I am soooooooo happy that I found you and this video!!! What an amazing teacher!!! I love the way you explain - other videos I watched frustrated me. Thank you!
just wondering, won't it be easier to pipe the flower on a parchment paper on flower nail, put them in fridge then position it on the cake? I mean I would be nervous about piping directly on cake; it might not come out as you want it then you have to scrape it plus with my clumsiness I might accidentally touch the other parts of the cake :)
cooleustary this is a matter of skill (and confidence) and time management, if you're on a tight schedule and have a deadline this is a better option for many.
I use my nail a lot. But if the flower has a lot of delicate petals like these flowers do, it can be better pipe directly on the cake. Buttercream roses or mums are basically several delicate LOOKING petals on top of what is actually a solid lump of icing, so they are easier to move from nail to cake. If you're using buttercream, a delicate flower like a daisy, poinsettia, pansy or a daffodil pipes better directly on the cake.
Great tutorial but I just found it difficult piping a flower directly onto cake. I'll maybe prefer it to pipe from piping nail to cake. But thank you so much for the tips! ^^
I'm a big fan of yours and Valerie! I even have your book. Love it. You are the reason I got interested in flower cakes. Lovely video, quite informative and I don't give a dammn of some people think if you talk too much! I liked the way how you talk in detail. Plus I always wondered how you pipe flowers directly on cake! Now I got to know and I must say it's pretty impressive!😍 Actually you gave me an idea that solves every problem! Thank you very much😁 I'd love to be enrolled in one of your classes in the future! You girls are doing amazing job! Keep it up😎👍
That's a first. I've watched cake videos for years from ppl w various degrees of professionalism and even from ppl w years and years of experience and I have never ever seen a cake decorator pipe their flowers directly on the cake.
Beautiful flowers, I like making flowers with buttercream too. But I always have problems with the consistency. Often I have big bubbles, and a bigger issue is my buttercream isn't very flexible, to the edges of my petals look frayed. I'd love to know your recipe, it's beautiful, and the peach almost looks a little translucent, which makes it look even better. And it looks like it doesn't fray either.

I have, several times. Takes a lot of skill
They have been doing it for years. That's how they did it back in the day!
I prefer piping straight onto the cake. I just plan out what goes where and relax without overcorrecting.
Awesome
Thank you only god will reward you ♥️
