Would I have to insert a center dowel after removing the rod? I have a 4 tier wedding cake that will be sitting in the reception room for 4 hours before cutting

You can if it will bring you peace of mind. It’s very easy to insert a precut center dowel into the small hole left by the CakeSafe’s center rod. Here’s a video showing that.

Can I ask, is there something underneath that base drum that leaves a space so it's easy to pick up the cake from the cake safe?

I’m using a Luxury Cake Base from CakeSafe.com. They have half inch feet on them so it’s easy to get your fingers underneath. 👍

What size cake safe box is that, please? I'm seriously considering getting one and want the accurate size!

Thanks for the question! This is a Small/Tall. If you'd like help choosing a size, email us with the following: What size is your largest cake base/drum? What is the height of a normal cake tier (not layer)? And how many tiers do you normally do? Our email address is info@cakesafe.com
