Fun fact, the "press Y to instantly use a cipher" is bound to the physical location of the Y key on a Qwerty keyboard rather than the input of the letter. So if you live, for example, in Germany, where the Qwertz layout is standard, you will have to press Z as the Z is in the position in which Qwerty keyboards have the Y.

i have a Swiss-French (Accented QWERTZ) and i can confirm this is true, cypher and ayatan auto-install is bound to Z for me too
Also, this is a PC only feature. I don't know about Xbox, but PS4 requires a triangle press to use it. Some of these are great, but some are pc exclusive.
@@cgkase6210 On Xbox you press "Y" as well lol, nice and inadvertently consistent. What's weird is (unless I've always imagined it) those shortcuts are actually included in the Xbox UI, that's how I learned them in the first place
@@NoseyParkerxD or whatever you bind your weapon swap to(I personally swaped X-B and Y-RS). Imo, it provides a smoother melee experience, having light and heavy basically right next to each other.
also quick tip: If you have some spare argon crystals and don't know what to use them on before they decay, you can type argon in the foundry search bar and it will list all the items that have them in their recipe

"Context action includes reload" is mainly for console/controller players. As there are limited buttons.. a lot of games will combine interact and reload.
Combining the buttons yes but not activating them both while using it as an action. As in if I Pressed Square to Activate the door it shouldn't reload because I used Square for the door at the panel. If I press Square near nothing then it should reload like normal. Like most game have by default. I know I'm late but yea.
@@user-zy9pg1kv1y what makes it even worse is if you are playing with controller and don't like this so you turn off that setting you lose your reload button and need to remap it
@@user-zy9pg1kv1y If you're pressing it once and both reloading and activating something your controller may have something wrong with it which is causing a double input. I've personally never had this happen unless I accidentally double-pressed it.
@@Nightman9001 bruh no, it starts the reload animation instead of using the thing, so like if its a hefty reload time you gotta be like uh uh er do i reload or do the thing and usually its do the thing quick then reload but like certain decisions in this are life and death.
@@VideoGamesMusicMeyou’re missing the point. That will only happen if you weren’t actually next to the context action thing. If you hack a terminal for example the only way pressing x will ever make you reload is if you weren’t actually close enough to the terminal for the pop up in which case it still wouldn’t have done the action even with the setting turned off. It’s only relevant for pc users who can spam context action approaching the object without having to worry about accidentally reloading
The inline messages are useful when you cant see that a new tab got opened outside your chats cutoff. The HUGE problem is they are the same color when they slide into someone else's DM tab.
Yeah, i don't understand why they thought making it the same color would be fine. DE isn't exactly known for brilliant UI design, but that's just unbelievable. And they still haven't fixed it.
It's really useful for me since I'm constantly closing the DM tabs by mistake, so I can just go to the inline message to get it back. Though I must say, adding a different colour to inline would definitely be a good idea.

5:50 a lot of the search bars are "smart" in this way. If you're looking for a weapon, say melee if you type in "scythe" it'll bring up the reaper, hate, caustacyst etc, type in "magnetic" it'll bring up all weapons with innate magnetic damage (doesn't find modded elementals only base stats), besides this, you can find items/mods/frames based on any keyword that appears anywhere in their description, such as you can type in "cyst" to find Strain mods, type in "orokin" to find orokin based weapons, type in "cyath" it'll find all cyath based zaws regardless of names etc...
My god, finally I can stop looking at every weapons stats to find one with innate element I need
this also extends to relics containing certain frames/weapons or even specific parts.

Wow things have changed since I started, I always used to search like this by mistake and then have to remember how to make elements.
My favorite is when I have extra argons and lots of blueprints in foundry... search argon and all requiring argon crystals show up immediately.
I'm definitely changing all my crits to blue.

