Great to see. I was one of the electricians on the west end production up until March when we were forced to close and this bought back the excitement you get with the start of the show! Hopefully not long before we can all get back! Cheers for uploading!
For I Believe, in case those of you are wondering how the ensemble can see the conductor when they're singing from backstage, there's a monitor backstage that shows the conductor. Also, both the Mormon and the African ensembles do the backup singing on that song for those of you that didn't know.
I've been blessed to see BoM in NYC and Sydney four times total, and the audience always has a blast, as have I each time. This show is a HUGE delight.
I love these videos. This was awesome. Also, I feel like I'm one of the few who stay in my seat until the exit music is finished. I don't know why everyone is in such a hurry to go...
I saw caught the tour in SF a few years ago, and was worried about how the “imagine that your brain is made of tiny boxes” bit would land. It KILLED. People were *howling* with laughter. *Screaming* with laughter. It stopped the show dead for a good 45 seconds. Have there been dates where certain jokes didn’t land?
I'm pretty sure I saw you conduct the tour the night I saw it, Daniel. You were great and the band sounded excellent that night (local friends and touring members were all fantastic).
I did not know that there's a whole orchestra for BoM when I watched it this year in August, but now it kinda makes sense! Yall have to do this every single show? How do yall not make noticeable mistakes
We definitely make noticeable mistakes from time to time haha. It’s rare but it happens. Thankfully with a show like BoM, there’s so much happening at any given time that most small mistakes fly by under the radar haha
That run in Man Up that you played (bar 118) sounded a lot like the run from I’m Not Afraid of Anything from SFANW (bar 65). Was the inspiration for it taken from that?
Haha thanks! Those are definitely improv on my part. 😁 I can’t upload more due to all the copyright stuff unfortunately but I’m so happy you enjoyed what I was able to share!
In the opening number “Hello” who is firing the doorbells? I see you point to the camera at this point, is it a sound engineer or one of the musicians looking after this?
@@thedanielklintworth Very interesting! I wasn’t sure whether it was done off dialogue either, interesting to see that they are counted in which makes sense now!
Some shows don’t get to upload much orchestra work but it’s great to get some here

I love the smile on your face while conducting and playing! I've seen the show 4 times and I really enjoyed it!
The audience look like they’re having fun!

I love this!!!! As a pianist and conductor myself, I absolutely love this!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

You can see someone in the background mouting all the words lol.
Thanks for posting this!!! Love BoM and also watching pitcams. This was really good!

Oh yeah. Pleeeeenty of moments where the jokes don’t land in certain cities. And it’s always hella awkward 😂
Love the embellishments in the piano!

I love this show! This video was great! Thanks for sharing!
We’re going to Ugahanda
Wow! I love your energy! Wish I could steal your job ;D
Haha thank you! 😁
I LOVE TWO BY TWO
Great rock and roll musical 🥁🎸🎷🎺🎻🎹🎤🎼🎶🎵
Nice to see you Dan!
I did not know that there's a whole orchestra for BoM when I watched it this year in August, but now it kinda makes sense!
Yall have to do this every single show? How do yall not make noticeable mistakes
Yes they do that every single show. Mistakes are kept by a minimum with repeated playing of the score… And they are Professionals
We definitely make noticeable mistakes from time to time haha. It’s rare but it happens. Thankfully with a show like BoM, there’s so much happening at any given time that most small mistakes fly by under the radar haha
It’s kind of a pity that people at the end didn’t stay to hear the band play the whole thing through.
Oh don't mind me, I'll just be over here in a corner backstage crying.
Was this with Andy McKinley? I recognize that Turn It Off opt-up.
It was Andy as McKinley! :)
How does a production decide between a conductor who plays keyboards, for BOM, and a baton conductor, for Wicked, for example?
That run in Man Up that you played (bar 118) sounded a lot like the run from I’m Not Afraid of Anything from SFANW (bar 65). Was the inspiration for it taken from that?
Honestly, I don't remember if that's what specifically inspired it but you're right, it does sound very similar haha! :)
I couldn't place it, but that's exactly what I thought it sounded like ahaha
Those runs/licks in Man Up are insane. Are they written in? Great playing. Can you upload any more?
Haha thanks! Those are definitely improv on my part. 😁 I can’t upload more due to all the copyright stuff unfortunately but I’m so happy you enjoyed what I was able to share!
I second this. I need to see those improvised parts written out!
I’m curious why baptise me has a click?
In the opening number “Hello” who is firing the doorbells? I see you point to the camera at this point, is it a sound engineer or one of the musicians looking after this?
So the doorbells are played on Key 2, in real time. It's definitely a tricky spot and one small mistake can really mess it up haha! :)

@@thedanielklintworth that’s really interesting
By any chance do you remember what city this was filmed in?
This was filmed in Charlotte, NC!
BoM is a great show. I have Tourettes and, for once, I was not the most offensive person around!
5:11 - Shine solo anyone?
The drums sound amazing! Who is the drummer here?
Init I play the drums
The drummer here would’ve been Jeff MacPherson. Beast of a player 🤘🏻
