rewarded its either do or die and then getting matched like this dosent feel rewarding at all and is even more frustrating
now it feels like a good game in the hand of greedy company
either way thats my side of story and people might be suffering with these problems and

I think that giving the rewords like player cards/titles could be nice. I imagine someone that got radiant could get like a "top 800(or 500 idk)" for lower ranks we could get like a lamer title like just the rank name or something more creative like the chemical sign for it like AU for gold and for bronze like the combo of copper and tin(cuz that's what bronze is) and for player cards could be like a sheet of that metal and for radiant and imortal they would cook something up
The layoffs in riot games might have something to do with the “lower effort” we’ve been seeing. There was probably also more funding at the beginning in order to draw in more players compared to now.
Also Valo was Ritos side project all the devs at Rito mainly focus on league

I like when you mentioned that maybe the way you feel about the game may be coming from a perspective of a top 1 % player. I would say players who are ascendant 2+ would have more negative feelings towards the game now. It’s because a lot of players in ascendant were immortal at one point and don’t care to play anymore. The same can be said for people who hit radiant and don’t care if they are immortal now. There is no incentive for high ranked players to care about their rank so they throw, be toxic, and overall ruin the experience of the game. However lower elo players especially diamond and below still try to have fun. They probably grinded the game less, still play with their friends (instead of mainly doing solo q), and want to throw less often because they still are motivated to rank up. I think changes are necessary but I do not think lower elo players feel the game is dying as much as higher elo players. This is just my opinion on how I think the current state is. The better you get at Valorant, the better skilled your teammates will be but the worse overall experience you will have. Sucks, feels like lower elo players try to win more often than high elo players (cause most of them just don’t care and throw). This is not to say low elo players don’t have their own problems. But still I feel like the negative sentiment is tailored more to people who have been playing the game a lot for a long time. Great video btw.

riot games laid off a bunch of their employees at the beginning of the year (like a lot of companies did), however they stated that they want to shift A LOT more focus into improving league and valorant specifically going forward. considering its only the beginning of the year, im really hoping that theres a lot of refreshing content waiting for us in val later this year.

I'll just drop my opinion randomly I'm in low elo gold, and i find many issues with the game from network issues (prob a skill issue tho), smurfs, trolls, toxic people, expensive skins and I just noticed we don't even get level up rewards like EVERY GAME HAS THAT but especially I think what this game lacks A LOT is entertainment. I come to this game to have fun and I just come out so frustrated and mad about my rank and all (it's really affecting deeply my mental health and I just can't stop playing but I don't wanna quit playing videogames like forever or sum.. and also because if I decide to sell this game I'd get barely nothing in comparison of what I spent here), the only interesting mode I find interesting is comp, everything else is just fcking boring. But idk.. like the only thing bringing some excitement out of me is buying cosmetics and I still want to buy stuff like the new vct skins but I'm fking broke I cannot afford it and still I want it bc if not the game just feels boring..
Anyways just wanted to say that I enjoyed this video so much I laughed a lot, love you both, you and Grimmy. And just wanted to also say that if you ever were to change your content, I'd still support and watch you because tbh you're such an interesting and funny dude to watch. only issue with not keeping the charm if you ended the act not in that rank, is people would be too scared to comtinue ranking up, as if they derank they would lose there new charm, so people would just barley get into the rank, and never play the again because they dont want to lose that buddy next season. that should only apply to radiant

A very cool idea they can do for each rank when you rank up u unlock bullet traces, basically let's say u rank up to gold, you can achieve your bullets to become gold {for other players it'd be the same it's not like they can tell the diffrence anyways} but that could be a cool introduction, another cool concept would perhaps be when ranking up getting an automatic unlock for an agent of your choice
My peak is Asc 3 and i literally been hovering in diamond this act just cause i could care less to actually try im just running it down so your right.
CS2 should also be in the conversation. The direct competition in the tactics fps export.

They need... 1) replay system
2) Spectator mode, (basically right click a friend on friend list and select "spectate game" )
3) List every skin in the store... even if it's currently unavailable it should still be listed so we can see "What is available" vs " what isn't "
Okay, hear me out:
5v5 match mode, where you pick one ult, two abilities, and one default ability for your agent from a pool of all abilities, kinda like Dota. Basically 5 custom made agents going against the same, but you get to see what the other guys are taking and can't have the ones already taken. I haven't played much of Dota, but this ability selection makes for custom builds when it comes to abilities, which could be so refreshing to play, rather than the now getting stale meta lineups of agents.

