Lots of what is delivered comes from California. I am a California native. Born and raised. I am a practicing Christian and a Republican. We are stuck right in the middle of all this injustice. Believe it or not, we are many. But we are still out numbered. Beware! I believe that their plan is to insert Gavin Newsom for president later in the year. Because they will say it's because of Biden's failing heath. I would bet on it..

As you mention the electric semi trucks("18-wheeler") are allowed to carry 82,000 lb in total. Here is where it gets strange because the Tesla Semi is estimated to weigh 27,000 lb without cargo but with battery.
Honestly I dont really know for sure but I have seen a lot of people saying that the Tesla Semi can carry 4,000 lb less than the normal "18-wheeler". Another thing is that most of the time the cargo weight isnt the problem. It is the cargo volume that is the limiting factor.

Replacing every truck that currently exists in Canada with an electric one would draw more electricity than the entire nation currently produces. And those trucks would only run half the distance per day the current fleet does. Canada would need to TRIPLE its national electricity output in order to move as much material as they already do and DOUBLE the number of drivers on the road.
And that's just semis. Imagine electrifying EVERY vehicle. Canada would need to produce more electricity than probably the US or China produces right now to make the same number of miles. And they have 1/9th of America's population.