It’s then always gonna look like you’re dealing dmg to shield or overshields depending on the type of blue

OH MY GOD, the invert abilities at 6:47 is a game changer. I've always complained about how wisp has to hold down 1 for motes when holding down should be to switch them. Other frames like khora can be vice versa so now i can have it exactly how i want. I had no idea in 4 years of playing.
For the profit taker dialogue skip, I've found that left click works just like hitting enter

Never in my life I'm turning Ordis off. Yeah, I wish he had more lines of dialogue/monologue. But he's basically the closest thing we have to a friend/family at this point. Not counting (spoilers) on Deimos.
A) Thank you for not spoiling anything (I'm a returning player and don't think I ever set foot on Deimos) and B) That's exactly how I feel. Space is lonely without our robopal.
A tip that a lot of new players may not know is when playing solo, at the end of a level during the extraction when the animation of boarding the ship plays you can skip the 10s timer by pressing space skipping the timer. Very helpful for running capture missions

No more being held hostage in open world games. I had no idea you could leave and not loose your loots. I was so afraid of loosing my treasures, I would end up doing more missions even though I was maxed on rep and wasting my time. Love these kind of QoL videos, a part 2 would be great if you haven't done so yet.

I love Ordis! Out in space, he 'genuinely' cares about the Tenno. It feels like he's an actual 'friend'. How excited he was in fighting 'with me' during the Suda quest... Yeah, he can be redundant, but it's immersive, brilliant storytelling.

MR 28 - Only one I wasn't aware of was the Deimos skip using NW. So glad you shared that one, it'llhelp me save sooo much time. I also changed my crit colors too, regular crits are red, orange crits are dark red and red crits are black, It looks really nice.

I always like to leave five copies over per mod when clearing dupes. Considering it’s pretty often that I need an unmaxed mod, the spares are decently useful. Since I only clear mods once a year at the most it isn’t a problem to do it manually.
I'm also a fan of keeping 5 per mod, mostly for if I ever run into a new player that needs one that I would normally have 500 of but they haven't been playing long enough to get one yet.

Context action reload is probably due to some weird stuff DE did with controller inputs. Same reason the cipher key Y cannot be rebound. Its hard mapped to triangle/ Y on a controller. You can use it to quick cancel missions too if you accidentally click on one. You use triangle/Y on controllers to do that so Y works there too. Probably also why Y works for the ayatan filling. Same with M and N for some reason being bound to the bumpers. You can use those to quick switch tabs in the foundry or navigate the mission stuff on the top right of the starchart screen. I used to use it to switch between the tabs on the old rewards screens, think it even worked while loading back to the orbiter. You might even be able to use those to rotate the corpus hacking things, but I haven't checked.
sounds reasonable, probably when Steam launched their Steam Link with Controller and some people started playing PC games with Controller on their couch.
You need a LOT of Buttons for a game like Warframe and a Controller is limited, so you need to combine a lot and have popup-menus.

In fact I can only have one or 2 binds to my D pad because all the other buttons are used for something so unless you figured out a magical way to have more buttons please enlighten me

If a button changes what all other buttons do when held it's multiplicative.
E.g: If You only have 4 buttons XYAB and 2 trigger buttons you only have 6 buttons over all. But if you have the trigger buttons be mode selects for XYAB it becomes 16 inputs.
Most decent controllers have more to them than that so the number of potential inputs skyrockets to over a number of keys on a keyboard.
Do developers do this? No, they add clunky crap like select wheels because... IDK. They simply don't allow proper binds either. That's not the controllers fault.
@@PressA2Die how would you square using the the triggers and bumpers as mode select in a game that uses those buttons as single press utility for other actions? How would it know I want to cast lt+b instead of just trying to aim and then press b?
It was so nice when they added the "invert tap/hold" abilities option to be per-frame settings instead of just 1 universal setting for all :)
A small trick i liked to use with the customize UI colors is to change the Downed Ally icons color, because when the icons bugs out and gets stuck on the screen they're usually red and/or yellow and it's a bit hard to spot a dying pet or rescue target with several other red icons moving around too. So i changed that to purple or something.
Same thing for the mercy-kill threshold, it's default color is very hard to see against many healthbars so setting it to a clashing color makes it much easier to see, mostly just useful if one wants to trigger the on-mercy-kill mods or if the enemies levels are getting very high.

