Excellent tutorial not only on cement area, but lamps, traffic lights & pigeons along with painting.. cement ages as you mentioned.. Traffic light post from my youth were a dark green post while light housing was black.. street lamp lists were black with light globes being frosted.. like your choice of colors as well.. busy, busy.. Happy Modeling Jason🎶☕️☕️✌️
Jason, a great video on adding that extra layer of very fine details. When you add your traffic lights permanently, you will need to add lines to the road9s) to indicate where the cars need to actually stop on red, don't want any accidents..... The pigeon painting is very fine, and came out great. Thank you for sharing. Cheers, and keep safe, Michael
I have recently found you on youtube and have ben bouncing around binge watching. (I can't seem to stop) This is the video I needed. It was perfectly explained and demonstrated. Thank you.
In Milwaukee, they paved-over the cobblestone alleys in the downtown area (they tore the cobbles out on the main roads). The asphalt that they paved over the alleys with is long since gone except at the edges, and the alleys are now back to the incredibly durable cobbles. It is very interesting how the asphalt tapers from the edges only where there are structures down to the cobbles. Where there is a parking lot or any other open area, the cobbles go right to the edge because the asphalt was not protected by a structure.
Jason, thanks for all you do to support the hobby. You have significantly improved my modeling skills and upped my motivation over the last few years. I like the new lamp post and traffic signal details. Have you considered making a kit version that would allow us to put LEDs in them to add a little automation to our layouts? Perhaps you could choose a standard LED form factor so that you wouldn't have to get into the electronic supply business. Or, of course, you could supply it all. Cheers.
Jason….wondering if you can recommend a replacement for the Cocoon chalk paint. The cocoon color appears to be discontinued by ArtMinds. Thanks in advance!
That section looked fantastic, and the pigeons were absolutely worth it. I love this channel, and though I make game terrain not railroad layouts I've learned as much or more from you than from any ttrpg crafting channel. Thanks for sharing your incredible work.
Your vast knowledge of these paints and the different effects is absolutely amazing! Especially for one so young 😂 Almost makes me want to switch from N to HO scale!
Good morning Jason, as always your work is so motivating. I love your detail - the stop lights, lamp post and pigeons. I know you have seagulls in your nautical scenes, do you personally plan on adding seagulls on your store site. Enjoy the weekend.
Pigeons! "We are not worthy!" "We are not worthy!" I plan to do a flying traffic light from Futurama some day (soon?) found a traffic light controller for train sets on Amazon. $20. Haven't used it yet but it looks easy to run.
Great video of the importance of details and textures, Jason. I love how the new town's shaping up. I'd love to see more of your airbrush cleaning routine sometime. I have a similar routine for my single action, but my dual action always seems like it's a lot of work to clean even with acrylics.
I recently moved from HO to O-27 Lionel. You should think about putting out a few of your buildings in O scale. Everything else transfers over to O just fine.
Great as usual Jason! Cant wait for your new kit either. Question: What 3d printer(s) do you use? The traffic lights and lampposts look absolutely great!
hey Jason, have you used Woodland Scenics realistic water? i'm about to, i've used it before, so i'm familiar w/the process. but..i want to add debris to my streets and pour realistic water also. don't know if i should glue debris in place 1st, or pour 1st, then glue (w/elmer's) onto the realistic water. if i glue the debris in place, then pour, i'm afraid the water won't be able to self-level. thank you for your work, it's effing awesome.
Walmart also sells those exact chalk paint colors. May I make a possible modification to your lamp posts? Is it not possible to print the lower and upper sections in an opaque plastic and the area where LEDs can be mounted made from clear plastic?
@@JasonJensenTrainsOkay, I have scoured Michael's website and cannot find, "cocoon" chalk paint on their website or anywhere for that matter. Is it possible that it's an in-store exclusive, or has gone out of production since you released this video? I've searched and just cannot find it.

I thought I had seen it all until I saw your pigeons! :) Outstanding!!!
I love the pigeons, and the cat on the garbage can
I love how all these mini worlds are coming to life within the big mini world.
👍

Absolutely astonishing details, it's so amazing how adding weeds, grass and trash just add loads of character to the layout 🚂👍

Thanks, Jason . Nice job, I hope I can get to this level of detail on my RR.
Thank you so much Bob!!! I m sure you’ll have lots of details on your layout. Just takes time. Happy modeling!!!
Your 3 d parts will be such a great addition to the website, and this corner lot T-you’ve modeled couldn’t be cooler! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Thank you so much Tracy!!! 👍
Great quality work and lots of good advice. I guess this is what I have come to expect from your videos 🙂 Thank you Jason!

Love all the details. Didn't notice if you added fallen leaves on the rooftops along with the pigeons?
I recently moved from HO to O-27 Lionel. You should think about putting out a few of your buildings in O scale. Everything else transfers over to O just fine.
I may do that in the future. It’s a strong possibility. Thanks for watching Benjamin!!!
just so good man thanks
Your techniques are inspiring but when you're working on the layout with those highly detailed buildings just inches away you make me nervous! LOL
I'm always amazed at the details you put on.
Do you have a box set of your videos for future reference?
Thank you so much James!!! Lol, no box set. Thanks for watching! 👍
Great as usual Jason! Cant wait for your new kit either.
Question: What 3d printer(s) do you use? The traffic lights and lampposts look absolutely great!
I'd absolutely go to the trouble of adding pigeons. But I'd draw the line at pigeon droppings...
Once again mate another great video, was wondering with street lights your not pre wiring them as you go along? To work when all set up and done
Wonderful! Thank you.
How thick do you cut the foam for the concrete and sidewalks?
Thank you so much John!!! Its about 3/32, I wouldn’t go any thicker then 1/8. Hope that helps!
Great job Jason on the traffic signals did you just paint the lights or did you insert a colored bulb?
Thank you so much John!!! I painted the lights with metallic colors from Ammo. The metallic paint really reflects the light. Thanks for watching! 👍

I’ve always glued debris first, then poured. It still self levels. Thanks for watching and good luck on the project!!!
@@JasonJensenTrains TY, now i can go ahead!
I notice that on just about every building you have a window tilted open. Is there a trick to doing this?
Walmart also sells those exact chalk paint colors. May I make a possible modification to your lamp posts? Is it not possible to print the lower and upper sections in an opaque plastic and the area where LEDs can be mounted made from clear plastic?
Where did you get your wallpaper?
I painted the sky by hand. I have a couple old videos showing me painting it.
Where do you buy artminds cocoon chalk paint? I cannot find it.
I buy mine from Michael’s craft store
@@JasonJensenTrainsI cannot find it on their website. When I search for it, I get, "Simply White."
@@JasonJensenTrainsI've searched for, "Cocoon," on their website, but it returns, "Simply White." Have they renamed it, by chance?

Can't find Cocoon paint. They don't make it anymore. Do you now have a substitute?
I’ve come across the same problem. Can’t find the cocoon color. I would love to know what’s a good substitute… thanks!!!
Are you trying to produce a New England town? Does not look like Colorado :)
I’m not modeling a specific area. It’s all just made up. Thanks for watching Bill! I truly appreciate it!!!
where there's pigeons, there's poop. just sayin'....
Lol, you are correct. I’ll take a fine sponge and add some poop to those roof tops! 👍
Haahahaha
