  • After her stroke last year, Steffany Quintana, 26 (Houston), juggled helping her single mom care for her younger siblings, going to college and studying for the LSAT. Just one month before graduation, she had a stroke, losing the ability to talk, swallow food and walk unassisted. After a month of inpatient rehabilitation, Steffany completed school -- the first in her family to get a college degree. She hopes her story will raise awareness about the impact of stroke.

My daughter had a stroke in January of 2020 at the age of 41. and it was a complete shock. The good thing is she knew exactly what was happening to her and got to the hospital within 15 minutes! She is doing so much better today and it has put an awareness in our entire family about stress, and anxiety and not getting proper rest. Her life has changed, but we are so blessed to still have her. I wish you all the best in your future. God Bless you and thank you for sharing your story.