Great to see a guide on some of these, I've always found it kinda weird how hidden a lot of QoL features are.
I wanted to add a couple of things though.
For the profit taker dialogue I always use left click to skip, I didn't know enter also works but left click is a bit quicker for me anyway.
I keep seeing people say you can have 9 gear hotkeys and I'm not sure why, I have 12 hotkeys on my function keys, they're grouped into 3 groups of 4 on my keyboard so I have them set up as F1-F4 for vehicle and archgun launchers, F5-F8 for fishing spears, mining, and tranq rifle, and F9-F12 for scanner, specters, and on call crew.
By default the 10-12th hotkeys are unbound, they just need to bind them.
Seeing ordis being muted in the thumbnail made me cry. Dude was literally milliseconds away from suiciding until he thought of you

Not all players know about the console front left in the orbiter to get to all the npcs fast. I always use it for open worlds and to get to the simulacrum
Yes, good one. Also, don't be like me and use it for years to go to a relay and talk to Simaris to start Sanctuary Onslaught. Be a smarter person and skip all the chit chat and dialogue menus by starting Sanctuary Onslaught from the Navigation console's syndicate tab. (For some reason my brain just deleted the fact that the Simaris options are on top of that list)
Sanity saving tip, if you go fast enough and select "Visit simaris", then esc out when the countdown starts, you can avoid the sound of Simaris talking :)
"Leave Squad" should be part of the Beginners tutorials. So many times your hunting/mining in open worlds and someone joins then tries to leave. Leave Squad has started many a rage moments for some...
If you have no intention on doing bounties with other people in open world and just want to mine/hunt you can select Solo/Friend Only then go directly to the open world from your orbiter. It will put you into a low level instance and farm away with no one able to bother you.
It should just be like endless missions.

4:28 You can actually hotkey the first 12 items on your gear wheel. The keybinds are just not set by default, I set mine to 0, -, and +.
Another trick with gear key bind: bind synthesis scanner to a convenient button (for me it's middle mouse button), and when you have another gear equipped (mining laser, fishing spear, conservation gun) but you need to return to combat to clear some enemies, just double press the synthesis scanner key. It will switch to equip synthesis scanner and then un-equip it, switching you back to whatever weapon you were using before and ready you for combat.
Alternatives to this include pressing the same gear button again or pressing melee, but I find double tapping synthesis scanner button a much faster universal simple to remember way to switch back to your weapon.
Plus binding synthesis scanner to a convenient button is useful on its own. It allows you to quickly switch on and off synthesis scanner on simaris hunts.
or you can just, you know, press "switch weapon" button?

8:55 You should've mentioned that this is 'shunned upon' if all players are already going for extraction AND you are the host of the squad. Many incidents happen where the host doesn't wait for his entire squad (who are on their way to extraction) and leave the squad, putting EVERYONE into host migration and slowing them down. Or worse, having failed migration process because DE is so good in fixing their game. All this because some 'kid' watched a video about it and does it regardless of being host or not.
9:40 I believe 'left click' skips this dialogue too, if I'm mistaken.
Just a heads up - you're probably looking for "shunned" or "frowned upon". Shunned upon isn't a thing. Good word / expression, though, so good on you for developing your vocabulary!

It still amazes me how I can learn things I didn't know, despite playing this game for like 7 years or so...
Most of these I already knew, but the "Y to Auto Install Ayatans" (I knew about the Cipher Y one), and the Customise colours things were totally new to me.
It also now makes me doubt all of those UA-camrs that show "red crit builds" when you could just swap the colours and pretend it's constantly red critting with only occasional yellows instead of vice versa.
You should be able to tell if a build is real or not just by looking at the set-up.

