also, it's the serene focused expression on dan face when he plays that always stood out the most to me, you can tell how much he enjoyed playing and found peace in doing so ❤
I almost wanna cry when dan plays piano, it's so beautiful (somehow i'd rather see a concert of him playing piano than a concert pianist bc there are extra emotions when he plays you can just feel it) also...1) I wanna see him play more piano in 2024 (honestly just a full piano video would be great), 2) I love that one video where he's like "it's really simple" and then proceeds to play the most complicated thing ever (he is so adorable), 3) I love how in one of the instagram stories he mentioned that he missed the piano so much (I love that he loves it), 4) I love how piano almost feels like a therapeutic thing for him (I hope it's something that helps get him through harder times), 5) The last clip is probably my favorite too
why did that last one feel like a punch in the gut… so happy to be able to see the evolution of his talent. many live show memories put alongside him playing in the forever phouse. thank you for putting this together
this actually made me cry?? i used to do a lot of classical music growing up and this made me realise i should get back into it (even if my disability makes it a lot harder nowadays)
the last clip immediately brought me to tears. dan playing that song reminds me of such a simple time in my life, but also a really rough time in my life. i would find clips of him playing it to listen to for comfort back in those days. thank you for bringing back that comfort and nostalgia
OMG STOP 😭😭😭 i’m actually crying rn. the one from [im assuming] when he was on tour and says “i missed the piano so much 🥺” is the last piece i was working on before i kinda abruptly stopped playing piano. like it’s actually still such an emotional thing for me cuz it was such a big part of my life and i just dropped it cuz i had no motivation to continue (mental health was rlly bad). and that song is literally one of the only pieces i still remember how to play. i miss piano so much it physically hurts and THIS makes me want to start again 😭❤ (lmao sry for the rant) (also why do i feel like it’s just a universal experience for people who play piano to just finish a less-than-satisfactory song off by just banging on it LOL)
petition for a tour moment of dan just vibing in between phil talking about mindfulness and we can all just take a moment to zen out also forever flexing on the 2:15 being from the wad show i was at
The piano is the only instrument I just cannot learn how to play, so it's really lovely to watch Dan play. Loving and playing music is such a warm and welcoming trait to have in a person.
I love how everyone in the comments is so emotionally attached to Dan's piano playing. I mean I am too but in a different way. I was actually so jealous that he was able to learn songs without using sheet music that I taught myself how to do it too. in the beginning stages I used to literally search clips like this and play the snippets of songs he played cause I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT TOO. for ingenue i first learned his version and then the original one which is a half step higher cause his piano was hella out of tune. he still plays better than me tho lol.
clair de lune is one of the pieces that made me want to learn to play the piano when i was a toddler and even now it's one of my favourites to play and hearing dan play it actually brings tears to my eyes. same with the c#minor nocturne
Your most favourite ever also used to be my most favourite ever and as I started playing piano at around the time of this clip, it was also the first song I learned to play. Aww the memories 🥺
God ingenue is the most beautiful thing. I want to learn piano and play it. That clip is my current ringtone (though it's quiet and hard to hear!) and apparently it was everyone else's when he first played it.
thank you SO SO much for this compilation !!! genuinely makes me feel so happy and comforted, i'm glad i suscribed !!! :3 by the way, does anyone know what final fantasy 7 song he's playing at 4:31?? :O
His old out of tune piano is such a comforting, nostalgic sound. What the hell
so true !! :)

after so many years, dan's piano playing is still so so dear to me
i knew ingenue would be last and almost started crying when i heard it
the way little dan used to save up money for piano lessons

He's so content when he plays, like there's not a worry in the world. 🥺
him playing ingenue is my favourite too, i was waiting for that clip the whole video lol
the only reason why i kept people waiting for it hehe
the day he finally comes out with a full cover/rendition of something is the day i will find happiness
i would fall asleep with the last one on repeat every night for months when i was like 13 it still makes me feel sleepy
He looks so peaceful when he plays we never see him that peaceful it's making me a lil emotional ngl

This is so soothing, I can’t even put into words the emotions Dan’s piano playing makes me feel 🥹💗
when I was younger I would fall asleep to a compilation of Dan playing piano. Thx for the blast from the past
thats so wholesome 😭dan inspired me to stop procrastinating self teaching myself the piano
Wow i was not alone in falling asleep to a looped video of him plauing ingenue huh lmao
I knew the last before he even played it, it will forever be his song to me ❤
I think Dan’s next tour should be a piano concert bc his piano playing is absolutely amazing!❤🥰

He's really feeling it. Such passionate play always leaves me speechless!
Its crazy how much ingenue means to all of us :’)

cant believe dan is what got me into radiohead when i was 14 bc of the pyramid song clip
clair de lune makes me incredibly emotional and i think its because of everything everywhere all at once
THAT MOVIE IS DEVASTATING

I didn't realize how many clips I'd missed over the last few years on their hiatus. I should have had notifs on
dan playing ingenue flashed me back to being 18 and hearing him play it briefly in the holiday DITL. gotta love that really niche nostalgia 😭

It’s cool that me and Dan have something in common (I also play piano)
I love how he plays the piano!
5:07 i didn't know that he'd done claire de lune 🥺 literally my fav piano song

Лунная соната ❤
i need him to drop an album
🫶🏻 Amazing Dan! So beautiful!
I am crazy or did he once play the La La land theme?
i love dans newer stuff on piano, but oh my god the old out of tune piano when he plays ingenue. ❤️🙏🙏
Could someone please spell out for me the name of the very last song? I really enjoy it
my hand kink started early, and it coincided suspiciously with my weakness for musically talented people, hmmm 🤔🫠