Would love to see something as simple as glove skins or stickers to slap on guns. That stuff is so cool on CS. The biggest bummer for me in Val has been the massive reset in ranked. I peaked P2. I consistently have nothing but former Ascendent 3 and Immo 1 players in my lobbies, but the system doesn't equate for their past rank and will stick me with a true G3 player. It honestly has ruined the ranked experience for me. The skill differential is incredibly high and although I don't mind playing up in competition, but damn man it gets downright cruel in some of these lobbies. Great video as always Shiro

I really like how siege does their gun buddy system. The ranked ones just have bit more flair and glow the higher rank they go. They are always in theme of the current season.
a similar system to rainbow six siege would also be good imo, custom themed player cards for the season and etc
every battle pass add a theme to it and add small map changes to show the theme in the battle pass

Valorant needs something like premiere in cs2, having a ban and pick phase for maps & CT/T side pick phase. a lot of people including my self do not like the current map pearl and want to play haven/pearl again and some do not like them, so if they add a ban phase for maps, people will be able to pick what they want and do not want to play
If they make 64vs64 in one map, I'll be down playing it. But now I gotta play MX vs ATV Unleashed to improve my aim in CS2
Imagine making custom maps and each year they go into a competition and the winner gets chosen to be in the map pool or something or like in an unrated or a different gamemode a custom map
Bro one reason I stopped is because if I leave for a month I come back and everything is messed up
me and my friend tried playing this game last month. it's not a newbie friendly game. 6 consistent games i feel like our enemies are high rank while my teammates are the same as us. 6 games and the highest score we achieved was i think 3 or 4. it was always a stomp even if we have a bit of background in playing fps games. how is a newly created accounts face this terrible queuing? so we just stopped playing and uninstalled the game lmao. instead of enjoying the game, we just got stressed. of course it's a skill issue, we're newbies. and no one is forcing us to play. we are only 2 players out of thousands of players playing this game. but i think if they do not fix this, fewer and fewer new players will come play.
i agree with isaac at 16:35. my hidden mmr has been screwed almost permanently despite high performance. i am always playing with people lower ranked than me getting +15 -21 despite a 1.15 kd this act on omen and sova mainly. how am i supposed to climb when im consistently performing well but the game is matching me against worse players. i am always in full ascendent games as an immortal
if anything i think the hidden mmr system should just be removed and have it based off your actual rank

i think the biggest problem is every single post valorants team makes on the official yt page is how whenever they post something, the comments are nothing but replay system mentions. Like riot surely knows what we want but they continue to do nothing which is kind of wild and sad
I think they've been focused super hard on team and esports cosmetics. They just need to put more work on the ranked experience

I think that just removing radianite, and using kingdom credits to do the same job, then upping the cap on kingdom credits. Would be great.
So many possible improvements and additions that could be made and they do none of them. Unfortunate how the life is being drained from such an amazing game. I truely hope they eventually hear the community.
I really hope that the reason for the upgrades in the first place is so the profits from the bundle itself go to the designers and the profits from radianite are for the company, at least that's how I'd have it work. It would kinda justify the price of both the bundle and the radianite - as BOTH are extremely expensive.
I'm really hoping Valorant continues to grow, but I will stop playing if the game isn't fun. Low elo ranked is hell, and no I'm not coping.
Edit: 17:50 Valorant community servers would be amazing, but a lot of backend reworking needs to be done before releasing them. CS has server convars, which are just variables you can change that manipulate the game and how it plays (ex. round time, round limits, money gained, velocity gained, etc.), if Valorant were to add these convars and allow the client to run either a dedicated server (preferably with a different exe. though) or a local server that would be fire - this is the way I'd do it though. Butttttt, to get all these maps people want we'd need a tool to do so, and for that tool to be public or closed access. Backtracking to convars again though, if they ever do this I really hope we're able to manipulate how the abilities work (charges, ult orbs required, etc.) just to give server owners more freedom, then maybe we can get a mock v1 Valorant server too. This is a true fever dream, and an EXTREMELY huge ask from Riot though.

In regards of the pricing in this game I 100% agree, sure it's important to take the hard work of the artists into consideration but to put those pricings not only on bundles but on individual skins is actually insane. If I want at least *one* cool looking skin (let's say with effects) I'd have to put *over* $30 (sometimes 20 depending on where you live.) BUT then again, it's absolutely ridiculous to have skins priced at what they are in Valorant. Most of the time you're not getting your money's worth.

i dont think you should lose rr if you have a teammate dip mid game if the game is lost. Either no rr loss or half rr loss would help, too. One extra ult point for one agent to try and help the 4v5 team is crazy to me.