I'm so glad they did the ability toggles in a frame by frame basis, it's always such a nice surprise when you actually get something you've been suggesting.
It is a shame I still sometimes mess up and accidentally hold my Mag 2 etc. spamming it as I try to ensure I hover over an enemy and press it at the same time, it'd actually be kinda nice to just disable it altogether too. I wonder if that's just me, it also sometimes happens in other games, it seems especially when my framerates dip and one of my spam clicks is ever so slightly slow on the release. (Come to think of it, might even be my Corsair Scimitar Pro buttons)
On top of that I'm just not the best with combos involving holds, you know that feeling when you start holding too early and the action doesn't even come out, then it takes a sec for you to register that you're just standing there? It's pretty awkward.
My biggest enemy is double-tap direction to dash, though, I think games having that as the only option should actually just be illegal.
Also, if I'm ever at a friend and they leave their WF account unattended, I am most definitely changing their crit colors to confuse them.

Ohh, come to think of it, this was another feature I suggested to Pablo! Love that it's not just cool, but also helps some people with visibility, more than just standard color blind filters can do on their own. There's yet again further improvements I'd make, especially in Railjack, like an optional outline around the crosshair that dynamically contrasts with the background, as well as a line extending from the center of the screen to it so it's always very evident where you're aiming.

EXTRA TIPS
You can pass through those confirm "yes" or "no" buttons with space bar or esc.
4:18 in fact it's impossible to change this auto hack keybind, since it doesn't appears in the control settings.
5:43 you can also search for any word present in the text of a mod. Like "crit" and only shows you crit related mods. But one extra advice: you can search for weapon types in your arsenal, for example: shotgun. Then it will show you all your shotguns, perfect for that shotgun only sortie.
What a great video man. I am MR30 +2400h playing since 10 years ago, the first middle button tip blowed my mind 🤯 I'm glad I knew all tips except 2, that one and the Y to upgrade sculptures. To be fair I found out about the nightwave dialogues skip trick recently.

The select all mods trick don't work unless you keep at least 1 of the mods, which means you would need to upgrade each of the mods at least 1 tier up, to keep 1 of them.
Pretty sure that's only needed for assault mode and a select few, because i do that all the time

I'm new to WF and still only own 2 frames but holy fuck the inverted control setting blew my mind. Most games simply wouldn't bother doing the specific frame separation, this is great from DE's part.
I have been playing this game for over SIX YEARS and I didn't know about the middle mouse key for max select or the Y key for ciphers. DE, please make this stuff stuff more visible.
The only thing that requires turning off is the music, atleast lowering it, like everytime you catch some animal and that bg music everytime

Another note on skipping dialogue, you should be able to press Escape to completely skip all the dialogue after starting a Profit Taker mission

Yeah it's easy. I have square on reload and O on interact (use X if you're not in JP), and still can fit a bunch of other keys.

So I may be wrong here, but I think the reason that context/releas share an optional button is due to consoles having such a finite number of key binding options. So since they *have* to share some binding options, it was probably just easier on DE to code every platform to do the same thing and give you the option to change it- although it would be amazing if they'd have a quality of life tutorial for new players in the early part of the game for this stuff.

If you invert a Warframe's Abilities, they are also inverted on ANY Warframe that have Subsumed the Ability of this Warframe by the Helminth System!
Info for the "Cancel Transmission with Nightwave Screen":
The Host (but ONLY the Host) can this so also in Public or Multiplayer Games.

The NW dialog cancel works only for Host, so if u joined to other ppls it have no effect, but if the host use this trick it will work, even if not the gost picked up the bounty and he is other side of a map.
PT dialog skip mouse left btn also works.

-increase the field of view angle.
-fixe the minimap to make that it doesn't rotate ;

Honestly, it's worth having a wander through the settings menus every month or so. They're constantly shuffling stuff around and adding things, though sometimes it takes some fiddling to find out what a setting actually does when it's new 😅
