  • Semi naked cakes have become a popular style of wedding cake, and have a very distinctive, elegant look!
They are simply a cake with a very thin layer of frosting, which allows some of the layers to peek through. This technique is easy to make, and better yet, easy to transport!
Semi naked cakes have become a very popular style of engagement and wedding cake, but they can also be used to for less formal occasions, like birthdays.
This cake is made with a 12 inch, 9 inch, and 6 inch tier. I used 8 batches of batter to make this cake.
The recipe for this cake can be found here: chelsweets.com...

Great video. Really easy to follow and with your cheerful disposition makes it great to watch, so thank you for sharing. You mentioned cream cheese frosting, I've seen that a lot of bakers don't use cream cheese frosting because of it being left around for a while at weddings and because it apparently doesn't hold up so well as perhaps a buttercream or ermine frosting. Do you have any thoughts/advice on that.
    Thanks.
