  • On July 10, 2012, five California sea lion pups - all rescued by The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, Ca - were released back to the ocean at Fisherman's cove in the gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary. Rescuers from the Center helped these animals who were found ill and malnourished on beaches in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. After treatment at the Center's hospital, all were ready to go back to the wild!
Special thanks to Ken Fisher at Truth Be Told for his outstanding videography and compilation of the day's event!

You guys do such awesome work. Thank you!
Cute of the sea lion who yawned, and the one who was just sniffing the sea air, as if to say, i'm home.

This is possibly the worst place to release sea lions - it is a hangout for great white sharks - read Susan Casey's book 'the devils teeth' - the sharks hang out here to eat seals and sea lions - in fact a similar group released a pair of sea lions in 2002 or thereabouts only to see them eaten by great whites straight away
